Just rewatched the entire series like a month ago on UA-cam, all the full episodes are actually are on UA-cam. I loved watching it when I was like 11-13 & definitely enjoyed rewatching it again how was a 26 year old! Although I will say that I never saw Season 3 until this last rewatch, & while not terrible, definitely not even close to being as good as the first 2 seasons. If the actress that played emma couldn’t come back to film season 3, they shouldn’t have don’t it or just waited until she could. Or instead of an entire season, they could have just ended with a TV movie type thing. But regardless of all that, rewatching the first 2 seasons again was an unexpected joy! Also, I agree with you. Rikki is an iconic queen!
I don't hate season 3 that much but I think its an example of why fans begging for more isn't a good thing I like bella but I wonder if we needed her did we need anyone to replace emma at all
Lol I remember going through a phase where I would tell any random kid I met when swimming at the lake that I was a mermaid, but only underwater - that's why my leg would be a leg again if I brought it up to show them, of course. I never saw this show, but little me still KNEW haha
I think its so funny how as a kid I watched both ocean girl and h2o (also an Australian show called elephant princess...maybe magical animal related shows is an Australian thing)
I am mortally wounded by your disregard of the 90s and early 00s classic that is Ocean Girl. You have no idea how many hours me and every other young Aussie girl spent in the pool doing the iconic Ocean Girl swim. It was seriously a great show though, real weird ending tho
To be fair, she never really helped them. Instead of speaking clearly, she left them confused and never told them they would only lose their powers for 12 hours. Makes for a fun story, but it was really irresponsible. What if the girls transformed in full sight?
Oh, god. I've been on Effexor since I was maybe... 17? I'm 38 now. It's been a literal lifesaver, but the withdrawal symptoms are the worst. I feel for you.
5:47 you never been bullied? 11:43 you trust your parents? At the time I was watching as a child, I really liked that there wasn't one central villain "you were given these powers to fight evil" type of superhero-esque thing. They were just given some super powers and weaknesses and dealt with incorporating them into their lives. The last season kind of messed with that but I really liked the character of Bella (Emma was my least favourite, this is relevant) and she pretty much saved the season for me with the power of jello.
its so wild to me as an australian that people outside of aus watched this strange show. also you should do an episode on the tv show round the twist, it traumatised entire generations here. i love your videos tho ty for making them, they've been great to binge and fall down all these rabbit holes
OMG hearing you talk about Effexor brought me back to when I was getting off that drug. It was the worst time of my life so I can attest to your body’s reaction to withdrawals. It took me months to fully recover from that laborious process of slowly weening off. Props to you my friend 👍🏼. Also I have been slowly getting through your videos and I love the topics you choose and your nuanced commentary!
I remember loving this show and being a particular fan of Cleo (probably bc she’s very ND-coded so I could relate to her) and the Nickelodeon website wrote a really unnecessarily mean profile description for her and it actually hurt my feelings 😢
My withdrawal symptoms from my SSRI lasted about 6 weeks, but I've felt so much better over all since weaning off and beginning alternative therapies over a year ago. It does get better!!! I'm excited to hear what you have to say about one of my favorite kids shows 💓

I'm sorry you're dealing with medication issues. You have found such a long-term subscriber in me!! I've been on a binge for these last couple of days and finding this series about one of my most favourite, never-missed-an-episode, magical teen drama has made me so happy 😆🥰
- ok first off you're very funny, love your vibe, will subscribe immediately - second, this is incredibely timed because i just rewatched a bunch of h2o episodes, not all of it because it's still pretty fresh in my memory from my last full rewatch, just like the greatest hits or the stuff that's fuzzy for me, and also mainly, this watch i was focused on character dynamics, and one fo my favourite ones is rikki and lewis's friendship, like their relationship is such a background one, but like, they're essentially besties and i love that for them. it's so interesting to see dynamics, like how zane and emma interact, it's very "we're childhood friends that grew apart but our parents still hang so we have to be civilized in front of them" vibe, and you can really see it, like there are moments that zane has with everyone where you're like right, zane grew up with them, he might be a major dick, but you still have little moments of niceness that show thay have history - also yes, rikki and jade from victorious give off he absolute same vibe of the angry bisexual friend lmao - because i have seen the first episode so much, i was kinda looking at other things and i've never realized this until right now, but the first outfits zane and rikki are wearing basically mirror each other, nice foreshadowing and lewis's shirt is purple, which is cleo's main color that she's also wearing, wow, the costume department really went for it in that pilot, nice - along with rewatching h2o, i also rewatched a bunch of mako mermaids, because i just really love the vibes, it's so interesting to see how the shows are similar and different, and i also love the concept of a merman. and i was watching other jonhathan m shciff shows like elephant princess, and im debating if i should rewatch alien surf girls because i like it but not that much lmao, i like the surfing part, don't really care about he alien parts - ive been waiting for someone to do a longerh2o video, ive honestly been debating if i should do one lmao, im happy you did, great stuff!
