It’s because this trilogy had to do with running away. Woollim makes it LITERAL like lucid dream. They researched a lot about lucid dreaming and the storyline. The did the same thing with running. But seriously in damdadi and let me they were running and...okay yeah basically all their mvs
The song really has deep meanings.. Since WANNABE to ONE has a meaning in searching of their true identity (self-identification? idk) Idk but my interpretation is, they have 2 different sides of their own self. The one with a perfect side/good side (white/pure), and the other with a worst/bad side (black/dark). Since WANNABE they're searching for that perfect self, wanna be a perfect version of them, wanna be "you" aka their other perfect self. But in WITHOUT YOU, they couldn't find it, struggling to find that other perfect self, losing in their own thoughts. Hard to climb up. And finally, in the end, with ONE (LUCID DREAM), they experienced some lucid dream about being that perfect one. They are happy cz they are now in a perfect shape, or so they thought. Bcz it's actually only a lucid dream, hard to escape. So you can see in this MV they experienced some struggles/confusions within their ownselves, even hurting themselves, trying to escape from that dream. Luckily, they managed to get rid of that dream, break the door/anything in that dream (I think it's symbolized by the collapse building), and finally escape from it. They have found their other selves (this is indicated from lyrics 'already perfect you and me', 'only one one one one', 'yes one one one one') meaning they have found and been fused with their other selves, and it's perfect now, thus completing their TRILOGY from WANNABE, Without You, and ONE (lucid Dream). So here is my understanding of the trilogy. 1 Wannabe- they have been sad and tired of their current life so they wish to be their wannabe (their wannabe refers to the someone they want to be). And they have been obsessed on being that someone. 2. Without You - they are currently finding their wannabe because at this point, they forget who exactly it is. They are lost and stuck at finding the one. They keep on finding their wannabe but they keep on coming back without them. 3. ONE (Lucid Dream)- This is when they realized that they have fallen deeply in their lucid dream that it became so hard waking up. They have been too obsessed in wanting to be someone else and they ruined themselves in that process. But even if it is almost impossible, they still woke up and realized that the ONE they need to be or their wannabe is actually themselves.(The wanting for their want to be is just a lucid dream) I don't understand korean so I'm not really sure with this. In general this trilogy is about wanting to be someone else, being lost in it, and realizing that they should be their self. Sorry for my bad explanation, this is just based on my understanding. Sometimes when life gets hard and we encounter many problems, we just want to be someone else but we should not because we'll just lost with it so why not just focus on reality and solve your problems because at the end, you'll just be yourself.

When a song sings about the beauty of love or the pain of heartbreak in terms of interpersonal, some of us might not be able to relate (because we're forever alone 🙂 Jkjkjk) But, losing ourselves, losing identity is so so much easier to relate. I read from twitter They said Y used to be "Scary seniors" when their trainee days, he always point the members if they do wrong choreo and tell them. Meanwhile Daeyeol is the one who teach choreo infront, Y is the one who look from back. The song really has deep meanings.. Since WANNABE to ONE has a meaning in searching of their true identity (self-identification? idk)
Idk but my interpretation is, they have 2 different sides of their own self. The one with a perfect side/good side (white/pure), and the other with a worst/bad side (black/dark). Since WANNABE they're searching for that perfect self, wanna be a perfect version of them, wanna be "you" aka their other perfect self. But in WITHOUT YOU, they couldn't find it, struggling to find that other perfect self, losing in their own thoughts. Hard to climb up. And finally, in the end, with ONE (LUCID DREAM), they experienced some lucid dream about being that perfect one. They are happy cz they are now in a perfect shape, or so they thought. Bcz it's actually only a lucid dream, hard to escape. So you can see in this MV they experienced some struggles/confusions within their ownselves, even hurting themselves, trying to escape from that dream. Luckily, they managed to get rid of that dream, break the door/anything in that dream (I think it's symbolized by the collapse building), and finally escape from it. They have found their other selves (this is indicated from lyrics 'already perfect you and me', 'only one one one one', 'yes one one one one') meaning they have found and been fused with their other selves, and it's perfect now, thus completing their TRILOGY from WANNABE, Without You, and ONE (lucid Dream). "you" and "me" here I think is the same person, "you" is their other self version they're looking for since WANNABE lol it's kinda hard and confusing, but it's what I got. So here is my understanding of the trilogy.
1 Wannabe- they have been sad and tired of their current life so they wish to be their wannabe (their wannabe refers to the someone they want to be). And they have been obsessed on being that someone.
2. Without You - they are currently finding their wannabe because at this point, they forget who exactly it is. They are lost and stuck at finding the one. They keep on finding their wannabe but they keep on coming back without them.
3. ONE (Lucid Dream)- This is when they realized that they have fallen deeply in their lucid dream that it became so hard waking up. They have been too obsessed in wanting to be someone else and they ruined themselves in that process. But even if it is almost impossible, they still woke up and realized that the ONE they need to be or their wannabe is actually themselves.(The wanting for their want to be is just a lucid dream) I don't understand korean so I'm not really sure with this.
In general this trilogy is about wanting to be someone else, being lost in it, and realizing that they should be their self.
Sorry for my bad explanation, this is just based on my understanding.
Sometimes when life gets hard and we encounter many problems, we just want to be someone else but we should not because we'll just lost with it so why not just focus on reality and solve your problems because at the end, you'll just be yourself.

In the mv, while the lyrics, “ perfect, you and I” the building is falling. Because, you realize that even though this version of yourself, you have it, you turned The Whole world upside down. The one you got, the one you lost, and the one you were already looking for. You know this. You’ve been so obsessed with this fantasy. But what happened? The one you got, the one you lost and the one you’re looking for.
Goldenness, there are so many ways to perceive this. I don’t know if what I wrote made any sense and if it did wow you have amazing skills. This song is very well written.
