- i may have overdone myself lol. Happy Halloween everyone! as my treat for the month, I'm gonna take a look at Netflix's very own Dead End Paranormal Park to see whether it's a must watch for the halloween season. which is honestly less of a halloween review and more of a generic cartoon review lol.

Update: this show was canceled after 2 seasons, which I see as an absolute win.
Some quick notes:
1. 39:08 i could actually see this working like a video game.
2. I looked up Zach Barack (voice of Barney) and he appears in spider-man far from Home as the character Zach. who i honestly dont even remember in that movie.

2. i just saw season 2 and here are some of the highlights i can remember. (spoilers if you even care)
.The first episode of season 2 opens up with Pauline's funeral. Barborah the most based character in the show besides courtney gets promoted to CEO after Pauline's death. inheriting her wealth and the park, and also her albino Tiger.
and also introducing bowling wednesdays.
.There's a sorta plotline going on about Courtney wanting to learn more about herself.
.Logs and Barney's relationship gets a little more attention this time around.
.Courtney has like a storyline about her discovering herself since she doesnt remember her past.
.Theres no Musical episode. Good.
.There is not a single reference of Child Abuse in this season.
.Theres a guy in a bowling alley named Hercules who has 1 arm and is Logs' friend.
.They introduce a Giant Master Hand arm guy named Fingers who is apparently an Angel, and is seen through his eyes by the higher up at what i assume to be Heaven. He also speaks in a british accent and becomes a main character as he decides to teach Puglsey to do magic.
.The second episode reminds me alot of that Rude Removal Episode of Dexter's Lab. in that while trying to do angel magic, Pugsley accidentally makes evil clones of the main characters.
Evil Barney looks better than normal Barney because he looks like a rockstar. so is Evil Norma.
Evil Courtney is actually just nice Courtney and looks like Mclovin from Superbad. Complete with Nerdy Glasses.
For some reason there's no Evil Pugsley, instead there is a stampede of Pugsleys that act the exact same.
.Its also Confirmed in the second episode that Norma has a crush on the Iranian Girl (apparently her name is Badyah Hassan), she's Bi apparenttly.
.Also after this episode, even though he only learned to duplicate a spoon, Pugsley can still do magic. because why not?
.It also seems that Fingers is expecting the arrival of God or something as he acts suspicious throughout the season.
.the 3rd episode has Barney going to a hell gym to become the greatest wrestler in the demon realm and train with Asmodeus, the other based character in the show who just so happens to be his first Demon Wrestling opponent at the
end. he is also a Demon king AND temalucas' cousin. WOW! THAT IS JUST SO LUCKY.
.Barney also likes going to the hell gym because none of the demons question that he's trans. apparently. even though he wears a disguise.
.This episode also has a decent fight scene between Barney and Asmodeus. its not epic but its better than that shit fight from the finale.
.Its also confirmed in a flashback that Barney is Ginger, so apparently he has a soul.
.Episode 4 has Barney's parents come over to the Dead End House for dinner.
.Harmmany, that emperor belos knock-off guy from the Episode "trust me" comes back in this episode as a soup that causes the heroes to argue with eachother. even though he fucking exploded into chunks in his previous outing and he
dies the same death, but no one is ever really gone am i right?
.The 5th episode of the season has Pugley witnessing a dream or "premonition" about the end of the world and the coming of god. so he uses a time travel spell to make a perfect scenario. he can just do anything now.
.The Conehead angel says he's been watching Pugley.
.Bad news shippers, Badyah is straight as she confirms in this episode. i guess thats one shipping war prevented.
.Episode 6 has Barney and friends go to a spooky realm and apparently there's 13 zones in the multiverse.
.Succubus (who's name is Zaegan) returns because she's throwing a 16th birthday party. and she's totally fine with our heroes attending eve nthough she tried to fucking destroy earth.
.Badyah tries to save her friendship with Norma by putting her in a Interspecies relationship with Zaegan. she gets her phone number by the end.
.Temalucas makes his grand return in this episode, in the body of a fat Jewish Man, complete with a Yamaka. I told you he would be fat!
.While in the Party Courtney sees a blue imp that resembles her with a longer horn. im calling this blue imp "Dogma" till further notice.
