I suspect that this Ultras thing with flares is a fad. I wouldn't be necessarily see the European fan cultures as something we should follow without question. Having seen a lot of football in the Netherlands the atmosphere is electric for home fans but as an away fan it's dire. The Dutch experience for away fans is even worse than the "bubble" fixtures like Swansea v Cardiff. Driven into a locked compound, then watching from a perspex box. As somebody who has been a vocal fan, home and away, I find now the "no pyro no party" fans a bit odd, they seem more interested in having a good time rather than actually cheering on their team. Maybe that's a product of the effect of lockdown or perhaps trying to produce something to look good on Tiktok, but it's very different from watching football in the 1990s when I started. Football is entertainment after all, but to be honest with you if flares were to disappear again from football I wouldn't miss them in the slightest. Either way I'll still be watching football.
After a goal and full time are great times for Pyro. Before kickoff is not always great, especially if there is an early kickoff, daylight at kickoff for flares
