Great to see you back man. I don't do a good job highlighting and keeping up with individual games and always looked to and enjoyed your videos. I'll put up a community post for you in the next day or so letting people know Bullet Heaven is back. And yes, the music in this game is fire! 🔥
Don't be so hard on your own efforts, ShmupJunkie. I've had plenty of great recommendations out of your content and am always happy to see one of your videos in my feed. Bullet Heaven is fabulous and the efforts Etrem goes to are obvious in each vid. So glad you are happy for a fellow creator in this way. There's enough fans for ALL of you :-)
I got chills listening to the intro music. So good to have the series back! I definitely need to grab a copy of this game, it looks and sounds awesome.
So great to see you're back. The most comprehensive reference for shooters on YT by far and ,yep, your opinions on games are valued and have helped me pick up some great games and avoid some others.Great review.
What a comeback Etrem, I'm glad you decided to come back in some form. I know how the niche can get at times. I really liked the remixed intro song. The video is as solid as the standard you've always held your content up to, great sound mix, editing and even well filmed takes from your collection in the intro. Glad to have you back, hope you keep going. Now, to the actual topic, Astro Ninja Man DX is insanely fun, no need to be an uber hard 1cc to be enjoyable. I also think it does a lot with the self imposed limitations from the NES hardware. Take care and have fun, this corner of youtube is better with you in it (but don't ever feel _forced_ to do anything either, you be you).
Man I remember seeing this on a livestream somewhere and thought it looks really cool and I'm glad that it turned out to be a really cool indie shoot 'em up game for the Famicom! Thank you for the review and can't wait to see more of your reviews going forward!
Good to have you back. Your videos were a great help to me when I was getting into the genre and feeling overwhelmed by the sheer number of past and present shmups out there, and I'm looking forward to seeing the future of Bullet Heaven.
I'm so glad you and this series are back...the more level-headed style and willingness to connect more deeply with your community is something I very heavily respect. Embracing your history and returning to your roots when necessary is never a bad thing, and it shows in how sleek Series 15(?) looks.
Good to have ya back! And hey! I've been recently addicted to Astro Ninja Man as of late, so the timing is perfect. Hell, I even have the OST on my phone as workout music!
Sooo glad this is back. I love your style & how you dig into the games giving a critique but at the same time not a dunk on it approach. Much appreciated & welcome back!
It's good to see that you've returned. Rebranded your channel as well. You had me worried, not gonna lie. Hopefully you got yourself a copy of Over OBJ for the Famicom.
It's great to see this series back. I really like Casually Hardcore but I truly LOVE Bullet Heaven. This series made me go back and replay some of my childhood favourites and, by sticking with it, discover the awesome new shmups that are out there. Etrem, I owe you and @ShmupJunkie my renewed love of the shooter and I'm happy you felt the time was right to ressurrect this series. Thank you.
So amazingly happy to see this series back in action, and I think the shift in focus is a more sustainable approach. Looking forward to your new finds! ❤
@@StudioMudprints Lol i wouldn't worry about that. The only people who complain about politics in gaming videos are dweebs who don't like playing as a woman in Last of Us, or complain about Tomb Raider not being sexy enough. They're not worth listening to lol
Yes, you know it, the gaming landscape was NOT better without your content. Thank you for restoring it and sharing it with us. Your work is appreciated. Respectfully.
What a good game title to return with. I didn’t know anything about it and when I heard the music I was immediately thinking “hey that reminds me of Recca ‘92 - that’s cool” so it was fun when you got to talking about the music and I realized it was very much meant to be that way. :) I am glad that you are back and posting again. I enjoyed the first video back, look forward to what you do in future ones and wish you lots of luck with all this. Cheers!
That intro song, even remixed, now gives me strong feelings of nostalgia...has it been that long? Oh?.. It's been longer? geez. As far as the game: looks awesome, the base attack made me think of Ki blasts in DBZ, which adds a comedic flare to the constant barrage from the shadows as well. Anyways, look forward to the next one!
Riki does some incredible stuff on the platform, and the artists that provide the music know how to squeeze out almost everything the Famicom has to offer!
I have no faith in the algorithm. However, as a newly sponsorless, hobbyist content creator, I am now here for nothing more than to talk about cool games I want to play! I hope everyone will enjoy my thoughts and topics~!
It wasn't even really money tbh, just the weight of the expectations and numbers of games publishers sent along, it all collapsed. Free games aren't really worth it, especially when they turn out to be serious duds... which happened more than I care to admit.
Really great to hear your in depth thoughts on this game - it looks n sounds sooo good. One of those for a future wish list, awesome to see Bullet Heaven back!!
Followers of the Astro Ninja Man franchise will find Astro Ninja Man DX a worthy addition to the canon IMO. There is both an astro and a ninja element.
Happy to see you back. Your videos are always such high quality stuff. I know shmup only can get pretty repetitive after a while, you should definitely venture off once in a while. Maybe you already have and I missed it but im sure it'll keep your work fresh!
There's something beautifully nostalgic with the opening music riff. For some reason it took me back to when I bought my Game Boy in 1990 with my own money.
Gosh, the presentation here is knocking out of the park, I can't believe the visuals they're squeezing out of the Famicom. No Pause button is a pretty heinous oversight in my personal opinion, but maybe less so in a game this short. Also, dude, I am so glad your back, and I'm excited about the new direction for the series, too! UA-cam isn't the same without ya.
Some games don;t have the ability to pause in the interest of being competitive, but I'm not so sure with this one. The scoring isn't especially deep, yet it does have a layer of challenge behind it to squeeze out the best score possible...
Hopefully this game comes to PC without any of it NES's flaws of slowdowns, etc. Cuz I know the EXA version is just gonna be an arcade exclusive. No pausing in this game is a major sin but this game still looks awesome.
Where the heck have you been? My goodness. Have had nothing, couldn't even get the backlog of stuff. All good though. Your back thats all that matters. Yes! Love it! Thank you! You've definitely been missed. Wait a minute? I've not had notice of the change, not gotten any notification from UA-cam. And this popped up randomly. The hell. Was I blocked? Sorry if I said something stupid. I didn't have to re sub or anything.
Hm? No, you're not blocked. This was a major concern before I went dark; UA-cam hasn't been properly letting folks know of new content. I have, however, chosen to hold all comments for review though. There's a lot of negativity out there that no one needs to put up with, and these videos are meant to be fun, not a source of strife.
Hey didn't this actually come out much earlier with a really cool packaging? Kind of a famicom cartridge sized cassette case. I always wanted it but it sold out pretty quickly.
Yes, tge original was 2021, I believe. DX is markedly different though, and released by Columbus Circle in a more standardized famicom packaging. I do plan on getting the 1.0 release too tho!
Love that opening! But no slow pan of the Mega Drive/Genesis hardware? This lack of respect will not go unnoticed! It only has minor titles like Thunder Force IV so I can see how it would be overlooked 😢
Yes, I couldn't get 8-Bit Music Power Encore, Kira Kira Star Night DX, and Neo Heyankyo Alien to run on the AVS. I don;t imagine the AVS will be patched for those any time soon. They all work on original hardware and Columbus Circle's DIY kit though.

