Acrid Canon by Archspire - Pro Drums 98%

- After what felt like a billion runs of AtL, it was time to finally get a 98% on this. Which (by no surprise) was very easy to do in the stark contrast of difficulty of a 270 v 290bpm. I am a little distraught over cymbal usage but, It's as good as it'll get lol. Past this, I did give AUM a solid attempt again after almost a month of not playing it. No success, (alike to AtL) but I am being optimistic still

THIS THING IS IN ME
THE BOANET IS GROWING
THE BOANET IS GROWING
THE BOANET IS COMING OUT
Some of these combos are some of the most ridiculous things I've seen on this game
When I pull the 5* run of AtL, I swear it'll defy all expectations of what was intended for this game
Birdman the best in the world right now? Probably
Sick to see the notes visualized cause it's so fuckin wild just by ear
That fill at 2:52 gets me every damn time
Sick run as always. Cannot wait till you get the AUM 5 star run 🤘
I'd like to see how Spencer would do with the charts of his parts.
considering how many techniques he uses that don't translate well to rhythm games (ie. gravity blasts and buzz rolls) he almost certainly wouldn't do much better than this
@@lucasbrucas9632 It's guaranteed he'd do worse, like you said the translation isn't there and if you aren't used to how a rhythm game feels, even despite drumming translating more literally than guitar, you just aren't going to do well
Not to mention all the bell/side work vs jumping pads for a chunk of the cymbal accents
Exceptional. I stopped listening to this stuff 20 years ago but glad to hear guys doing some genuinely interesting drums. Reminds me of what Hoglan did on the Symbolic album, in that it's actually musical
The game has advanced so much!
Tech death is super mathmetal pretty much
The stamina required for this is pretty nutty
Tech death ain't no joke!
best song of the album
Imagine it not being AUM smh
out of this world
Wild
Lets go
You beast
That's left and gravity is sick
Help a confused out of the loop fool, dafuq is AUM and ATL.
Otherwise that was insane my dude. Keep it up
Abandon the Linear and A.U.M, the last two tracks that I need to get 5* runs on from this album. AtL being an onslaught of 290BPM sustained double bass, and AUM being a 400BPM shitshow
@@BirdmanExe christ, good luck I suppose.
Thanks for the info.
I'd love to see you do Drain of Incarnation

You sure you don’t have auto kick enabled?
OMEGALUL
Love your videos bro. Can you please explain how you hooked up your TD-27 to an Xbox or PC? Dying to play this game again!
I am using the Madcatz Midi Pro Adapter, and I am playing on a Xbox 360!
That's insane. Well done. Out of curiosity, how does beeing good at this visual game/program version of playing drums relate to the real song. Are every hit Spencer does programmed in? Basically could you stand in for him live on acoustic drums for this song?
You are after all doing the actual moves in real time, it's just hard for me to see if all of the hits are programmed in or if say one hit equals two actually in the song or something like that.
I would say the chart interpretation is 99% accurate. It’s difficult to be exactly certain what may be incorrect without the direct input from Spencer himself. That being said, this game does have limitations: it has 4 lanes respective to mapping, with only technically 3 cymbal inputs. So in this case, every cymbal hit has been mapped, but they’re being heavily simplified to fit this game accordingly. If you wanted a 1:1 representation, the visual lanes in this game would likely be in the double digits to accommodate Spencer’s vast quantity of cymbals, and toms.
In reference to the double bass stretches in the back half of the song, is that what you mean by one hit equals two? I’m utilizing double strokes on my pedals to achieve two hits per one stroke, and this (to my knowledge anyways) is the same thing Spencer does at these speeds.
There is things he does that are far beyond my capable skill level, and further more replicating this on an acoustic kit would be far out of my reach.
@@BirdmanExe Thanks for the elaborate answer. Always been curious of the correlation between these kind of programs and real drums was. I've only played like guitar hero on ps3 back in the day and I enjoyed drums the most. But because I have zero real drumming skill I could only manage harder metal songs on medium or maybe hard with practise. And Especially the kick drum was something they simplified where I only got say half the visual bars for kick drum than you could actually hear in the song (granted the kit also only came with one pedal). And as long as you hit those fewer kicks the song continued to play normally with full ammount of kicks and you could ace the song on that difficulty level even though if you remove the game/visual and you played exactly like that irl it would sound nothing like the real drumming in the song.
But then again those were songs made for casual fun and not custom charts and also NOT on the same extreme difficutly level you are playing at lol.
And yeah I see that you are limited in numbers of symbals and have a bigger kit than you can actually play in the game.
But ok Archspire irl might be a bit extreme but surely you are skilled enough drummer to play some extreme metal? There must be some overlapping skills playing these games and acoustic drums? Like the wrist movements, kick techniques etc.
Maybe you already are a "normal" drummer irl and have had drumming lessons or have you gotten all this skill through games like this?
@@antioch4019 Yeah, unfortunately the game developer Harmonix never implemented double bass features officially. They handed that off to RBN, which did see it’s fair share of crazy things, albeit not to this extent.
Truth be told, my background was primarily Jazz/Funk. So I had a relatively okay understanding of drumming, although I completely lacked some of these more intricate techniques found purely in extreme metal. As the years went on, I found myself being met with new challenges in this game, and always wanted to better myself (as I found this was the only really way to keep my interest if I continued to “progress”)
I think fundamentally I could recreate some of this, although my playing has been catered more towards pure accuracy due to the game, versus playing dynamically to what you’d audibly hear.
Hope that’s a concise answer to your questions, ha
@@BirdmanExe Still impressive and probably a good headstart and tool if you ever wish to join a band. XD
Always wished they had an expert+ bass. I use to crush even the retarded songs on guitar hero. By no means am I comparing.
But can you play hail to the king?
I am curious to what your drumset is? What is the brand?
It's Roland
