Goff, however got a crucial fourth and goal completion to an injured tight end and then made great throws to keep the drive alive at the end to run out the clock.
He did have that one overthrow of a wide-open Kupp that sailed out of bounds. He played out of his mind overall. Amazing performance in an amazing game.
No mention of the terrible false start call. Lions would have had 1st and 10, Rams territory, 3 timeouts. Less than 2 minutes first half. Had to punt. Rams offsides, no one moves on offensive line

remember his comments when Campbell was first hired - something like 'this wont end well' . amazing how talking heads can keep their jobs while being so wrong. FS1 has so many fools - how do they stay in business?
The Rams put more offense on the field than the Lions and they lost but Colin just can't say it Dan Campbell out coached Sean McVay. He was more aggressive and he trusted his players. That was the difference.
How about the crap call on the Lions, with a minute left before half-time, the Rams were off sides. They call the Lions for false start(Taylor Decker) even the ref announcer told Collinsworth and Torico it was terrible call.
Refs made up for it with that obvious PI call that wasn’t called for Puka on 3rd and 14 for the game winning drive. Bad calls and no calls happen all the time, just be glad it didn’t happen with the game on the line like it did to the Rams.
@@TCT24 The reason N.Suh hates Stafford, and many Lions fans hate Stafford is simple. The 2014-2015 playoff game against Dallas. Jerry Jones gets flags picked up against his defense on a text book interference call, committed by Anthony Hitchens, Stafford pass to Brandon Pettigrew, plus Dez Bryant unsportsmanlike penalty flag was picked up, he ran onto the field without his helmet arguing with the officials. Lions were up 20-17 five minutes left, the Lions get a td. It's a two possession game. The penalty was announced at AT&T stadium, the penalties are walked off. Lions would of been on the Dalls 18 yard line. The officials call a time out. Jones is talking to one of the officials on the stadium communication phone, from his luxury box. The reverse both penalties. Never happened in the history of the NFL. The Lions are called for holding on the next play. Dallas would win 24-20. Stafford complained on the field. He said nothing to the media, in his press conference. Jim Caldwell said nothing. It's ironic, Jarod Goff two weeks ago, had the balls in his press conference, to say "I'm probably going to get fined," Taylor Decker reported to the official, Dan Skipper didn't. Jones got those flags thrown at the Lions, after the legal, perfectly, executed two point conversion.
Packers can be bullied. I think they are overmatched, but I would love to be wrong. I don't see Philly as a good team. I respect Tampa, but their qb is hurt.
I live in the D off 8-mile. Love you Matt Stafford! I was at a toys for tots drive this past Christmas when 2 u-hauls showed up full of toys from Matt and his Family. He didnt need to do that.
That’s not Stafford fault that’s McVay’s fault for abandoning the run game when it’s first and goal. He does it all season long its sickening. Hats off to the Lions though.
@@kim.jong.skillz It’s not an excuse, even Chris Collinsworth was talking about the Rams not running the ball. I’m a Rams fan I watched every game this season and have watched McVay’s stupid tendencies to throw 3 passes when it’s first and goal and settling for field goals. I don’t care how good you are the defense has to respect the run.
@@kim.jong.skillz the Rams had the 8th ranked redzone offense (4th on the road). with the 31st ranked O-Line. In 2023. I dam sure wouldn't point a finger at Stafford.
They struggled today, but their receivers are meant to look good in space, there isn't space in the Redbone, on the flipside detroits secondary looks bad covering the whole field, but holds up in the redzone
I really love seeing Jared Goff succeed. Everyone, including himself, was down on him after the Rams trade and just the way he was perceived not to be a franchise guy anymore. I mean the Rams literally threw him in that trade as a salary dump, and I'm not even convinced at the time the Lions had any meaningful plans to keep him as a long term starter. But here he is 3 years later giving Detroit a division title and a playoff win.
You're damn right about Stafford, Colin, (he has been one of the best QBs to ever play the game for a long time) so WHY do you keep saying "he's 35, MAYBE he's got 2 years left" - when he's 5 years younger than Rodgers and 10 younger than Brady and STILL playing like this?! 🤯
I would agree with everything you said with the exception of ownership. Sheila Ford Hamp has been awesome, she changed the culture of the Lions since she took over in 2020, we are lucky to have her.
Awesome to see Goff v. Stafford and both of them absolutely slinging it. Kudos to Matthew, might have gotten booed but we all love him. Quick aside, can you please speak to the insane False start call when the Rams CLEARLY jumped offside on that fourth down play in the second half?
