You’re right. The stock Lightning was a very well engineered piece. They screwed it up with all of their chassis mods. Those super long traction bars in the rear had the effect of adding a ton of rear roll stiffness. The stock F150 coil springs in the front were undoubtedly a lower rate than the stock Lightning springs. Good thing they didn't run 1/4 because the 454 would have been covered in Gapplesauce
Nope! I've never seen a test where the stock SS454 defeats the Lightning! NEVER
I see why they ran them on the 1/8 mile, if they would have run them down the 1/4 it would have taken another day for taping the episode. They threw all those parts and work at these truck and you could still use a calendar to time them down the 1/8 mile.
If I was going to do a truck build for the strip, it would be a 1991 GMC Syclone. Greatest truck ever made!!
That Garage Pak airline, I’m getting that!
Si queman Cuh
Those are good tlacuache Trucks
Even after the upgrades those trucks were still slow LOL.
Yup
Yup
I mean, they’re trucks, not sports cars.
Colin A 2nd gen Lightning is faster than either one bone stock.
sixt9coug yeah but a second gen lightning is supercharged, not to mention the advance in technology that we didn’t have in 94.
Dude threw the 454 SS in reverse and hammered it while it was still rolling forward. Glad it ain’t my truck
I’d be happy with any of these trucks in this video but definitely want that SS 454
14:30 NO QUEMA CUHH
La Chevy no sirve cuh
Had to race 1/8th mile for the Ford to win. The Chevy would kill it in the 1/4.
How technology in the automotive industry has changed since 2008. These trucks were barely cracking 300hp to the wheels with all the mods they did. The brake test made me laugh though, lets just flat spot the tires while we're at it lol
The ford is faster than that heavy Chevy.
The Chevy has the look tho
@@bilbobaggins4710 yeah I completely agree on that.
Wish they would do a little red express
A lot of people probably don't even know what that is lol
@@paulvickers9978 Its a old guy in my town have one of those. It was interesting watching the truck starts up and see puff of smoke come out of those pipes like a rig. It was cool.
Exactly the results I expected.
I would love to have that Gen 1 lightning.
Dude at 3:44 SMH! "Him and some buddies" re-wrote the ECM codes ...yeah right, probably had no idea what was being done!
This takes me back to my high school years.
Couldn't help but feel like some better clutches in the rear end of the SS would have helped on the drag strip
A higher stall converter would've helped also
Yall need to chill with the hate. They were nice enough to upload them to youtube for free, you can wait 2 days. There's plenty of other shit to watch until then. They could be like motor trend and only upload on their website which makes you pay to watch anything
@Luke Meier , I think I speak for everyone else when I say "F**K OFF!
@Luke Meier , are you still here? I thought maybe you crawled off to your playpen, crying over someone's mean remark to you on UA-cam. Bwahahahaha!
@Luke Meier
Show me on the doll where my comment touched you.
If the shoe fits wear it, bitch.
@Luke Meier
You wont do shit. You're just another boomer who thinks he's bad ass by talking shit on the internet but would probably snap both his legs if he stepped away from the Walker.
@Luke Meier
You're just mad I'm right that you're a little cry baby bitch complaining about something free....who does that ??
They can't find a 1/4 mile track to run these?
honestly two amazing trucks here
For real they spent $30,000 for an extra hundred horsepower
This is where I live I’m just down the road from the London drag way. My cousin Robbie Mayne runs his S-10 there. I used to run my bike there.
I thought original lightning was a 5.8 windsor
I didn't see if the lighting got built but if it did it's going to be hard to beat it got boost.
Been a ford guy all my life but that chevy is the best thing i missed out on due to being born later
The 454 needed a super charger not aluminum heads.
