I’ve messaged you a few times. I started fishing in lockdown, my mate leant me his gear and I bought a few bits and pieces. Since April I’ve caught ledgering with an alarm, touch ledgering, float fishing, free lining, drop shoting and with floating baits. Watched other channels but none were as informal, clever or as funny as yours. I’m yet to try fly fishing or sea as I don’t have the gear but I plan on trying as soon as I can. Thank you G, you’re THE MAN!!
@@TAFishing honestly thank you so much. Your knowledge is amazing, but more importantly your delivery of that knowledge is second to none. You should do a charity style auction where the winner can come and fish with you for a day, I would bid high!!
You always say if your an experienced angler, move on. Well I gave up coarse fishing about 4 years ago and only taught myself so when I came across this video I watched it through from start to finish and picked up a lot of good tips. So much so that I'm going to get out the coarse fishing gear, clean off the cobwebs and give it another go. You have inspired a person of similar age to yourself to come out of retirement. I'm going to spend the rest of this winter hunting for pretty well managed lakes and see what fishing I can do within a 30 mile radius of where I live. Thanks for posting Graeme you are an inspiration.
The saying goes, "you can learn more from a guide in one day than you can in three months fishing alone." This really a informative video for beginners. Thanks for sharing this.
Lot of work on my own as I have to do it all in between other jobs but I love it really...imagine the luxury of being a full time UA-camr...must be heaven.

No worries, hope it helps some anglers out...don't miss Part 2 which is about to go up as I type, and Part 3 (tomorrow-Sunday)...I just film it as it is...there is only me doing it so I get what I get.
Question: Are Carp rods, let's say 12ft 2-3lb, suitable for Catfishing? All the Catfish rods that I can find are too heavy, and very short, which isn't what I prefer.
I just use the Carp rods .I hate fishing with overpowered rods. Of course it depends what size fish you are going for.If its 100 pounders then everything needs upgrading.
@@TAFishing Thanx for reply. No, 30, 40lb at most. Hate it as well, would rather have a decent fight with an okay rod, than going at it with a overpowered broom.
Hi Graeme, nice vid, up to your usual standard. Keep it up mate. While I'm here, please enlighten me about the different rigs we use. i.e why do we only use single hooks when coarse fishing, and sea fishing / shore fishing, rigs of two and three hooks. Is there rules or etiquette involved ?? Just curious....!
I find that difficult to answer..someone must have said its too easy using a treble hook and then a committee had 52 cups of tea and all agreed so it was signed on paper....They then went out Pike fishing with a lure sporting 3 trebles ?? Who knows...anyone out got a comment ?
Hi, I’m writing from Italy, should you post the link of horse’s feed? Do you think I should find it in Italy? Otherwise should you write about the components of horse’s feed, please. Thanks so much, Alessandro
I have never seen someone bait a whole area like that and fish it. It makes sense but is this legal in the US??? It seems fast and productive. Like how some folks bait deer in states where that is allowed.
Here in the UK we are generally allowed to bait up,but in some countries it might not be allowed..I don't really know why. Sometimes on reservoirs I can understand as any uneaten bait might taint the water, but other that that I don't know it would be restricted.
I used to do a lot of it,but so many waters have had Carp stocked in them that the habitat for Tench I feel has changed so there seem less Tench to catch now.
Thanks, you've just given me 2 new film ideas and they just said on TV how knitting is a stress reliever in these troubled times..Maybe I could knit a bivvy ?..it would be topical and fashionable at the same time...And outside the bivvy I could do a flower arrangement, say some early daffodils,a bit of fern and some cichlids ?...I saw a man erect an entire kitchen in a separate gazebo to his bivvy once...amazing...I thought he was there to catch fish but apparently the latest culinary capery is now required...I guess image is everything ??...
@@TAFishing good reply , i was reacting to the title of the video , made me laugh it had a Monty Python quality to it “ HOW TO CATCH FISH “ I attempted sarcasm to it . have to get up earlier in the morning to catch you out . Love the channel keep up the great work .

Could be just the one tip somewhere that gets you that fish.
Brilliant again.
Thanks for the clipping tip Graeme I've been wondering about that great video as always
I thought it worth trying to explain it for newcomers or beginners who want to try using that method for Carp.
Love a bit of crazy filming mate.

Uncle graham u should put a band aid on the lead and then pour the raptor oil over it and let it soak in and it will leach the flavor off ocer time.
That's a good idea,as long as the band aid sticks and doesn't come off in the water.

Just get in touch with some horse riding stables they will get their feed from an agricultural feed supplier and you might find it there.

All that food spent and nothing in the pan.
I guess I don’t have any sense for this.
Covid 19 doesn't exist.
PS: A fishing for beginners video should be WAGGLER style mainly.
You don't exist. And I base that on simple logic, no one could be that stupid.
