I am infinitely envious of the German public to be able to see this musical in a venue that's been constructed to maximize the effectiveness of this show's staging. You just can't get this much love for Starlight Express here in the United States. We are a nation of people desperately trying to be "cool kids" instead of simple enjoyments. Most Americans couldn't make this as successful as it is in Bochum.
He must be electric, because that high note certainly shocked me!

Was there yesterday with my daughter for her birthday present she loved the whole Show. For me it was the 3rd visit and Im always speechless and watch it with goosebumps.....what I miss is electras lighted irokese that was awesome and way better then this glitter cap instead of the glowing irokese. Starlight express is the best Musical on this Planet and without comparison
I haven’t thought about Starlight in like 10 years. But now. I’m back.. AND OMG I’VE BEEN MISSING OUT - THIS IS AMAZING!!!
Used to love it back when I was younger. Always sang along to the 1993 cast recording, and later also the original London cast recording. Saw it live in London in the early 2000’s, and then again on tour in Copenhagen (want to say like… 2007?), but that production didn’t really do anything for me.
And, like, I’ve always known that there was a production running in Bochum. But the language barrier just kept me from investigating further. And I actually speak a respectable conversational German, it just wouldn’t feel “right” if it wasn’t in English, I guess. Until like two weeks ago.
Aaaaand now, I’ve consumed all the content on UA-cam, I’ve seen the German 45 mins behind the scenes, docu, I’ve even found and reached out to some bootleggers (hot damn they are much harder to find that I had imagined btw!!), and you bet that the second the current apocalypse is over, and it’s safe to do so, I’ll be on my way to Bochum!
And yes, I’ll be spending whatever ridiculous sum of money they’re asking to sit front row in one of those 360 degrees rotating chairs haha! I mean how cool is that hahaha! Rotating chairs at a musical?? I’m so freaking excited!! :D
And now, like with this video, it’s been up for 18 hours, and almost has 200 views. And the uploader has less than 100 subs, so that means that there are still people right now searching for, and consuming Starlight Express content. Which makes me so happy!
Now, where the hell do you all hang out online? I normally use reddit to get involved in online communities, but you guys obviously don’t, so where are you hiding? Is there like an old school message board somewhere where I can go to unashamedly enjoy this glorious absolute banger of an over-the-top heartwarming musical? :) … Seriously asking…
When I first started out trying to get bootlegs of it I had to search into the depths of the internet especially for this one. I do trade starlight stuff so if you want to leave your email I can help you out. Yeah there are more Starlight traders out there I just got into the musical last year. It's funny as I have been in the Apollo Victoria for Wicked so many times and did not realise it used to be in there :) I will be setting up a discord for it soon maybe if I have time.

I seriously say that the price they charge for the 360 seats is worth it.
I sat in them the last time I was there and I had the time of my life. So much interaction with the actors. They are soooo nice and I smiled constantly and actually cried because it was so surreal sitting so close to the action. I cannot recommend it enough! So yeah I wish you the best of luck for getting those seats. We had tickets for them in August but because of the current situation it isn't possible to go so we have to wait for them to give us our next Date. I think that they'll start selling tickets when they are done with giving the people who were supposed to go new Dates. But after that it's gonna be be fast or you won't get any so I'd recommend keeping a good eye on them.
Also if you haven't guessed I'm German. (What a surprise)
Also do some stage dooring if you're there I can only recommend it. They are literally the nicest people ever.

Kukalaka Nickyerknockerzoff it’s annoying as I was going to try and see him in Bochum before his last show but coronavirus hit and the new cast is suppose to start next month which it is unlikely it will reopen till September. Yeah he does kill it every time. Hope he comes back to the role one day.
@@iamelectric8525 oh noooo i'm so,so sorry. They'd already started with social distancing performances as well prior to the lockdown as well apparently, so hopefully they'll reopen soon. I have a friend who was due to start as a swing in the new cast as well, think he'd just started rehearsals or was in the middle of them as lockdown happened. I think he's back over here now. Im hoping that they'll re-open again soon, though it will be odd at first with the new seating arrangements. Thats the way the new world we're living in and how theatres and concerts will be for while i think though. :-(

I definitely like the new Electra costume feels less 80s and yeah his voice is amazing.
@@iamelectric8525 I've now come around to CB's new costume as well. It definitely fits in with the changes to his character (I liked psychopath CB better but eh, what can you do) and it's looks rather lovely. Also digging the energy between him and Electra, teheh.
