When I was 8 I had a children's book about a kid getting a pet cat that turned out to be a baby tiger and it had to be taken away from him. Pretty sure that story scared me away from cats for a little while.

Years ago I went hiking in the Salvadorean highlands near the Honduran border, yes there are still untamed jungles..... and we came upon a wild puma resting on the tree branches. I had never seen such a majestic sight, it's huge golden eyes just leering at us. He had been watching us the whole damn time too.

The cub had some issues with her mobility but she turned out fine in the end. In the last episode i think she was 8months old and living in her own enclosure.

All of big cats are potentially deadly, but jaguars, especially those raised properly with a close human contact, are one of the calmer and less likely to attack, than tiger or lion, even spotted leopard. In each case, they are extremely powerful and can cause harm even when playing or play attacking, what they often do also in adult age.
Why mention that though? That's like saying the same thing about a human, "beautiful but much deadly" like wtf lol humans are the most deadly of them all

Ricardo Siahaan Actually, a panther can be any large wild cat that has melanism (nearly or completely black pigmentation of the fur). So black jaguars, leopards, cougars, etc. can be considered panthers. :-)
vladijack22. Actually ‘panthera’ is the genus in the felidae family, e.g. panthera leo is a lion, or panthera pardus is a leopard. Therefore a black panther is not one specific animal. It is the layman’s term for big cats that are usually black leopards or black jaguars. 🐾🦁🐆