Jared Goff DID NOT outduel Patrick Mahomes due to the fact Mahomes doesn't play DEFENSE, Take that up with his 31st rank Defense that season, Patrick Mahomes numbers in that game 33-46 478yds 6tds QBR 76.5. Passer rating 117.6 . Jared Goff 31-49 413yds 4tds QBR 73.3. Passer Rating 117.1.
Colin- You are wrong about the Lions ownership. The turn-around all really started when Sheila Ford Hamp took over the team. It was her who made the decisions to bring both Holmes and Campbell on board (probably with advice from people like Spielman, who she also brought on). From there it is a team effort: neither Campbell nor Holmes could do it without the other. Together though, the sky's the limit. But it all starts with Sheila.
Imagine slipping into a coma in 2019, waking up today, and trying to make sense of this. “Stafford…. Rams…. Goff….. Lions…… What is this asshole talking about???” But seriously, as happy as I am with Goff, seeing Stafford make some of those throws made me miss him again.
One of the best games. Rams elevated in the second half and Detroit hung around. Congrats to The Den! Looks good on that fan base! Good luck against the Niners! We're rooting for you!
Skip over the blatant wrong call on Decker in the first half. Which would have very likely been 7 or 3 extra points for the Lions going into the half. But make sure you bring up the one that goes against the Rams. This is what Lions fans mean when they complain about it being stacked. Colin very much doing exactly what he is saying the Lions don’t deserve.
The turn around for the lions is most definitely dan campbell... they haven't won a playoff game in over 30 wins, and the 2 real year dan is head coach they win. That is most definitely not a coincidence . Dan the biggest reason. We see the chargers have a great roster too, great drafting. Where are they right now. give dan the credit. Who cares who you draft if you dont have leadership. GO DAN!
I promise you Colin, Lions fans have been giving Brad Holmes' praise for years. He's probably the only one remembered since Matt Millen, for very different reasons though.
No, we don’t roll our eyes at Dan Campbell. He had a couple lines in his first press conference that were a little silly. His players look like they’re willing to die for him, and he’s brought this team out of the dregs into second round playoffs
Stafford: 12 years in Detroit, constantly beat up but keeps playing, makes insane throws......no one talks about him/gives him credit. Goes to LA and does the same shit and Collinsworth and everyone else in NFL media gushes over him. Unbelievable. DET vs Everybody
“I don’t think they have the best ownership”. The owner is the reason the team is successful my dude. Shiela took over the team and immediately understood what she doesn’t understand. She hired the right ppl to make the decisions and it’s working. She deserves all the credit lol
Always liked Goff at qb, but Stafford made some incredible throws. Gotta be happy for both of them. Best game of the weekend by far. Since I have family in Detroit, go Lions. Also, go Texans. We won't mention the other Tx team after that embarrassing game. Hint: not the Spurs.

The offsides that wasn't called in the first half stopped Detroit from scoring at the end of the half. Based on previous play, all indications were Detroit would have had 7 more points. So I see the calls as a wash.

remember his comments when Campbell was first hired - something like 'this wont end well' . amazing how talking heads can keep their jobs while being so wrong. FS1 has so many fools - how do they stay in business?
Because they get clicks. That’s what matters to the network.
I think you are right about Brad but don’t sleep on Dan Campbell
First Lions playoff win in 32 years!
Matt Stafford deserves recognition for his toughness man. Hes kinda soft spoken but jeeze he can fight through some pain
You can always count on Colin riding Sean McVay's jockstrap. Congratulations Lions.
Yep this was pathetic
He thinks McVay is good-looking but is that really so important, Colin?
Im so proud of my team we did it Detroit 30 years. Go Lions
I’m from Jackson mi. Last night was like a Super Bowl win for us. I’ll tell ya, our D needs to stop those 3rd and long.
Awesome game
GO LIONS what a game
I don't understand your reluctance to give Campbell his flowers, but it was a good game. I look forward to Detroit and San Fran.
Still gotta take care of business in the divisional round. Looking ahead won’t turn out good.
Niners got there hands full with the Packers who looked unreal today first. I dont want to look past the Pack or we will be limping like Dallas
Packers can be bullied. I think they are overmatched, but I would love to be wrong. I don't see Philly as a good team. I respect Tampa, but their qb is hurt.
The ownership has been bad but Sheila has been the difference maker.
I thought I was going to hate this commentary, but he is brutally honest, and I loved it.
I live in the D off 8-mile. Love you Matt Stafford! I was at a toys for tots drive this past Christmas when 2 u-hauls showed up full of toys from Matt and his Family. He didnt need to do that.
After Calvin Johnson retired. Stafford always had trouble in the red zone. He still does. The more field goals you kick, the more losses you compile.
That’s not Stafford fault that’s McVay’s fault for abandoning the run game when it’s first and goal. He does it all season long its sickening. Hats off to the Lions though.
