Yassin Terou among pro-Palestinian demonstrators arrested at University of Tennessee

- Police have started arresting pro-Palestinian demonstrators on the University of Tennessee campus.
Yassin Terou, a Knoxville restaurant owner and refugee from Syria, was among the 14 arrestees.
At about 8 p.m., demonstrators were warned to leave the lawn outside the College of Law by Allen Bolton, UT's interim senior vice chancellor for finance and administration. He said demonstrators could move to the Student Union lawn, which was reserved for them.
He told the activists to leave within 10 minutes. After that time, police started arresting demonstrators.

It wasn't about the protest itself, it was about the property on which it was taking place. They were told to move the protest to another part of campus and they refused. That's why the arrests took place.

I’m going to assume you are in fact concerned for the health and safety of the Palestinians and not a radical hell bent on the distraction of Israel as a state… because most Israelis would agree with the principles you espouse. The issue standing in the way of the health and safety of the Palestinians are many. Most immediately is the fact that their captors, Hamas, have chosen to:
1. wage war (breaking the ceasefire that existed on Oct 6th) in a heinous way that communicates their resolve to act upon their carter, which calls for the genocide of Israelis. This was intentionally designed to be an act that would demand the removal of Hamas. Something so difficult that the peace/life loving neighbors opted to put up with rockets being fired at them for 19 years and did not enter Gaza to destroy Hamas because of the complexity and inevitability of loss of life.
2. Took hostages which are still in Gaza being raped and tortured.
3. use every possible means to integrate the citizens of Gaza directly into the line of fire. How you ask? Why would someone stand in the line of fire knowingly and die? There has been more than 20 years of education valorizing death and demonizing Jews. The greatest thing these people (who don’t have anything to begin with ) are taught to do is die as a martyr.
4. Refuse to put down weapons and return the hostages. Hamas is the only entity that can unilaterally effect ceasefire. To demand Israel live with the death of their hostage and a genocidal neighbors is to support the very strategy of Hamas and is in opposition of the innocent children and the Palestinians who are not in full support of what Hamas is doing.
