Hey Claire. It’s Chris from Bike party (ride lead) I didn’t know you had a UA-cam channel. I found this video while searching for C&O videos. My group southeast group rides is doing a 3 day 2 night c&o towpath trip may 31- June 2 if you want to join us. Some of us are camping, some are BnB’ing it.

My dad kinda sorta started planning a trip to do with me and my brothers on the C and O when we were younger....it never happened...almost 30 years later, we are starting to plan it again.
i'm planning to try bike-packing for the first time in the next few months (in prep for a fully supported bike tour of the entire C&O tow-path this July)
For breakfast and awaing a long bike ride, you eat as much carbs as possible, I'd say peanut butter and jelly sandwich or pre-home made rice cakes. Protein bars, so you won't be sore and plenty of energy gell and one bottle 2oz of pickle juice.
The C&O is one of my favorite rides. Done it dozens of times since finding it myself in 1994. Done parts of the GAP too but before it joined the C&O. Want to do them end to end this year from Great Falls to Pitts. I use a B.O.B. Trailer so I can carry lots of camping junk with me on the trail. You may want to head west next to the Paw Paw tunnel. It’s another unique feature I always look forward to. The East approach to Paw Paw always reminded me of somewhere out west such as Wyoming around Yellowstone and not Maryland. Anyway, that part of the trail was always a highlight for me.
Came across this video just looking for last minute info. Packing some hand sanitizer right now! hahaha. Getting on a train tomorrow so I can ride the whole thing. Kinda nervous, I have never done a bikepacking trip before and kicking it off with a big one! Glad the overnighter was a success for you, even if you were missing an item or two.

Oh man that sucks not packing a sleeping bag, you’re a trooper haha. I’m miffed I didn’t get to go again this year, I wanted to do the whole run from Pittsburgh on to DC again. I def want to rent one of those little lock houses for a night.

thank you so much! I go back and forth with the hammock, just depends on what i'm feeling that day.
