      @@edogthebigdogHe lead the league in scoring that year by 1 ppg over Luka while averaging like 6 free throws more per game than the entire league and also lead the league in usage rate by a large margin that year. Also why you not mentioning assists ? Jokic averages double Joel assists every year. Jokic has been 100% robbed that year and just proves how mvp titles are irrelevant

    Somehow, for me, the bigger story is the rotten concept of 'The Process.' Losing in order to win. Despicable. Wait...I have an idea: How about the front office actually does its job and builds a team through drafting and trades. You know, the way championship organizations do. Embiid is what Philly deserves.

  • @georgethompson8196
    @georgethompson8196 12 днів тому +1

    Indeed, The SIXERS Organization caused this garbage. Allowing Embiid & Simmons to not care about WINNING!!! That was Absolutely Disgraceful and this now are the results!!! Philly has to totally eradicate the mess they created by getting rid of Embiid. He's the last remnants of that whole era.

    can we not pretend like he wasn't actually great in his prime? he never made it to the postseason without an injury. would have won a chip without having these injuries? probably not. he is not like an all around all time great player. but in his prime when healthy he was a dominant force.
    he is also on a 5 year contract now and there is no team that will trade for that. he will have to retire early and cancel the contract for the sixers to be spared of five more years.

    • @trashtalknba
      @trashtalknba  13 днів тому

      From a pure skills perspective for 1 on 1 basketball he might have the highest offensive efficiency.
      Shaqs FTs and lack of 3 ball hurt him. Hakeem is up there, very close, Embiid offensive peak clears Kareem IMO, wilt wasn’t skill as much as offensive talent, Jokic is a better player, mostly from a IQ/ passing perspective, in terms of offensive skill it’s very close

    • @degande-d1w
      @degande-d1w 13 днів тому

      @@trashtalknba Embiid isn't even in the same stratosphere as Wilt. Wilt had seasons where he played every almost every minute of every game, set scoring records that will never be broken, he has the longest streak of made shots in a row which spanned across 3 games. He was faster, bigger, stronger, smarter, and didn't need to resort to flopping or playing dirty to dominate at levels Joel can never reached.
      Saying Wilt wasn't "skill as much as offensive talent" really tells me you never actually bothered to do your research on him. There are tons of archive footage showing Wilt being an incredibly agile player full of finesse while also being an absolute monster on defense.

      Russ made it to a finals & a WCFs...smfh

    • @volumelow
      @volumelow 13 днів тому

      Russ benefited immensely from playing alongside arguably one of the top 15 players of all time. The team records speak for themselves when comparing seasons where Russ was injured versus KD being sidelined-it’s clear OKC was much stronger with KD leading the charge. Russ’s contributions often felt more like high-energy moments rather than true value, and replacing him with any average point guard might have led OKC to multiple championships. KD was double teamed OVER AND OVER again every postseason and teams expected Brick to....Brick away (and this tactic worked)
      Taking it further, Russ has been riding the coattails of virtually every superstar he’s played with since KD’s departure: PG, Melo, Harden, Beal, LeBron, AD, Kawhi, Jokic-the list goes on. How much star power does one player need to succeed?
      and guess what, despite D riding half the league's superstars, Brick has yet to make it out of the first round a single time when HEALTHY.
      Comparing Russ to Embiid doesn’t even feel fair. While both have their flaws, Embiid’s potential as a second or third option on a team is at least plausible. Russ’s inefficiency and self-centered playing style, even in his prime, arguably made him more of a liability than an asset, to the point where his role might not even justify a starting spot.
      Just remember that players like Ja, Trae, Jalen, Lowry, Conely, etc have been primary options on teams that made it past the first round.

    For some context, people felt the same way about Hakeem Olajuwon before his first ring in 94. He was never happy with his team, the coach, his teammates, the city of Houston. He also felt he was being unreasonably targetted by NBA refs who were handing him tech fouls for the slightest of infractions.
    There was a point around 91 where Houston was ready to get rid of him and start over again.
