I have Giardia! I have had it for YEARS! Begged doctors to listen to me, but ALL of their reactions were the same, that dumb clueless stare 😡 I did so many stool samples and all came out negative. So, I bet them to their own game...I ordered Ivermectin (from out of the US) (Can't get it here. Which is so stupid. It freaking safer than an asprin!) Anyway, I took the Ivermectin, waited a few days and did a stool sample. THERE THEY WERE! POSITIVE TEST! FINALLY I had proof! I was finally given Tinidazole. The first treatment didn't work, the second treatment worked better. Now on my third treatment 🙏🙏🙏 It works! Good luck to anyone that has this. Proving it is a nightmare.
Mebendazole & Ivermectin at the same time. The problem is getting doctos to believe you have it! It hardly ever shows up in your stool hence,behy I did the ivermectin to bring them out and had a stool sample test waiting at home. Immediately did the sample and turned it in to the lab. Giardia was one of the worst experiences of my life. Utterly traumatic. Couldn't keep down water for 17 days. Ended up being seen by 4 doctors before one asked for a stool sample and diagnosed it. Was only nauseous and vomited when I ate food. Even a few grains of rice would come up. I lost 13kg and became emaciated. 2 antiobiotic pills was all it took to fix.
I had a near death experience and still having problems digesting. It has taken 2 different antibiotics, a week long and then it didn't go away so then 4 pills I had to down at once. I'm almost 2 weeks later and having allowed myself to forego the SMARTS diet and ate absolutely everything I craved, I am hitting either a wall of inability to break it all down, maybe too few enzymes and still injured microvilli or.. i fear it's drug resistant oh God i hope not the latter
Thank God it showed up in your stool! Otherwise they wouldn't have believed you. It's been years of struggle for me. Finally got a positive test. 1st dose of Tinidazole didn't work. Second dose worked better. Now on third dose.

I recently got it , woke up in the middle of the night with a horrible stomach pain. I had the stomach pain for 2 hours and finally had diarrhea with a very foul gassy smell. I had lots of bubbling in my stomach the first day and had no idea why. The second week I started feeling weak and sleeping alot more. Started feeling really bad muscle aches and serious joint pains, also getting annoying muscle twitches. Hate having it, also certain foods make my stomach bubble more and gassy. The worst part for a year was the joint pains, the doctor told me it might be arthritis or heartburn. It also cause my stomach to not digest right the food would get stopped halfway down my intestines on the X-ray. Not sure why my stomach got round and hard like a ball, had one doc say it was fluid and another didn’t know.

6 weeks of ongoing diarrhea. Nothing wrong with my exams. Doctor said it is IBS. I doubt IBS makes people to wake up at 3 am to have explosive diarrhoea. I'm starting to lose weight now. It is so frustrating I had to ask my mum to send the medicine from abroad because NHS in the UK refuses to accept the possibility it is giardia and give me the treatment.
I think, you reinfected yourself, when yu go out to restaurant or eat out and also at home you need to super clean your toilet and everywhere you touch walls etc toilet paper place. not all disinfectants can kill giardia at toilet . Reinfected easy, pleasu swim pools or lakes anything, to wash hands with soap before any meal, also food you put to fridge have been touched by workers who go to toilet and dont wash hands well. Wash all you can for fridge with soap or spray with 70% alcohol. Goodluck

2 pills or 2 prescriptions of different pills over many, many days?

Yes! And a lot better. But had to take the antibiotics (Tinidazole) 3x before they were completely gone.

I was just tested and have Giardia intestinalis, endolimax nana and crypto. Doctor wants me to take Tinidazole 500 mg bid for 21 days for Giardia.
Giardia would be uncommon when eating bananas because you peel thm first