.Conehead angel (known as The Watcher) crashes the party because i think he watches over multidimensional activity per the word of the ones upstairs, and he poofs everyone, including Dogma and Temalucas.
.After the party, Norma Quits.
.Episode 7 has Norma out of a job.
.Logs comes over and he and Norma have a chat about coming out and gaysplosions. why? because modern cartoon thats why.i mean i dont watch these shows for representation you know.
.Pauline is BACK! in doll form, still seeking a body. because no one is ever really gone am i right you freaky fucks!?
.Norma comes out to her mom who is happy about it.
.Pauline is initially convinced to stop thanks to a miniature version of her park, but she sneaks into Norma's bag anyway.
.When Norma comes back to the park, things arent going so well..
.in episode 8 (which is a flashback), Barney puts himself in charge in place of Norma. and then he FUCKING DIES.
.just kidding, he becomes a ghost, much like Pauline. while his corpse becomes a zombie thanks to some spell.
.Barney also meets the ghost of Jules who apparently uses they/them pronouns (Owl House was more subtle with it's Non-Binary rep lol), the ghost of one of Pauline's exes (voiced by Hop Pop), and some magic orb. though i think it's
weird trhat they made Jules non-binary instead of the orb character which would've made more sense IMO since the orb looks like it HAS no gender.
.Barney goes through the ghost stages of grief.
.Pugsley strikes a deal with Fingers.
.Barney summons a vortex and is about to Ascend to heaven, but thankfully logs comes back with a seance kit.
.Norma comes back and finishes the ritual and Barney is brought back to life.
.Pauline's ex goes to heaven.
.Fingers was the one who killed barney and per his deal with the dog, Pugsley and Fingers go upstairs to heaven to "Graduate".
.Episode 9 opens with the Origin of Pugsley. He was a birthday present for Barney.
.they go to the land of the Angels which is Alien in appearance and has like a giant prison of souls or some shit like that.
.Courtney gets to meet Dogma and its here we get to see the big reveal of a lifetime. turns out that courtney is a fallen angel! who coulda guessed it? and she sees more Fallen Angels that work for this program where they keep
destinies in line or something by cutting root stems? i dunno but what i can tell you is it might be the dumbest shit they could possibly introduce in this show. The idea of stem cutting destinies brings up plenty of horrible
implications that are too deep for me to talk about, but taker my word for it that this is just silly.
.Norma and Barney reunite with Evil Courtney and Asmodeus.
.Barney uses Pugsleys magic hat to see through the dog's eyes, who is being tortured in the name of God or some shit. Which i think by extensions also makes Fingers the right hand of God. at least i think its God, it doesnt even
look like him lol.
.Courtney starts a revolution with the Fallen Angels, and frees all the prisoners.
.also Barney can do magic with Pugsleys hat.
.Pugsley is destined to be the most powerful sorverer in the multiverse, which is the coneheaded WATCHER. to put this into perspective, the Watcher IS Pugsley. i mean they have a similar voice who could've guessed it?
.the final episode of the season sees Barney and the Watcher teleported to the place in Pugsley's dream. revealing that a great war happened in the future that ravaged earth. only by doing some ritual did the watcher save the
multiverse. so the watcher's goal this whole time i think was to prevent the war from happening?
.Logs and Badyah help the demons escape. along with Pauline's help.
.Meanwhile, Barney does time travel across the previous episodes to save Pugsley from his destiny while fighting the watcher/future Pugsly.
.this whole time travel palooza brings up a few implications which could require a video talking about it.
.Barney show the Watcher baby pugsley and the Watcher glitches out.
.Pugsley gets the helmet put on him but is rescued by Future Pugsley.
.The Pugsleys team up to fight Fingers and both of them FUCKING DIE. for real, im not kidding. so does Fingers but who gives a shit.
.The season ends with the park reopening and Barney coping with his best friend's sacrifice, and Norma teaming up with Zaegan and Temalucas to wage war on heaven.
.Oh yeah and also Pugsley arrives in a spooky place. (probably super hell or some shit)
and Thats season 2. am i going to video on it? probably not so thats all your getting. it was honestly not as awful as i think it was gonna be but its still not that great. at least they improved it a little bit. i think i kinda
enjoyed that finale but i cant really say whether i liked it or not. so 4/10.

