Thanks for posting this rare brilliant straightforward video! Also, no special products or tools needed; just common sense and time. For those already comfortable with twisting their own hair, it is an inspiring boost to get you started on your loc journey! I am so going to do this! 🎊 🎉
Just took down my 3rd style, spent over 600$ on styles that didn’t last, styles that I went to the car crying about ugly styles. I know this will look good and I can sport it messy and figure it out on my own with help of videos like this.
I love how her starter locs turned out. I’m glad you mentioned that the shine doesn’t last on starter locs. I was trying to figure what was going on with mine
I started mines with braids also I don’t know why she keeps saying the braid pattern takes a long time to disappear mines only took 7 months i have 4c hair it will lock no matter what method you use
I want a diamond parting system but the last loctician did triangles and a bigger size locs than I wanted. So I'm thinking about doing it myself so the parting and size of the locs will be how I want them.
Des.. Hunny!!! Aww.. it looks SO GOOD! You did PHENOMENAL job! Ijs.. I think I should be next.. 🤔 I was there I'm spirit.. getting TIRED just watching you do it so nice & neat! 🤦🏽♀️I felt like I was having sympathy pains while you were doing her hair. 🤷🏽♀️ My fingers were swelling.. shoulders hurting, back & feet joined in aching.. It was TOO real then I realized I was having a Lupus flare!! ☺️😊😆😂
I just did 2 strand twist to see as you stated if I will like locs. I have done 2 strand twist before but have not kept them in for to long. The install was fast because I have shaved sides and back, but the only thing I noticed is I don’t like the product I used, and I no I used way to much, it was sopping with product and now my hair is crunchy, so when I take these out I will try something else and way less product.
Hello! Thank you for showing this and talking to us. I was wondering if her locs will grow different in the back because they start with braids and then lead into twists? My hair is also a looser texture in the back so I was thinking of doing the same and I was wondering if that changes anything.
Apryl I really i never heard that before ? Why is that and do they mean not to part down the middle just in the back or not to part down the middle at all ?

I’m tired of covering my hair all the time so I wanted a long-term hairstyle. This video was sooo helpful tysm!
Happy to help!
Would love to see an update on her locs in a few months. Did she request the middle part down the back?
A trick : you can watch movies at flixzone. I've been using it for watching a lot of movies during the lockdown.
@Tyler Salvador yea, have been watching on flixzone for years myself :D

Could you please post an update on her progress…great job on the install!

I've been wondering what's going on with mine too
Don't have locs anymore but you made me want to twist my hair. It did have me inching to start them again. You did great!
Braidlocs! Great way to start locs, especially if you like to wash your hair frequently. I've done two different set of locs this way.

I braided my hair about 4 weeks ago to start my second set of locks. I'm just not used to having loose natural hair anymore lol
Very cute. I did my locs myself on June 21, 2023.
I want to do the same really soon; was the process easy for you?
*1-21-2023 this is exactly what I want, you did a really great job, I love the ⬛ 's that's how I want mine to look {smiles}*

Good job! Love the nail color too. Would love to see an update in a few months.
This looks exactly like mines . I am now in the shrinkage stage . 🎉
Thank you. This video is what I needed. Very simple.

I’m considering doing the organic/freestyle parting system

Very Nice! How many locs does she have?
Thank you! 🥰🌸
I want to do the brick since it will give that coverage to look full in the beginning

I love the 2 strand twist locs! My son wants locs. Is it ok to start them a little bigger?
Does it still loc with the plait at the root
Is this considered small traditional locs or micro?
Can i use shea butter to start my locs ?
They look awesome!!

I started my locs with crescent parts. I’ll be 2 years in June.
Great job!
Why Part down the middle? I was told that that should never be.
Apryl I really i never heard that before ? Why is that and do they mean not to part down the middle just in the back or not to part down the middle at all ?
I have a middle part so that I can wear my hair down the middle or to the side I think it’s up to you.
Good job
❤️❤️
❤️
But isn’t that a braid?
My OCD is out here thinking that this is not a middle part. It’s a bit lopsided😖😖
Hers would have been better to be started with braid locs or comb coils
use the word professional loosely because these people are not Professional !
