The lettuce that is not doing well was over watered. The "green soil" is algae and/or moss which grows when the soil is soggy. A circulating fan could help or less initial watering. Your soil mix could also have too much peat which really allows moisture to be retained. Good luck. I always love to what is going on in your garden. My favorite episodes were you going to your grandma's garden. People who are over 60 years old have lots to teach us about gardening. I would love to talk to anyone who has been gardening that long especially if they were taught by their grand parents.
I love your gardening Lilly. Thank you for showing us. New planting season always brings new hope! Good health and happiness to you, hugs and kissies for Amy!
Keep more water under the germination setup, in the trays underneath. I've had great success with warming mats underneath during germination. I use my 3 season porch as a quasi green house and have a space heater for cold nights/mornings. I'm in the upper Midwest of the USA, so cold at night is an issue. My peas are growing too good and I'm having to improvise support for them until it is safe to plant them outside in raised beds. Peppers are finicky, and don't like to be handled for transplant, so I found a narrow spoon to remove the whole pod from the trays. Good gardening to you!
Your lettuce are made of.platics this viiiiii they didn't vork! Amy is vvvatching for non plastic tomatoes somevvvere there. Good girl for sure. She is your best survival friend
Hi Lilly! Your garden is coming along nicely. I wish I had a greenhouse too. Every year I have to start my vegetables on my windowsills and babysit them for about 6 weeks. After a long stretch of warm weather, we had snow last night. It’s so unpredictable here. It’s not uncommon to use air conditioning and heat in the same 24 hour period. Makes gardening very tricky!
Wow that is going to be a TON of tomatoe plants. You have a small farm we don't know about or plan on selling starts? I germinate tomatoes on the top of the fridge in a zip lock on wet paper towels and transplant when they germinate.
Great video again :D! I didn't look to see how much longer the video was at all during the entire thing. The way you present information makes it really really interesting and so I'm going to start gardening too soon! Please, how do I protect my plants from Squirrels and Birds? My yield is so small because I don't have much space, so an hour and a Squirrel could clear it out :/ Should I just use plastic covering?
The fortune teller. We get to autumn and all of Lillies neighbour's.... OOOHHH NO! It's Lillie again with free tomatoes! Just hide, we'll pretend we're not in.