@@marctorrez774stop makkng excuses. #9 is a mvp qb, he should be able to deliver in the red zone.
Goff did in Detroit what Stafford could never do. Big arm and all.
Thats not right
As for a Rams game I’m sad. But if any team we could lose from, I’m glad it was Lions. They deserve it. I hope they make it all the way.
As a long time rams fan I'm not to upset ,lions fans needed this 😅
Colin the energy vampire, did you watch the game? Detroit's Red zone defense won the game for them! And how dare disrespect our Sheila?
I really love seeing Jared Goff succeed. Everyone, including himself, was down on him after the Rams trade and just the way he was perceived not to be a franchise guy anymore. I mean the Rams literally threw him in that trade as a salary dump, and I'm not even convinced at the time the Lions had any meaningful plans to keep him as a long term starter. But here he is 3 years later giving Detroit a division title and a playoff win.
You're damn right about Stafford, Colin, (he has been one of the best QBs to ever play the game for a long time) so WHY do you keep saying "he's 35, MAYBE he's got 2 years left"
- when he's 5 years younger than Rodgers and 10 younger than Brady and STILL playing like this?! 🤯
Absolutely amazing game. Couldn't be better.
The Lion & Ram game is the best playoff game so far. It may be the best game depending on today's games.
I would agree with everything you said with the exception of ownership. Sheila Ford Hamp has been awesome, she changed the culture of the Lions since she took over in 2020, we are lucky to have her.
Love the Lions! Let’s Go!,,
Awesome to see Goff v. Stafford and both of them absolutely slinging it. Kudos to Matthew, might have gotten booed but we all love him. Quick aside, can you please speak to the insane False start call when the Rams CLEARLY jumped offside on that fourth down play in the second half?
You called Stafford and puka insane and yet Detroit beat them? There was an incorrect call just on the lions just before half.....
Yep. We would've been in fg range and potentially could've scored a td with that much time left
The NFL is indeed recognized as an entertainment business
Listen to this joker praise the Rams and Stafford when Detroit won.
“Stafford…. Rams…. Goff….. Lions…… What is this asshole talking about???”
But seriously, as happy as I am with Goff, seeing Stafford make some of those throws made me miss him again.
Great analysis by Cowherd. “Playoff games are more intense”. Lol
Colin saying the lions don’t have Super Bowl winning ownership is a crime. He hasn’t been following like he should. Sheila is amazing.
Jared Goff was 22/22 and threw his touchdown when he faced pressure last night.
One of the best games. Rams elevated in the second half and Detroit hung around.
Congrats to The Den! Looks good on that fan base!
Good luck against the Niners! We're rooting for you!
Hung around? They never trailed the whole game
@@arthurfonzarelli9828
They hung on in the second half. Against a very seasoned Rams side.
LFG LIONS! JG16 we love him. Great victory.
This dude taks with such confidence for someone who is always wrong 😆
The turn around for the lions is most definitely dan campbell... they haven't won a playoff game in over 30 wins, and the 2 real year dan is head coach they win. That is most definitely not a coincidence . Dan the biggest reason.
We see the chargers have a great roster too, great drafting. Where are they right now. give dan the credit. Who cares who you draft if you dont have leadership. GO DAN!
Both of my picks won today! GO LIONS! GO PACKERS!!!!
Detroit stand up! A natty and a playoff win in the same week!!
Stafford: 12 years in Detroit, constantly beat up but keeps playing, makes insane throws......no one talks about him/gives him credit. Goes to LA and does the same shit and Collinsworth and everyone else in NFL media gushes over him. Unbelievable. DET vs Everybody
Best playoff game so far
It started when Shelia Ford Hamp took over from her mother, Martha Ford. The Lions transformation started at the Top.
Don't understand all the love for Stafford when his season stats are waaay lower than goff. (Except for interceptions.)
Lions going to the super bowl
“I don’t think they have the best ownership”. The owner is the reason the team is successful my dude. Shiela took over the team and immediately understood what she doesn’t understand. She hired the right ppl to make the decisions and it’s working. She deserves all the credit lol
Matt Stafford is so so good. If he suits up, he’s rams MVP
Matt has always been this talented just took him leaving the city for him to get recognition literally has had one of the best arms his entire career and only now is he being respected as a top 5 player
Love this take! You earned me as a subscriber. This is way better than the show and all the corporate setting bull crap I hope this podcast continues for a long time!
Detroit is getting better on defense. Just watch ❤ it was a very good game. Go Detroit lions
The offsides that wasn't called in the first half stopped Detroit from scoring at the end of the half. Based on previous play, all indications were Detroit would have had 7 more points. So I see the calls as a wash.