Now listen, I am from Germany and while we do get channels like nickelodeon etc. here, my mother never allowed me to watch these shows or really anything during daytime. Instead, my sisters and I were stuck with watching this lovely channel called "kika" (basically a German abbreviation for kids channel) from 7 to 9 P.M each night. This countiued on until I was around 10 or 11 when we finally subscribed to amazon Prime TV. Until then one of the only shows I was allowed to watch that wasn't meant fir three year olds was h2o just add water and it changed me in ways i cannot even describe. This show, in all seriousness, had a chokehold on 9-year-old me and to this day I am so thankful for absolute gem. Also, as someone who has watched and rewatched the TVD spin off show "The originals" countless of times, because I have since grown to enjoy unnecessarily violent and slightly hysteric teen dramas, I now feel even more nostalgic when rewatching H2o after seeing Claire and Phoebe absolutely slaying in their respective roles.
Whiles rewatching this show I have leaned to realise how Mature Rikki Is like she’s actually the most mature out of the girls ofc she makes mistakes sometimes everyone does but most of the time she’s right and the show and characters try to make her out to be out of control, reckless and immature when she’s actually not she’s brave, confident and honest and I really like her character a lot she has a lot of development and I like Cleo and Emma to but Rikki is more interesting

“H20” was the reason I fancied so much the Australian accent and wanting to visit Golden Cost and the sea world theme park. “Miss Fisher’s Mysteries” later on enhanced my fancy of Australia and especially Melbourne. 😅 Emma was always my favourite and next to her is Riki. Honestly, Ash is the hottest of them all and Lewis got a total makeover in season 2. I also thought and still think that Riki is a sexy and rebellious goddess. And I am happy that Riki made a cameo in the last season of “Mako Mermaids”, actually I loved the first season of the spin-off series. But then two of the main actresses were replaced, the blonde one, I forgot her name, went to play in “Vampire Academy” and I really hate getting attached to personages, which they later replace, recast it kill… I did like the idea of the dangerous but sexy mermen hunks. 😅😍 Thank you so very much for the lovely video!
This show 100% entered my life at the right time. I had seen Aquamarine and would constantly play mermaids
I don't hate season 3 that much but I think its an example of why fans begging for more isn't a good thing I like bella but I wonder if we needed her did we need anyone to replace emma at all
I've never clicked on anything so fast in my life. H2O was MY LIFE as a child.
i had SUCH a crush on ricki growing up negl
I had a crush on Cleo, Ricki, Bella, and Lewis 😭
Lol I remember going through a phase where I would tell any random kid I met when swimming at the lake that I was a mermaid, but only underwater - that's why my leg would be a leg again if I brought it up to show them, of course. I never saw this show, but little me still KNEW haha
I think its so funny how as a kid I watched both ocean girl and h2o (also an Australian show called elephant princess...maybe magical animal related shows is an Australian thing)
Oh, i forgot about elephant Princess until now! I think i missed the final two episodes of that show 😢
I loved those shows along with Lighting Point (Ailen Surf Girls)
I am mortally wounded by your disregard of the 90s and early 00s classic that is Ocean Girl. You have no idea how many hours me and every other young Aussie girl spent in the pool doing the iconic Ocean Girl swim. It was seriously a great show though, real weird ending tho
my brain must’ve BLOCKED out the mermaid teacher because i watched every episode of this show when it aired and i do NOT remember her help
To be fair, she never really helped them. Instead of speaking clearly, she left them confused and never told them they would only lose their powers for 12 hours. Makes for a fun story, but it was really irresponsible. What if the girls transformed in full sight?
im about to relive my childhood and binge the first season again, god i love this show
Oh, god. I've been on Effexor since I was maybe... 17? I'm 38 now. It's been a literal lifesaver, but the withdrawal symptoms are the worst. I feel for you.
