Your growler seems to be in really good condition. I just got my M1163 and it needs a little more work that yours does. You mentioned a manual and I was wondering where you obtained one because I haven't come up with any online. Thanks for the info, very helpful!

When you earlier told me what you paid for it I thought, damn that sounds like a lot! But man, that vehicle is so cool, I wish I was still in California to go for a ride in it.
Beats what the taxpayers paid for it. The program went into horrible overruns. From wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Growler_(vehicle): By 2008, unit cost had risen by 120%, leaving each Growler scout variant with a cost of $209,000 per unit. The prime mover mortar contract price rose by 86%, to $1,078,000 cost per unit.
Hello Greg, thanks for your amazing content on the M1161 . Should I be using DEF when fueling this beast? Thanks in advance. Ive never owned a diesel sorry for my ignorance.
No DEF can only be used in a vehicle with a separate DEF tank. If you add it to diesel fuel it will ruin the whole fuel system. It corrodes and destroys all metals. The DEF systems are totally plastic until it hits the Exhaust after treatment unit where it is injected in to burn soot. Thanks for watching my videos I’m glad they are helping out.
All military auction stuff has been selling way too high the last couple of years. But these are also mostly low mileage, I paid $14500 and it has 231 miles on it. It was never used.
