So cute!! ❤️ Also one thing I noticed, at 1:50 when you show the plastic frame over the tub-the plant in there is real, yes? It’s a _Philodendron hederaceum_ 'Lemon Lime', or 'Neon' as it’s called sometimes. Anyway, I’m not sure if the Araceae family (aroids-philodendrons, pothos, peace lilies, monstera, elephant ears, etc) is among the "bad" plant families for chelonians to consume, but I think they may be… I only mention it in case your baby gets curious and tries to nibble on those leaves! 😯
You’ve heard of "dumb cane" aka _Dieffenbachia_ before? The genus that, if you ingest it, your throat swells from anaphylactic shock (apparently), and you can’t speak, i.e. rendering you "dumb"? Well, most ppl freak out about Dieffenbachias yet never seem to mention the rest of the aroids. Anthuriums, Alocasia, Colocasia, Syngonium, Caladium, Rhaphidophora. So many popular genera. The entire family of aroids can just be called dumbcane in my opinion. They’re mildly irritating, at best, for most other animals including people, but can be potentially lethal, at their worst. Just saying! 😉 Aroids, and many other plant families too, contain high concentrations of calcium oxalates (crystals), which can potentially have negative affects if ingested. Yes, people in some cultures cook taro leaf (I’ve eaten it), but that’s normally steamed, and cooked beyond recognition. Lol. I’ve also cooked it myself but apparently it wasn’t "well-done" enough, since it felt like I was swallowing sand and glass constantly, for an entire day afterwards. 😂 In really bad cases, calcium oxalates can cause kidney stones, anaphylactic shock, and even death for sensitive people/animals.
I am more interested in the spotted turtles because I got one myself and it's doing amazing but information is hard to find as they endangered and not much studies are done on them 😢
I got a peninsula turtle which turned out to be a venusta turtle.... But that's just fine.
awe,how precious❤I live in the Tampa area,so lots of sun & humidity🥵🥵🥵I put my 10 month old baby redfoot outside,I made her enclosure of big concrete cinder blocks,and the top is half screen and half plywood,and she has her little log to hide,water bowl,a big patch of grass and dirt,leaves and every morning I flood her enclosure with water,nothing to drastic to where she would drown,but just to get her enclosure wet and then she's got the sun & humidity,she soaks herself and I bang her food bowl against the brick and I see her cute little head bobbing through the screen as she comes running,then I walk with her around my yard and she always finds my sulcata sleeping under our huge rubber tree and she tries to climb his head🤣🤣then he wakes up with a very angry look,like oh great,you brought the little brat over,and he gets up and sniffs her and then walks away,I also have a 23 year old RES and a mud turtle,love my shell babies..THEY ARE THE BEST PETS! HI NIBBLES❤🐢

@@Gretchen5446aquatics are harder than land dwellers,I have both,I just say that cause,changing the water,lighting,sand,gravel,decor,turtles are sloppy eaters..food bits leftover,but torts are hard too,thankfully mine all live outside except my mud turtle,but she's easy
@TheLawlessangel7176 I dont mind the work of taking care of my aquatic turtles. I actually like the work. I only have 2 turtles, one in an indoor pond and one in a tank. But I like land turtles too.
@@Gretchen5446 oh ya of course,when you love them like children..its not really work,but I'm 47 with back problems and a very stubborn 9 yro sulcata lol,he's not bad,he just hates when I put him in his kiddie pool to soak,he hates water,I also have a yearling redfoot,my red eared slider turned 23 today and my mud turtle will be 2 at the end of the month,I love my babies more than my husband🤣🤣just kidding,no children,so my shell babies are my world!
