preludeF20Bking Well I will admit I am a best bang for the buck kinda guy, but I also want reliability. My chevy small block in my truck with 408000 miles, original motor, is another reason I would call myself a chevy guy. But I think with enough money you could make any motor best another motor.
@@TheBb6prelude I don't know why you would put a Windsor against an LS. Windsor will split right in half above 650whp. A junkyard LS would make 650 with ebay parts and an autozone tune.
1st Gen. Ford Lightning for me any day
The Chevy would have been faster with a 350 sbc with same head upgrade ... Those 454 motors were garbage in the late model trucks
6:30 In, lets see the drag race
That chevy is my dream truck. I got a 94 single cab step side, 350 tbi. I wish I could get these dudes to pimp it out.
Chevy and ford should do "retro" designed TRUCKS and do these bodies.
Yeah the box looks are my fav
Add the Little Red Wagon
That 454 ss😍.. I think i found my new truck
I’d be happy with any of these trucks in this video but definitely want that SS 454
That GaragePack is an expensive death trap.3 of my buddies got it and installed it properly and out of the 3 of them 7 mishaps occurred.joints keep blowing apart.all 3 had major issues
Good thing they didn't run 1/4 because the 454 would have been covered in Gapplesauce
Nope! I've never seen a test where the stock SS454 defeats the Lightning! NEVER
If I was going to do a truck build for the strip, it would be a 1991 GMC Syclone. Greatest truck ever made!!
This is my home town I’ve ran my four wheeler down that exact track one time when it was closed and and straight down the track towards them pines is where I killed my first deer.
right near where you kissed your sister
Southern life baby 👍😁
I remember a '74 Chevy 454 that a friend of mine used to drive. That thing was a super smooth accelerator with monster low end torque but it was all done at 4000 RPM. It needed way more head and cam. I'm not sure what mods this one has.
454 SS ALL DAY LONG........ I HAVE A 98 RED , SICK FAST!!
Okay well in my opinion both really nice looking trucks but to be honest I would say the Chevy looks more sexy 🙌💯
This is AWESOME! (I've been waiting to post this comment for nine years.;)
Everyone is so salty that they have to wait to see it, but honestly just be happy they are even uploading this stuff! PowerNation could be pulling the same BS that MotorTrend is where they are taking away all the Roadkill episodes and only showing Previews. Pulling that stunt made me hate MotorTrend. Until Roadkill comes back to UA-cam I will not watch them. I'm thankful that PowerNation can still provide me with quality automotive content without charging me.
Dude threw the 454 SS in reverse and hammered it while it was still rolling forward. Glad it ain’t my truck
both these trucks are awesome but its kind of funny that any ol modern stock pick up has the same horse power. The second gen lightnings were legends, in the late 90s they were running 13s
Soooo the Chevy is safer and the Ford is faster? Let's call it a tie
2:01 I love this truck!
That was pretty cool. The outcome was the opposite of what I predicted.
For real they spent $30,000 for an extra hundred horsepower
In my opinion, if Ryan would've put a power adder in the SS454, the playing field would be even
That Garage Pak airline, I’m getting that!
They can't find a 1/4 mile track to run these?
Exactly the results I expected.
Actually the SS won 2 out of 3 (braking and slalom) donuts were fun but both lost.
I already now who wins
I saw this yrs ago. But looking forward to watching it again
who wins?
Ford wins
No lie it is crap the wait but I’m still goin to wait 😂🤣🤣
I would love to have that Gen 1 lightning.
I thought both trucks would be a little faster than that. 🤷♂️
The 454 was always a toad engine, only thing it did well was gobble gas.
Same here. For reference I had a stock 1999 Mustang GT that would do 8.90s in the 1/8. I would think that a turbo first gen Lightning would easily match that. Well they both look great anyway.
honestly two amazing trucks here
