As a DH rider, I'm not sure if I should be motivated by seeing the POV of what's possible on bike or sell all my bikes right now. Anway, Amaury's the fastest man alive. That's for sure.
Momo he is fast AF, i was not able to keep up with him. Myriam Nicole is super fast too and she can send big stuff. Glad both of them won, they are so nice and humble.
I love how he takes deep breathes right from the start pumping all that oxygen to his lungs and avoiding arm pump and other stamina issues. 🏁👍Top rider
When I watch an incredible downhill run like this one, it makes me wonder why the Olympic committee will not allow mountain bike downhill racing in the summer Olympics, yet a sport like “curling” is allowed in the Olympics, sure it’s a Winter Olympics sport, but doesn’t it just make you a little bit upset that curling was accepted as an Olympic sport but downhill mountain bike racing is not? What an the incredible run. It’s a shame there are people in this world that don’t appreciate the amazing talent these riders possess.
why judge other sports like they're enemies of yours? curling isn't why DH isn't in the olympics. DH is a much newer sport and, just like skateboarding, snowboarding, climbing etc, takes politics to enter into the olympics.
@@Synthysizer I don't think that's the point that OP was making at all. I believe OP wanted to say that such a niche sport that not many people play such as curling is accepted into the Olympics, but a sport with similar circumstances such as DH was not accepted. I suppose politics is a major part in it as you say.
I'm sure it will happen eventually. The issue would be with host venues. It requires a mountain in nearish proximity, where no other summer Olympic sport does. Winter Olympics adding snowboard & ski half pipe & slopestyle just took up more of the mountain they were already using for the slalom events, logistically it's just easier.
@@KS-nm6rt Good point, that is a drawback 🤷🏻♂️, but the question is, should amazing riders that deserve a chance at ever winning an Olympic gold medal for the sport they love and excel have an outright denial 🤔
holy *, that was FAST! Can't remember seeing a pov that was this quick. A quote from Terminator 2 popped into my mind where John says "Can you even see anything?". Schwarzenegger goes: "I see everything". How true. Had to agree with myself
This guy's an animal. Been watching his Instagram before the season started and would knew he'd win the whole thing just by how he's acting and the shape he's in.
yep, and in the event there's an issue with the start wand timing, they subtract the official start time (the end of the five second window) from the time at the finish line, so it's an advantage/insurance policy to go at the beginning of the window
@@maxlachance5662 Did a quick google and found that the timer starts when the front wheel crosses the lazer line which is normally near the clock counting down. The rider must pass this lazer before it counts down to 0. So leaving at 5 gives them enough time to cross this line. Clock doesn't start when they leave the gate. But if they leave early before the 5 second window they get DQ'd. My research could be wrong though.
Could someone explain to me the reasoning behind being able to leave the start line before the countdown finishes? I noticed this when I entered a race before and don't quite understand why you can begin racing before the countdown finishes? I know that the little arm that you have to push out the way starts the timer but then why have a countdown? Is it just so there's enough time between riders?
The count is a specific time frame in which the rider can go. It is not that they have to go at the end of the countdown. When they cross the black bar the time starts.
You know if it looks this wild on a gopro that it's absolutely insane in person. What a run! Huge congrats to Amaury!
You got it backwards, the go pro will make things look more insane than real life slightly. Not the other way around.
Nah man, looks easy. He just rolled down and aimed the wheel right.
@@TerkanTyr fr. gravity doing all the work here.
@@JustSnowglow yeah no cap I could do it easily it's just that i have bone spurs
Actually, the GoPro makes things look wilder and more intense than they really are.

Agree on both points mate 🤔
hey man, got my bike stolen last summer, so would love to help you with that doubt.... ship it to Portugal, I'll put it to good use lol

pretty easy to win when you cheat by 5 seconds at the start ye

He’s well on his way to becoming a legend of the downhill, he must have other racers crying into their breakfast bowl on a monday morning 😀
Man he has Finn crying! These Frenchman won't ever give him a break 😂
there isn't enough mula in this sport (yet) to make anyone cry over that mate, this ain't football/soccer ;)
@@duroxkilo Muller a german legend, probably had a few keepers in tears.
There is no one more exciting to admire, Loic is an absolute legend, but Amaury is something else
my cousin can go faster than this like come on dawg....what is this juniors competition or something?
It’s crazy how immersive this is! It almost feels like I’m the one riding
Yea same
Yeah, despite the fact i am imaginary trying to pull the brakes as hard as i can.
Having 180 bpm just from watching
You’d know about it if you were riding it.
Up until I have to rewind four times just to see where I even went in a rock garden. Then it doesn't feel like me. It feels like I'd be dead.
A lot of talent, of commitment & no mistake. What a run !
AWESOME!!! That bunny hop over the pole at 2:49 ist just one little detail of being that fast. Incredible....
That was epic
I was there. Absolute epic, but nearly everyone did this.
Agree, I can't even imagine bunny hopping the pole at that speed
Love these winning run POVs. Incredible footage
Best thing on to watch on UA-cam in my opinion! thank you for the entertainment. Cheers from Australia
The "sorry bro" to Finn Iles (2nd place) @3:15 was f!cking amazing hha.
Amazing, you know what i miss in these runs? A speedometer and visual wheb the brake is being used....
Haven't even seen Top Gun 2 yet been too busy watching Amaury's footage.
Amaury is faster anyway