Honestly this show caught my interest because of the mermaid plot so I’m glad that I have clarification that I should try it out
Effexor withdrawal is hell, I’m shocked duos were able to produce this video while going through it, you’re really strong
The last season kind of messed with that but I really liked the character of Bella (Emma was my least favourite, this is relevant) and she pretty much saved the season for me with the power of jello.
yes the water police is a real thing😭 also ocean girl omg I’ve been trying to find the name of that show for so long I thought I made it up honestly
its so wild to me as an australian that people outside of aus watched this strange show. also you should do an episode on the tv show round the twist, it traumatised entire generations here. i love your videos tho ty for making them, they've been great to binge and fall down all these rabbit holes
I'm excited to hear what you have to say about one of my favorite kids shows 💓
OH MY GOD I READ THAT BOOK!!!!!! THE WAY YOU UNLOCKED THAT IN MY BRAIN
Oh girl I feel for you 😭 I always have an extra stash in case shit like that happens, but sometimes I'll forget to take it for a day and man, those brain shakes are not for the weak! I'm hoping everything goes well for you as you continue -- you got this 💜💜
I remember that when the first season finale aired in Belgium (I was a kid, not on the internet at all, didn't know anything else about this show), I literally cried bc I was sad this show was over. 😅😂 Little did I know that there was a season 2 coming. 😂😂
I love this show even still as a full on adult 😅 they should make more of it with the girls being their beautiful adult selves. I miss them :(
I'd sell my soul for an adult H2O spin off. would their kids??? be born with the powers?? or make the same mistake at the island?? iconic. it's fake and in my head but its iconic
h2o and the emily windsnap books were EVERYTHING to 9 year old me, like i asked for a mermaid tail for my birthday and wore it whenever we went swimming (cringing thinking abt it now but it was actually super fun).
“Cleourgh” 😆
I can’t do it justice, but I certainly tried 😅
I would also like to add the book “Isabel of the Whales” to the collection of early 2000s mermaid media, which I found randomly in the library as a kid and which I think about constantly.
EDIT: omg also the tail of emily windsnap books! had a chokehold on me as a child
this was such!! a fun watch!!!!!! as an australian i had no idea h2o was so popular out of australia 😭this show single-handedly kickstarted my mermaid phase; i remember trying to google how to become a mermaid and there was this one website that i tried following hahah.. and did it work, u ask? u'll never know ; )
i forgot how unintentionally hilarious this show was.. that horrible close-up of zane's face is going to haunt me. tysm for sharing this i feel so seen,,, i loved hearing your commentary and i can't wait to watch the next one!
i used to think miss chatham was like 80 years old.
I miss H2O so much, it's always been my favourite show, I wish they'd make a season 4 ♥
the way that cleo screams at 6:42 absolutely kills me every time
WAIT i totally read that feral dolphin girl book too!! where she regresses back into a dolphin at the end (???) i thought that was a fever dream fr
My hand cramps from the days of trying to slowly yet aggressively make a fist to use my rikki powers will never be forgotten
I'm sorry you're dealing with medication issues. I'm going through withdrawals from my antidepressant (nightmares are a huge side effect) because of my pharmacy shutting down.

Mermaids are my number one obsession. This show came out when I was in high school and my two sisters and I love it! I plan on buying us replicas of the lockets from the show. My husband and I just started watching the show again this weekend because of your video. If you want to do other mermaid videos (Aquamarine!!) I would be incredibly happy!
You have found such a long-term subscriber in me!! I've been on a binge for these last couple of days and finding this series about one of my most favourite, never-missed-an-episode, magical teen drama has made me so happy 😆🥰
- ok first off you're very funny, love your vibe, will subscribe immediately
- second, this is incredibely timed because i just rewatched a bunch of h2o episodes, not all of it because it's still pretty fresh in my memory from my last full rewatch, just like the greatest hits or the stuff that's fuzzy for me, and also mainly, this watch i was focused on character dynamics, and one fo my favourite ones is rikki and lewis's friendship, like their relationship is such a background one, but like, they're essentially besties and i love that for them. it's so interesting to see dynamics, like how zane and emma interact, it's very "we're childhood friends that grew apart but our parents still hang so we have to be civilized in front of them" vibe, and you can really see it, like there are moments that zane has with everyone where you're like right, zane grew up with them, he might be a major dick, but you still have little moments of niceness that show thay have history
- also yes, rikki and jade from victorious give off he absolute same vibe of the angry bisexual friend lmao
- because i have seen the first episode so much, i was kinda looking at other things and i've never realized this until right now, but the first outfits zane and rikki are wearing basically mirror each other, nice foreshadowing and lewis's shirt is purple, which is cleo's main color that she's also wearing, wow, the costume department really went for it in that pilot, nice
- along with rewatching h2o, i also rewatched a bunch of mako mermaids, because i just really love the vibes, it's so interesting to see how the shows are similar and different, and i also love the concept of a merman. and i was watching other jonhathan m shciff shows like elephant princess, and im debating if i should rewatch alien surf girls because i like it but not that much lmao, i like the surfing part, don't really care about he alien parts
- ive been waiting for someone to do a longerh2o video, ive honestly been debating if i should do one lmao, im happy you did, great stuff!
As a kid I thought Miss Chatham was cool and mysterious but she makes me so uncomfortable as an adult.
