this is one of the most over built pieces of lawn equipment made. these machines are absolutely awesome and this one has been brought back to life again
My grandfather has a 3813. He bought it new in 86. And all it is is a 13 hp twin And like this, It has a flippin radiator. Hondas are great pieces of machine. I hope to get my hands on a--- 3810, 3813 or a 4213 or anything of the same style, the 4518s are nice but I like the smooth square look of the other ones, So quiet and it works great. But he just bought a 2013 Husqvarna 22v48 for his lawn so I took the half rusted deck off the Honda and my little cousins use it as a butt buggy
Any idea what the 4514 and 4518 retailed for new? Where can I find the model tag on this machine. I found the one on the deck and where is the engine's model tag usually. Is the year built into the model number, got a 4514 I'm trying to decode. Thank's.
You think a liquid-cooled Kawasaki is expensive...back then you could get a reman Civic engine for as much as one of these engines cost new. I've heard the balance shafts are $900 for one of these.

they run so quiet there amazing .
FYI the manual says to engage the PTO quickly.

I have a problem with the rats eating the plastic on the timing cover and overflow tank.
