    Great video! I think this very well shows how the breadcrumb navigation works. The 165 is such a good value for most people in my opinion.
    Btw, if you can, get a better microphone that’s also close to the mouth. I think it would make a big overall quality bump in your videos! But yeah obviously extra a cost though.

    Does it have that little arrow to show you where to go when you are using maps but on the data screens? Great vid btw, helped me a lot!🎉

    I am planning on buying either coros pace 3 or this 165. Which do you prefer? Subbed!

    • @ActiveIdeas
      @ActiveIdeas  Місяць тому +1

      Thankyou for the Sub ❤️ Cooor between these two I’d personally probably get the Garmin. Coros are fantastic sports tools but the features on them feel quite limited.. I feel like the Garmin is more fun to have on your wrist.. there’s more the software allows you to do (such as multitasking during activities). But the MASSIVE difference for me was music controls.
      Believe it or not there are NONE on Coros. You can only download MP3’s onto your watch and play those? (Who has MP3’s and the hours it takes to transfer them to your watch). On Garmin you can control music from your phone, from your headphones, play it from the watch and connect to platforms such as Spotify & UA-cam music. That’s a big win for me 🌟
      Hope this helps ❤️

      Yes you can, the maps selected in this video were imported GPX files.. I show more of this in my latest video where I compare forerunner 165 to the Race S .. there’s a navigation section ❤️

      @@ActiveIdeas i just want to see the actual size comparison of these watches on someone's risk and also the actual visibility of the screen under the sun and without the sun. Thanks for your response.

      The 265s looks the best (and has the most features). The 255 is the most durable & the 165 is great if you want Garmin but don’t want to spend lots of money x

  • @oliviatomlinson2262
    @oliviatomlinson2262 Місяць тому +1

    I’ve just started CrossFit, I’m looking at this or the vivoactive 5. What would you suggest? I’m leaning towards this watch? There are too many watches to choose from 😭

    • @ActiveIdeas
      @ActiveIdeas  Місяць тому

      Hahaha! I agree! For basic HR tracking and CrossFit duration either of these watches will do. For added durability I recommend the Forerunner 165!
      For the actual CrossFit activity I think you need to spend more money with Garmin to get the 265, 955 or 965. Alternatively you can check out the new Suunto Race S which actually has a CrossFit profile, super durable steel body as well as being light and affordable (same price as forerunner)

      @@ActiveIdeas thanks so much! One more thing, would the 255 be better than the 165? I saw in some other comments you mentioned that?

    • @oliviatomlinson2262

      I just want something to track my calories/general fitness whilst I’m working out and for runs etc
      Im not as bothered about uploading my exact CrossFit workouts to the watch to be honest as I have an app to record my times and stuff

    • @ActiveIdeas
      @ActiveIdeas  Місяць тому +1

      @oliviatomlinson2262 yes the 255 is MUCH better! It has a CrossFit activity

      @@ActiveIdeas okay so maybe I’ll get a 255 😂 I can’t justify the money for a 265. But do you think a 255 over a 165? Sorry for all the questions 😭

    What’s the difference between navigation with 165 and Vivo active 5, I had a look at both in store the other day, the Vivo active 5 looks much better but the 165 definitely has more sport features….

    • @ActiveIdeas
      @ActiveIdeas  3 місяці тому +2

      Yeah, I’m in the same boat as you, definitely prefer the look of the Vivoactive 5.. it’s a very sexy watch 🔥 So on the VA5 you can only navigate towards a saved location really.. nothing special. With the 165 you can actually load up FULL GPX routes and follow them along.. I actually used the Forerunner 165 to Hike/run the Yorkshire Three Peaks last weekend, it was well fun!

    • @brum293
      @brum293 Місяць тому

      Forerunner 165 has barometer/altimeter sensor which Vivoactive 5 doesn’t have. So elevation data will be much more accurate on the 165.

    Maybe if you need map Garmin fenix 6 is better option just few $$ from Garmin165 ? What do you think ?

    • @ActiveIdeas
      @ActiveIdeas  3 місяці тому

      If having Garmin and Maps are fundamental and you don’t want to spend $$ yes.. the Fenix 6 is a great option. The Fenix 6X Titanium Solar is still one of my favourite ever watches.. its battery life, durability, lightweightness is unrivalled 🔥You will be taking a hit with no touchscreen 💫

    • @brucelin5842

      @@ActiveIdeas but wouldn’t Fenix 6 feel too old?

    • @ActiveIdeas
      @ActiveIdeas  3 місяці тому

      @@brucelin5842 Honestly, apart from the lack of a touch screen the Fenix 6 still feels pretty modern. Not much has changed in software and the Fenix 6 was always ahead of its time. Accuracy wise.. I guess there's an argument that the GPS chipset will feel old.. the Fenix 6 was victim of not having great GPS as soon as you got underneath trees or near cliff edges, the current pace would go wild.. there's lots of forums talking about this & I experienced these issues too. But tbh... from my testing.. the Fenix 7 pro also suffered with GPS acquisition in tough conditions. But yeah, if you just want to track your runs, have great battery life and awesome Mapping.. Fenix 6 is fantastic ❤

    • @brum293
      @brum293 Місяць тому

      Gps chipset accuracy is worse on Fenix 6. Also much slower on acquiring signal. Could take minutes sometimes for me waiting for green signal before I could start my run which is annoying. Forerunner 165 has multi-gnss which makes a huge accuracy improvement in my experience.

  • @ActiveIdeas
