So....we don't actually know if the car was scrapped, do we? Yeah, it was taken away on a forklift but there is no evidence of it being crushed. The Allegro will never go down as one of Britain's great cars, but there was clearly some value in parts in a car that was otherwise roadworthy. I realize this video is more than five years old, but I would jump at the chance to drive an Allegro (or period Marina/Ital, Maxi, Princess/Ambassador) in good condition for a trip like that! Not sure I would want to own one, even as a project car though, even if I still lived in the UK...but that's another story.

I'm doing a new viral marketing campaign soon for a leading pram supplier, I can't give out the exact details but it's basically a jokey look at Cot Death. Hope it goes as well as this! Bye!
Imagine all the people who who would think a car like that Allegro was cool as fuck if they saw it coming - it`s an onslaught of aggressive beige and it says "fuck you" to everything around it. Kids would think it was cool, student girls into retro stuff would love it, your gran would love it, anyone who just likes to see something different would love it. However, fat middle aged windbags who review cars for a living and compile MSN lists think it was rubbish, so lets try and impress them.
Oh, there are worse cars than this; Perodua Kellissa for example. BL did mess up, this should have been a hatchback from day 1. It probably would have run again if the diesel had been pumped out.
Of course it would.... a roadworthy Allegro? There aren't that many left, so every time some show like this (or Top Gear) destroys one for "fun", it's one less on the road. Even if this car had some serious problems, at the very least it could be a great donor car for others.

If all they can do is copy what Top Gear did to try and boost "ratings" then commercial radio must be in a very bad state indeed, if this load of talentless rubbish is anything to go by. I stopped listening to commercial radio years ago because of DJs with no personallity, nothing has changed then!
