Wow !! Wow !! Wow !!! This lecture is mind blowing .... knock your socks off !!! So wonderfully insightful .... so much that just finally makes total sense. You've given me homework for the next six months. Thank you so much for your generosity.
That was very insightful. It was insightfully technical (or technically insightful) but helping the learning photographer understand the emotion conveyed through portraiture.
Fascinating getting into your mind and seeing your process. Also, your humanness really shows through. I like that you express that it's not an easy genre; there are so many people who discuss portraiture and give a sense that it is a very simple process that one does on autopilot, but you express how thoughtfulness is involved.
Simply fantastic and touched on many of the aspects I felt within my self, particularly about the importance of connecting with people. That's always been important to me in other ways in my life and this is just one more to add to it
Chris, thank you for sharing your inspiring view of capturing great portraits through connecting with the subject regardless of the gear that is used. Well done B&H for providing another fantastic education service to the photography community.
What a great talk by you Chris, thank you so much! When you talked about "letting your daughters go" and her "taking flight" while looking at the bride overlooking Yosemite I noticed the horizon line framed by Half Dome and the (unknown) mountain on the left kind of make the shape of spread angel wings. Is that just me, or was that intended all along?? 😊
Bought the book! Thanks for the incredible insights. I do wonder how often you walk with someone and are struck by inspiration vs just having to 'do the work of a photographer'? It seems rare to simply get lucky, but I wonder if that changes as skill increases. What has your experience been, Chris?
Hello Chris, Thank you. I enjoyed it very much. I like it very much that you also present your thoughts and feelings. I also see it that the one who takes the better photos is the one who builds a relationship as opposed to the photographers who only look at the technique. See you soon hp
Many thanks for this amazing and so inspiring video. I would love to be with you in 2024 but instead I'' be there via Astral Travel. My spirit guide and father, Archangel Michael, keeps saying I need to go to USA. I sense your spiritual, soulful energy and transference of same into your work. Thank you for the guidance on how to hone in to specific area of photography. GOD bless you and all the work you do.
Strange how he sounds normal on this and all the other interviews I've seen but in the audiobook he is just unbareable. It's a really heavy experience to listen to the over-the-top enlighten and kind narrator speaking for nearly eight hours which is a shame as the book has really good approach to photography and some really good insights.