The game is very impressive for the hardware and looks super fun.

Oh hey Tremblay. Missed Bullet Heaven! Glad to see you back at it brother.
So great to see Bullet Heaven back! One of my fave shows on youtube!
Great review, amazing that technically impressive games worth buying are still appearing for 40(!!!) year old hardware.
Riki does some incredible stuff on the platform, and the artists that provide the music know how to squeeze out almost everything the Famicom has to offer!
congrats on the revival, hope it unfolds to be something you can continuously be happy with, proud of, and satisfied to look back on
Great to see you back again Etrem I really did miss seeing your reviews

Awesome to have more bullet heaven episodes again :)

When that classic Bullet Heaven title theme beat drops...I've missed this so much, and was waiting for someone to give a review of this game a shot.
Thank you thank you thank you ❤
So happy to see a video from you again
Glad ShmupJunkie mentioned you mate, great content and video ! Subbed !
Thanks for the sub! God knows UA-cam's algorithm can't be counted on, after all
Welcome back! You have been missed!
damn we have all missed you bro. Great to see you and dae back!. keep up the great work please.
Welcome back! You've been missed.
That shooting animation cracks me up. They could've called this Raving Ninjas and added some psychedelic lights
Love the look of this game, and welcome back!

This looks like a no more heroes mini game. Travis would approve
There's something beautifully nostalgic with the opening music riff. For some reason it took me back to when I bought my Game Boy in 1990 with my own money.
Oh dude, samesies. Those were bright days, and the Game Boy was (and still is, imo) just the best.
Appreciate the new episode! I enjoy this series very much and I'm glad it's back 😁