I was OK when Pugsley died because
1. I already predicted he was gonna die before the season even came out
2. Wasn’t that attached to him
3. The creator hinted they were going to bring back the killed off character in an interview
4. They’re obviously gonna bring him back like what Family Guy did with Brian Griffin or disenchantment with elfo luci and Jerry

They aren’t really behind it. They were most likely contracted to animate the show and were probably going to make a close to source adaptation, but the corpos at Netflix decided to stick their nose and ass in. There is no way such a talented group of people would happily turn out this pile of horse shit.
Also I heard about this show on twitter/X and how good it was, but every post was singing praises because it had representation. That’s it. It had good gay and trans representation. Nothing really about the show. This was around the era where everyone was kissing the ass of every woke thing that existed which is probably why corpos decide to do cater to the lgbt+ community, but whatever

Truth in the matter is that it’s a cookie cutter show that had random things replaced and added in for “diversity” and was contracted out to be animated with half the animation budget cut every season
Calling it garnet syndrome is a bit harsh since ruby and sapphire actually make a couple that is good and the show used the two as a twist that was built up a little. It would be better to call it, modern Disney movie syndrome

Eeeeehhhh, I'd say it's more a 7/10 show. I mean, there's quite a bit of clunkiness to the writing in places and similar shows like Amphibia, The Owl House, Hilda, Infinity Train and even lighter stuff like Craig of the Creek or The Ghost & Molly McGee are fundamentally stronger shows, but for what it's worth, I think it's quite an overhated show with a good handful of interesting moments and character arcs. Norma, in particular, being one of the most interesting and enjoyable characters who, being canonically autistic, based on Hamish Steele's own autistic experiences, has an extremely relatable scenario with her fear of socializing with people (Ep 3 being a particular highlight because of it).
Another fave character is Courtney (voiced by Hannah Montana's Emily Osment) for being an adorable scrunkly and also having an interesting arc about trying to get back to the Underworld. I also really like Badyah, a quirky Iranian-American nerd who didn't have much to chew on in S1 to be fair, but she does play more of a role in Season 2 with Norma plucking up the courage to confess her feeling to her, but she says she's straight (or so she thinks) but tries to make it up to her in the episode that follows. (The shipping gag of her pairing Norma and Zagan may be cringe, but that's kinda the point, amusingly satirizing the shippers online.) I also think Badyah's design is quite adorable (the round glasses reminding me of Lotte from LWA and Ridley from Glitch Techs and scarf-styled hijab are cute touches), speaking of which, I don't think the character designs are THAT bad. Sure, they're not the most sophisticated or most smoothly animated like say, Rise of the TMNT, but they're harmless enough on the eyes. Also have to give credit on the voice acting, which is mostly done by lesser known VAs of the same diverse ethnicities as many of the characters, plus more musical talents like Alex Brightman (of Beetlejuice the Musical fame) and Patrick Stump of Fallout Boy (who also did the songs for S1 E9, a good handful of which are bangers imo).
Anywho, that's my take on this series and I really quite like it. The writing is FAR from perfect and takes a few shortcuts here and there and the production values aren't the highest for a Netflix series, but some of the characters are endearing and have some pretty substantial, even relatable arcs and standout moments, the animation is decent, the designs are alright and there's still a good amount of intrigue to the story. It may fumble in a few places, but goddamnit, at least it actually TRIED, unlike certain other Netflix schlock like Big Mouth or Paradise P.D. Credit where credit's due and all that.
So yeah, 7/10 show, not a masterpiece by any means, but when I reactivated my Netflix account after getting curious about the talk, themes and even backlash it was getting online, I surprisingly enjoyed my time with it. Also, stan Norma because she's queen of Autism. Byyyyyye!
...and another thing. I don't really categorize Norma as the " Hyperactive Girl Character". She isn't as energetic or eccentric as say, Mable Pines or Star Butterfly. If anything, she's more of a curious person who's infatuated with paranormal happenings and the works of Pauline Phoenix (until finding out she was a horrible person). Having autism, she finds it hard to socialize in larger crowds (Mabel Pines is more of a social butterfly). In S1 E3, we delve into her psyche and as someone who also has trouble with eye contact, that moment was really something.

14:37 I don’t know if you know, but this episode was about Autism. The creator Hamish Steele didn’t know he had it until being praised for accurate autism representation, when he was just confused and basing it around his experiences. This scene is specifically about Overstimulation, or when to much is going on and boom, in tears and blaming yourself. I’m actually autistic too and it is actually realistic for the emotions, like, if harmmany just go (insert Monkey noises here) and you where socially awkward, let alone triggered by certain sounds, you might be a little confused and freaked out too. Also, I don’t understand how the art is not expressive?? Like some of them are almost hilariously expressive, like the face Courtney makes just before eating something, and yeah, art style might not be the most unique but if I based all the shows I watched around that? Well, I have a hard time paying attention to Live Action but DHMIS? Would’ve been nothing more than a puppet show, but first impressions aren’t always true, I mean you sit here complaining about the first few episodes, but practically every show is like that, how impatient would you be to not even get to know “ah, Norma is Intelligent but Awkward, really interested in everything Pauline Phoenix” and “Ah, pugsly.. is a dog.” Or hell even “Courtney is a Red Croissant looking thing that likes to eat literal junk food and wants to go ‘back’ in hell” That patience will pay off, and yea a kid can and will love that show, my 4 Year old Niece could be more patient than you seem to be.

