I think Zoro asking Mihawk for help is the ultimate illustration of Zoro's loyalty to Luffy. As arrogant and prideful as Zoro is, he's willing to set it aside to improve his swordsmanship and help Luffy.

To the Zoro Mihawk discussion: I actually believe its quite the opposite of what u think. You see, when Zoro asked him to train here, Mihawk was disappointed because he believed Zoro to have given up on himself. After being defeated at Sabaody, after struggling with the baboons, he basically indirectly said "Im to weak, I cant become as strong as you without your help, please, please, please" in a desperate and cowardly manner. Atleast that was what Mihawk thought. When they first met what Mihawk admired was how his ambition made him fight even though the skill difference was that huge, how he still tried to best him and instead of running after being outmatched (like a coward), he chose to rather be killed. "sCaRs oN tHe bAcK aRe a sWOrd mANs shAMe" and shit. But it is admirable because it showed his resolve and how serious he was about it. It wasnt just an empty dream for him. And even after Mihawk cut him down, he didnt just cry or break over the defeat, but rather took it as a lessen and inspiration. Now, the point here is that Zoro doesnt actually wanna ask Mihawk for help, he wants to overcome him on his own. And having beaten the baboons meant, that he is still pushing himself, not that he has given up. Mihawk understood, that Zoro didnt lose his way, lose his ambition or his iron resolve. He swallowed it all for the sake of his crew (most notably Luffy). He wants to betrained to protect those he loves, not to help him reach his own goal. Thats why Mihawk laughed. Because he realized its just a weird situation Zoro is in and not that he lost himself after getting beaten. And he respects that choice, which is why he agreed to it. Couldnt hurt giving poor Zoro a push in the right direction right? Sorry for the wall of text, just kinda felt the need to THROW my own shit outta here. Much love to yall :)

Its not necessarily Zoro is the "most loyal", this training arc also shows that. Its more of Zoro is a man who is shown as parallel of Luffy. If it weren't for Luffy, Zoro could be Captain of his own crew. When that strong character swallows his pride to beg for his captain or when he takes hit for his crew it seems like he is the most loyal but remember each crew member has a role like even though the monster trio is Luffy Zoro and Sanji, Sanji is also the cook of the ship while Zoro is the only sole swordsman/combatant of the ship so he is fulfilling the responsibility of being Luffy's support in attack and taking his hits. Yes most of the crewmembers have left at some point but after they all are equally loyal to Luffy. Btw I am a Zoro fan.
It's still funny when I think of Rayleigh figuring Zoro might need some help getting the message 😄 I was looking forward to Franky post time-skip since he had access to Vegapunk's old schematics. I was also curious about Usopp and Nami, and how they might get a power boost. I figured Robin would just go about keeping things secret, Chopper seemed to be going in the doctor/rumble ball direction, and Brook gave me pretty much nothing to go on. I figured Luffy would be explained little by little as we followed the crew. Sanji... And I thought Zoro might have some inner thoughts about his training a bit sooner than it turned out. No matter how good you guys are at predicting the future sometimes, I doubt you'll guess who Luffy bumps into at Sabaody though.
To this day I still don't know why Mihawk hadn't thought of training someone to fight anyway. His bored ass had been sailing around the east blue mercing low level pirates. He was literally spawn killing. Seal clubbing even.
First half is done and i m glad have follower you guys every day, cause u are really good reactors. To be honest i m not gonna follow every episode of next arcs, since i dont like so much what they did for animation. Anyway i m gonna back to see you in some topic moment. Btw the baboon master isn't as strong as Mihawk since even if their swords look the same, Mihawk's sword is the one true part of the 12 Supreme Grade Blades.