Looks completely unbeatable
Merci Amaury, quel plaisir de pouvoir imaginer ce que cela fait d envoyer comme un sale !!! Bravo pour cette descente d anthologie !
What a feeling that must be, last man down and fastest man down. Incredible run! 😁
Knowing nobody can do anything about it I agree would be a great feeling
Just perfect run! Well done 🤙🏼🤙🏼
I truly can’t imagine riding downhill this fast. Hard to comprehend.
Love these POV shots, it’s like you’re riding on their shoulder
I feel like I've accomplished something just to have watched this on my laptop lying in bed.
So fast. Bonkers commitment. What a legend!
Looked like another perfect run for Amaury. Around 2 seconds between 2nd and 20th, then Amaury goes 1.5s faster
holy *, that was FAST! Can't remember seeing a pov that was this quick. A quote from Terminator 2 popped into my mind where John says "Can you even see anything?". Schwarzenegger goes: "I see everything". How true. Had to agree with myself
Amazing! Glad I went to Lenzerheide to watch it. Also lucky to bump into him on the ski lift on Sunday 🤘
I really hope that add a speed display so we can see how fast they are actually going.
about 50kph average, maximum around 80
fast enough to die if they hit a tree- These folks are amazing, and confident
"Sorry bro" ahah! Point faible : trop fort !! 💪🤘🔥
What a run :o He´s from another planet
amazing - he uses ALL THE TRACK, and he's strong enough to use that super stiff suspension to go fast....an unbeatable combination! spectacular
Hat‘s off! So insane!
Such a strong rider

💯 He’s been training hard in the gym
He is a machine on that bike well done no fear at all.
incredible riding
when he rides on the edge he usually wins - so much fun to watch. And the big GM with another podium...
Unbelievable speed. Gotta be so strong physically and mentally.
That was sick bro!!! 🔥🔥
This is insane! So fast!!!🔥🔥🔥
A good dude and wicked fast. Congrats man!
he is on fire!
that was absolutly strong. Incredible how he drove down right there
Finn's expression at 3:02 says it all. What a race.
I'm in awe. Just pure awesome
Fantastico... nn è lui che curva sono le piante che si spostano 🔝🔝🔝

Damn that run was stylish!
Respect
Gotta be hard with all the shadows too
Does anyone know what kind of bike they ride? Manufacturer?
I believe he rides a Commencal. Not sure which model tho.
Commencal supreme v5
I never understood why DH racers start when the countdown starts instead of when it ends, do they have a 5sec window to start? Or how does that work?
yes, there is 5 seconds window
Can leave the gate anytime in the last 5 seconds. But Majority go when the clock turns 5.

You can tell that Amaury is a guy guy he even apologized to Finn at the end. So amazing to see such pace on a bike.
It should not be possible to ride a bike this fast. I think we might be witnessing the greatest downhill rider of all time

Finn, so bummed for Finn but, Amaury is sooooo fast.

Watching this makes me realize my bike is faulty. Unlike his mine rarely goes where I point it.
I'm totally new to this... what is the life expectancy of a rider like this? ^^
Insane and fascinating.
speed king
why did he started 5 sec earlier?
The legend says that sometimes his wheels touch the ground
SO SICK!!!!
I wanted to count how many times I would’ve died. I lost count about midway
Why did he started before the end of the count ? please
The count is a specific time frame in which the rider can go. It is not that they have to go at the end of the countdown. When they cross the black bar the time starts.
There's a sound like a motorbike engine or chainsaw at various points? What's that about? (He's obviously not on a motorbike -- or chainsaw!)

Sick!!

Incrível... Sensacional!
Why did he start before countdown?
It’s not a countdown. It’s a time marker to make the runs more accurate…. I wish people knew more about dh 🙄
Super !!!💪
Ii this fllm speed 1:1 ? I tried to look on peoples moves but its too fast