if you hate the first season this much you’re going to hate the second season even more if you ever watch it😂. I really like the first season but I have very mixed feelings on the second season. I don’t think it’s bad but there are just some really baffling writing choices in the first eight episodes. The first episodes of the season aren’t bad but are nothing more than good but the last two episodes of the season are fucking amazing. The problem is the second season does a lot of cool stuff that I absolutely love but the main story doesn’t kick in until the second to last episode of the season and it’s so annoying. Also there’s know musical episode in the second season which I was really disappointed about because I really like musicals😅

Unfortunate you're not into one of the best animated shows in recent years. No joke, I've probably watched this show through and through over 10 times, and every time I notice small things that I didn't notice the first time.
Like how in Wait Time 22 minutes, the "Wait time signs" in the background actually change as the episode progresses, telling you how much time is left in the episode.
How in Night of the Living Kids they're able to go from the heart warming sibling bonding story of Barney and Patrick, to full out horror with the night hag, then the dark yet comedic plotline of Courtney trying to gouge Pugsley's eye out, seamlessly transitioning throughout the episode, until they all culminate in the final act.
Norma also talks about how the film "The Night Hag" was ahead of its time, that the hero dies in the second act, and in that same episode, the heroes are attacked by the night hag at the end of the second act.
The irony in The Pauline Phoenix Experience that Pauline dies while filming a life insurance ad. The fact that they had a musical episode that both; had amazing songs and moved the plot along, and much more.
I just love how unique it is, how they rarely rely on stereotypes to build characters, or episodes, and this is one of the few shows where I like the protagonists more than the villain. Usually the villains are more fleshed out compared to the heroes who are usually all built in similar ways so anyone can relate to them, but with Barney, Norma and Courtney, they're unlike any character I've ever seen.

Totally disagree, mostly because the boring s**t you mentioned is pretty good representations of various types, while the mystery is still there and pretty interesting in the end. It wasn't your thing and that's fine, but this is still a very underrated show with charming animation and a nice story that hooks you up

Personally I disagree. I really enjoying the first season of this show. It’s not perfect by any means but I thought it had some pretty funny moments and a really interesting story. I also think the animation looks good. I don’t get why everyone doesn’t like, it it looks fine. The story really doesn’t kick into action until episode seven but I’m fine with that. Since it’s the first season I can understand that they have to do a little world building and set up characters before they can get into the story. I think all the characters are really likable and I especially like Courtney. Something that really surprised me was the episode 9 was randomly a musical and all the songs were really good for some reason😂. So yeah I really enjoyed the first season of the show but Logs sucks. Logs is one of the worst love interests I think I have ever seen. He literally has no personality whatsoever. I am happy to say in the second season he actually gets a personality so that’s good at least. I also don’t understand why at the end of the season Pugsley can still talk even though he’s not possessed anymore. Oh yeah the second season came out a few days ago and I already watched the entire thing. I have much more mixed feelings on the second season than I do on the first. I think the first season is a solid 8 out of 10 but I have no idea how I would rank the second season because I just have so many mixed feelings on it

I have no clue why trans people choose their names. Some times it's because they feel like a guy from media, and choose theirs, some times they choose the name their parents wanted if they had been born the oppiset gender(that is what I would have done if I was trans, tho I'm not. Just been pondering it way too much for my own good 😅). Some times there is this name they feel a much stronger connection to than what they were given. And some times they just go from "Gina" to "Gill" since it's so close to their own name. It kind of seemed like a dude, a long while after starting hormone blockers, to the degree that people has forgotten he's dead name. If that is the scenario, then it probably wouldn't come up, and he wouldn't want it to come up. He seems like a dude that does not like to get dead-named. And that is fair for those people. @@beemaisterreviews1623 its a really underrated science fiction horror series from 2002 made by nelvada animation, its a lot like courage the cowardly dog and invaders zim, in that it gose hard with scary concepts, the 3th episode has straight up a serial killer, it gose into body possession and getting a body part sawed off, it talks about the long term effects of child abuse
There is a Immortal football team of Spanish world war 2 fascists, and the main charachter dies to save his best friend, there is quite some messed up stuff in this series and it breaks my heart nobody talks about it now that it turned 20 years anniversary
@@beemaisterreviews1623 moville mysteries takes a lot after the Twilight zone and eerie Indiana and to some of the fans who watched it even consider it being better then Gravity falls cus of the clearly more sinister way it conducts its mysteries and the way how most of the charachters come to very gruesome ends
