Agreed! Can't beat good times with fishing buddies. I went out and bought one of those nets after this trip. I think it is a must have when fishing this place in the future. Thank you!
@BackroadsAngling yeah I will have to try and up my jig size. I also want to try some vertical jigging off bridges too. I think some people catch some nice fish at the cville dam doing that.
You've been having some good luck with the fall walleye! Some awesome fish! I've thought about trying around that spot, was always nervous about parking there and getting towed though. You've never had any issues? Great video!
Thanks, I feel like the walleye fishing has been better for both numbers and size in this river this year. Maybe the high water during the spring helped. I used to park across the street next to the shops but then I saw some old timers parking right next to the restaurant with no problems. It is out of business now so I don't think anyone cares.
We have a dam just like that but there is Some guys that stand in the water blocking everyone from casting. In Michigan your supposed to be 500 ft from dam but it's a city thing and they don't do nothing about it. Only time you can fish from shore and do good is when water high
A lot of our dams here are roller dams on the smaller side so usually we can get good access right below it. Sounds like your situation is more complicated.
I agree. Only problem is I bought one and now I can't seem to catch a fish from these elevated platforms. The net jinx is strong with me. Thanks for watching!
I think it's fine dropping them in from that height. Colorado stocks trout by dropping them from a helicopter. Nice video man! That's a hot bite for cold water
Your lucky you can fish spill ways over here in Massachusetts the fish are all protected from fishing or jail time and 10 000 thousands dollar fines our river goes in to 7 states in to Canada Iam sure there are monsters in the race way spill way here !!!!!!!
Awesome stuff. That catfish that one guy caught was super fat, looked full of eggs or shad. The saugeyes you caught are beauts. Native fish are always more fun to catch than regular walleye because you know for sure theyre not stocked. Great vid!
Thanks, it was a very bloated catfish. I'm surprised there are so many saugeyes. Everyone always talks about walleye not reproducing in our rivers due to silt and other factors but I've caught way more saugeyes than walleye this fall.
Nothing better than the comradery of fellow angles. That was a really nice net that guy has. I would have not thought of that set-up.

Nice fishing. I've been trying to learn how to fish off bridges better lately. I find it hard to keep the bait in the water when jigging.
@@jgs1703 I’m the same. It’s hard to keep the bait on the bottom. I use extra weight so I can feel it hitting bottom. Thank you for watching!

@@jgs1703Try using braid as well, less stretch so you can feel the bites better when you have a huge bow in your line from being so high up.
@ ya a jigging spoon can be deadly along some of these walls.
@@zanethemasterbaiter I've been using braid more

Nice video walleye whisperer!
Not quite the walleye whisperer but I've been finding a few! Thank you!
How good! Great vid
Thank you!
Those are some nice size, great eating walleyes!
@@chengcha9289 yes they would have been good eaters!

Those rope nets are worth the price. We have wing walls that require you to use them here. Nice catch!

@@BackroadsAngling I have that same problems with fishing rods!
Need to get a pier net homie

@@EngineeringHooksets ya I think you’re right. As long as it’s deep and they go in head first they are good. Thanks, almost time for ice fishing.
@BackroadsAngling Any chance you got a 3rd person pic with that crappie on the Banshee? (For my website)
@ no I didn’t sorry. I will start taking better pics with your lures.
@ I’ll also put a link in description.
my heart dropped when that fella grabbed the line, thankfully it wasn’t a monster or that could’ve ended badly
@@zanethemasterbaiter ya imagine it was a 20lb flatty.

Yes, I agree it is nice to access to these spillways. I can imagine if yours isn't fished then there must be fish stacked in there.
I wondered when you were going to post that fish😂
@@AvidAngler21 I’m a little behind
@ I figured when I hear the water temperatures you say in videos
Why didn’t you just release them above the dam?
I wanted to put them back where they came from

@BackroadsAngling I caught more saugeyes during summer than walleyes that's what's crazy
