We're elated to present a new video edit of Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 5, in Chloe Chua's first appearance as the youngest-ever Artist-In-Residence of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, back in July 2022. She is 15 at the time of this recording. Happy holidays from the Singapore Symphony family!
Even at this young age of 15, Chloe Chua gives the world a master-class in Violin with this exquisite performance - full confidence AND accuracy in fingering every note and flawless bowing technique. She is an inspiration to all humanity in whatever their vocation. This concert is a moment to cherish forever.
@@user-jd-9fd It really is just Chloe (in the sense that it is extremely rarely, if ever, that other performances of the same works have such restorative effect).
@singaporesymphony Thank you for posting this masterpiece! Chloe Chua is undeniably a gifted violinist with a unique voice and exceptional technical prowess. I am so happy to be a follower of SSO and a member of this wonderful community.
And suddenly there was with the angels, Chloe Chua and the SSO sending her music heavenward, and then returning it to earth for all of us to be enraptured. She is at one with her violin and the music, and we are the grateful recipients. While the acoustics of the symphony hall there are amazing, kudos to the videographer(s) and sound engineer(s) to make this recording at once so glorious and yet so intimate. Time to get back to Singapore, Chomp Chomp, and now a possible concert with Ms. Chua.
Thank you for posting this! The entire ensemble under Hans Graf is wonderful, and Chloe always brings a smile to the whole performance, Merry Christmas and Happy 2025 everyone!🎼🎻✨
She has so much musicality this is so impressive. Because usually Asian young (like 8-14) are like just technical machines, while Cloe just nailed this beautiful concerto on all regards 😊
She has this wonderful sound, sweet but intense with an edge to it - perfect for Mozart. There is a story of when Yehudi Menuhin was a child he desperately wanted to play the Beethoven concerto, but Persinger, his teacher at the time, made him learn the Mozart A major first - he memorised it in a few days and then played it for the teacher, apparently so mechanically and with less respect for the great music than it deserved, that it was like a hurdy gurdy. His teacher (for the first and only time) lost his temper and told him to do it again. This time, Menuhin recalled, he was enchanted by the music, played it well - and all was forgiven.
@ I know, obviously she has years and years of experience ahead of Chloe. But it’s not my fav because of that criteria. I just like her style with Mozart more.
Every time I see a new recording/performance from Chloe coming, I know I’m about to have a new favorite recording of that piece. I’m assuming she will do Sibelius at some point, I can’t wait.
Does somebody know which cadenza she is playing? It can be a violinist, who gives me an answer? I do not know tthe cadenza for the slow movement. Joachim´s cadenza?
The cadenzas are by the contemporary American musicologist, composer and pianist Robert Levin. I like them very much. Levin has written cadenzas for all of Mozart's violin concertos, and Gidon Kremer performs all of them in his cd box set of the concertos 1 - 5, although not as well as Chloe does!

Absolute perfection! But then again, it’s Chloe Chua! ❤️😃
Every time i listen to her play its like putting on a band aid to my soul. Thank you!
It’s not just her, it’s also the power of the melody and the overall expression of the notes

🙏 Chloe Chua is Brilliant and Beautiful! 🕊&❤
Years fly by, the suns shine. Flowers cover thy head and all the tears dry. Our faces shine with smiles and the years just fly by.
Once again Chloe has transported us to the magical place only she can take us to. Paradise.

Don't get me wrong she's amazing,Hilary Hahn is better

@Violin-Villain
Chloe's Mozart is way better than Hilary's.
@jackburgess8579 objectively wrong that's all I have to say
@Violin-Villain
You are cloth eared and/or lacking in musical taste (and understanding of Mozart).
Chloeeeee

日本にはいつ来てくれるのでしょう? シンガポール交響楽団をお供に連れて一緒においで下さい。
beautiful ❤👏 👏👏
천재소녀!
She can still do it. Playing. I have not heard and watched nher on YT for a long time.
This video was from 2 years ago??
Beautiful like always, her dress is so pretty as well!
Another perfected piece by chloe chua, self esteem 😅
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
chloe❤
I cried the whole video
What cadenza is this?
The cadenzas are by Robert Levin.
Chloe also used his cadenzas in her performance of Mozart #2.
Gidon Kremer also uses Levin's cadenzas.
