Taps fan - I’ve ben a for for pansies since I first saw them when I was about two years old. (I’m an old gal now & I’ll be 71 in May.) I have two pansy enameled brooches by some well known designer (name escapes me), definitely not gold & gemstones, but I love them. One is in shades of lavender/purple, and the other is in shades of yellow/white/orange.
I loved the comment wearing a Tiara to vacuum and make banana bread! That’s so me! I wear my fine jewelry at all times even at home it makes me feel better Btw people don’t wear expensive earrings while wearing a mask! I have to tell you on Wednesday I worn my beautiful emerald studs to go to the bank with a mask on when I came home, one earring was missing ! I was devastated as these are fine Colombian emeralds, so I went back to the bank and searched for it, nothing! Later in the evening my sister cleaned the kitchen and while moping the floor with Clorox ! she found the earring, not the back but the stud is intact So I think the earring came off when I pulled the mask out! Thank God and bless my dear sister !
Another great WFH episode of Frank’s Files! Thank you for doing these more often, Frank. Today’s pieces were so lighthearted and lovely. Particularly that gold and diamond bracelet. Oh, and the pansy brooches.
In my small way, l am really trying to get women to think about the best finishing touch to anything they chose to wear when going out, Brooches. They are so beautiful, there is such a great variety, and they set each lady apart. Found out that they were popular during WWII. There was a shortage of fabric during the war, and they made use of brooches to "dress up" their War-time frocks. They are great on a Blazer, the clip style brooches can add so much to a simple cardigan, and for every Season there are brooches to say that you're, In Season. They take just a moment to put on, but wearing them is evidence of your personal style, and show that you care to always finish an outfit with an appropriate piece of Jewelry, a brooch!
Frank I have to ask your expert opinion. Here in the South most ladies begin their fine jewelry collection with a lovely single strand of pearls. These are usually a gift from their father when they are sixteen. It’s followed by a double strand from their husband for their wedding. A few years ago my darling husband had my first pearls redesigned with a lovely floral diamond brooch in the middle. Now that’s a statement necklace in my book. But not your usual extraordinary collar. What do you think? Do they qualify for my five.
My thanks to you for your fabulous videos regarding my favorite topic. If I had to select one item that I could wear most frequently it would have to be the bracelet. My next selection would be to have the brooches. I wish you had shown us the profile of the ring as it intrigued me but I felt like I saw only half of the design.
