I was born and raised in Oahu and now have my firstborn graduating and realized I hadn't made a candy lei, well one that was pretty, in YEARS. So I truly appreciate this, thank you!
sorry about that, UA-cam provided music sure doesn't have much options for editing. yeah, i've been debating whether to change the music or just take it off all together LOL
one thing i learned from being in art school is being weird is a good thing. so be as much of a weirdo as you want :) lol thanks for watching. good luck
Super love your tutorials! I made a money lei for my brother-in-laws graduation last weekend but actually crafted the bills into flowers...wayyyyy to much work! I like yours so much better! I'm thinking I will make my husbands baby sister your version of the money lei and one of these kisses ones! Perfect since its her favorite candy! You are too adorable and creative!
Great job!! Thank you sooo much for sharing. I moved to Louisiana from Hawaii 19 years ago and wanted to make a lei for my son's best friend for his senior day for soccer but could not remember how to start the process lol. It was a huge hit with everyone and especially the senior. Thanks again for spreading the aloha! Mahalo brada!!
basically i just the end with the 2ends into the loop and double or triple knot. You can also just tie both ends into each other if the loop end is long enough. doesn't really matter how you do it just as long as it holds really. but i'll be making more videos once grad season gets closer and when i have time. I'll make sure to put a "tie video" on the list to do also :) Thank you for watching.
Awesome work!!! I'm also an artist/ islander living in the states and you've definitely inspired me. My son just graduated HS and now my niece is next. I'll post pics when done :) LOL I'm logged under my son's accnt (MrSizzle).
@mlene08 yes, you can do it with almost any candy thats all the same size. just make sure the gum balls are not to large, it may he a bit hard to arrange them
Wow wow wow wow I love love love love it hi my friend my father is from Hawaii and I am really enjoyed watching this video on UA-cam channel and I really want to learn how to make a flower Lie and thank you so much for sharing your experience and great job and gorgeous colors and styles and God bless you and your family my friend
i guess it depends on your local climate. but i never really had a melted mess. They can get soft under direct sunlight, but I never got to the point where they puddle and drip everywhere. If you are worried about the sun before handing it to someone, you can place them in a handheld cooler. i do that sometimes for my flower leis so they dont welt before handing it.
@ahliewser08 but from the looks of it. it looks like simple cuts of mylar sheets which are strung by a needle. you can experiment by crumpling and folding when stringing to get that ruffle look
I so love your channel. I have been following your tutorials on making different type of leis. I am going to make this 3D one for my preschooler who is graduating tomorrow. Thank you for sharing. I have been wanting to know how to make this kind. From one Poly to another. Mahalo.
i love your leis. this candy one is so much nicer than the more common ones i've seen. i am, however, a little worried that it might melt. has that happened?
Loving everything I don't have much money and I wanted to do something really nice for my brother :-) thank you he is the first out of 6 kids to graduated with cap and gown :-)
way too cool. I made a $100 lei for the School Scholorship program and it wouldve been nicer had i seen this one first because i could have staggered the csh.on to another grad this friday and i will perfect my project!!!!
Thats so beautiful i love it!! I love the simple traditional candy lei makings, but after awhile it just starting to get boring, so i ended up on here, watched it till the end, was very impressed on how it came out to be, 👍 the video & SUBSCRIBED!!! Thank you so much, gonna be doing this for my daughters 6th grade grad & for my other 3 nieces who is ALL graduating out of the 6th grade so theres 4 of them!! But this looks very fun to do & something i find myself doing on the days where i have nothing to do!! Mahalo
Thanks so much for sharing your ideas! I was having a hard time finding the cellophane in my daughter's school colors so I am going to try using the spools of sparkly tulle.... have you tried that? Anyways... crossing my fingers! Thanks again!
@@JackTopusArt Actually, I was thinking if I made this, I would leave a gap in the back of the neck. I live in San Jose, CA and it can and does get really hot here. Thank you again.

I love this idea. It's a unique way to make a candy necklace rather than the traditional candy necklaces we're used to seeing.
"150-160 kisses for one good lei". LOVE IT 😂. Great video! Detailed and straight to the point. Thank you!
sorry about that, UA-cam provided music sure doesn't have much options for editing. yeah, i've been debating whether to change the music or just take it off all together LOL

Ive been asking around if anyone knew how to make the Hershey kiss lei, and no one seemed to know. Thanks for sharing!!
Island way, you don't need to measure anything.