I also read the feral dolphin girl book. I cried when I was like 8. It also started my fascination with language acquisition
Fellow Effexor user here, hope you feel better soon 🤞!!! Being without our meds SUCKS! Absolutely proud of you for putting together this video despite your struggles! I'm glad you had something to focus on during the hard time.
And your work did pay off! I loved this video! Your vid is the third video retrospective I've watched on H2O so far but I love every single one! I hope you do/have done s2! I love seeing everyone talking about this show.
I always have trouble remembering what shows I enjoyed as a child, and videos like yours remind me just how much I loved H2O :)
I feel like s3 was a fever dream tho lmao
I loved this and Mako Mermaids. Blue water high was another water related show which I loved when I was younger
saw this video a couple of days ago and it sent me on a spontaneous h2o binge… highlight of my week tbh
Watching this a year later but I feel for you. I was watching some of your videos while chilling at home waiting out sertraline withdrawal a few weeks ago. But I've come off Effexor before too (and missed a dose once or twice) and I can only imagine how you felt going off it for two days unexpectedly...oof. anyway thank you for educating me about a show I've never watched!
H2O is my childhood. I remember roleplaying with my friend as Emma and Cleo (I was Cleo) in the pool. It was a lot of fun!
I also REEEALLY wanted to believe I was a mermaid lol.
Also Nims island, I watched that movie soooo many times as a kid as well!
Omigosh yes!! Loved children being raised by animals for whatever reason
I've been loving your videos and H2O is one of my favorite shows and absorb as much content about it as I can, so the fact that this is your topic of choice is a perfect coincidence. Enjoyed this so much, can't wait for the next one!
This was my favorite show and Cleo was my favorite!
And the score is just so good
YES
I have never watched this show in English. But now that I'm hearing the English version of the clips, I really gotta say that specifically Cleo's German voice actress did a really good job conveying the way the original actress speaks.
I’ve watched this video three times now and never watched the show as a kid haha I just love hearing you talk about it! After you’re done your amazing recaps of the series I’m gonna watch it :D
i love the topics u cover and how u express your opinion! i will def be impatiently expecting the new videos u put out 🥺
I never leave comments but goddamn I have never clicked so fast and I adore all the content you’ve been putting out. Please keep it up, you’re wonderful!!!
cannot wait to hear ur take on season 2 omfg
I still want one of their lockets so bad 😫
Same! I have two sisters and I'm going to buy the set of lockets for us at some point.
The one thing that bothered me about "all water turns them into mermaids" was.. how did they wash their hands after going to the bathroom????
How did they even have their periods lmfao
@@danikadestinikey7477 how did they live their lives around rain. Besides that one episode in season 1
@@danikadestinikey7477That's not how periods work. Blood and Water are not the same substance, so their period won't have effect on them. But they definitely never wash their hands because they would turn into mermaids.
This is one of my fav shows fr I can recite every line and am not ashamed 😌
PS “H2O” was a huge hit in Bulgaria 🇧🇬.
UA-cam recommended me your channel and I've been making my way through all your videos this weekend and you're great at talking about the medias that have lived rent free in the back of my mind for 15+ years.
Also I was making macrame (macrame-ing?) while watching this one and had to look up when Zane told Lewis to do the same
I really love H2o! Please do a season 2 :)
i would absolutely love it, if you did Mako Mermaids, too!
0:47 oh my goodness I’ve been there accidentally too… many years ago and thankful I’m not on the meds anymore but WOW!
I’m on Effexor too and oh my god the withdrawals that come with going a while without taking it are AWFUL so I feel your struggle!😭❤️
Justice for the effexor babes
This is Ricky power slander! She had my favorite power, I always pretended to have hers. I always imagined other ways to use them. Don’t come for my hot (haha, get it?), bisexual, mermaid queen! (All love for the video though)
you’re the third person i’ve heard about that experienced issues with their pharmacy & effexor in the last few days 🥴 i just started again after years of not taking it and my pharmacy wouldn’t give me more than 30 capsules (75mg) even though my script was for 90
and i also was on a swim team as a child & was obsessed with mermaids. i was just never a lifeguard
I NEED PART 2 I loved this ❤
This is so weird that I find this video now I’ve been binge watching the show since yesterday lmao I loved it as a kid
“bite you bite you bits” will now forever live in my head rent free and I’m here for it
cucumbers have like 96% water so my canon is that cucumbers will also make them turn into mermaids if they eat them/touch them
This is so funny 😂
You know at the same time when H2O was out I was obsessed with House of Anubis lol
Literally same!! I loved Cleo & Lewis along with Nina & Fabian
I can’t believe I’m just now seeing this video after I’ve rewatched the Clique one countless times and I loved H2O when i was younger 😫
I was 18 when I watched this, so basically already a bit "too old", but I enjoyed the show nevertheless and still do!
