That really is an excellent addition to the bandsaw Rob; of all your very ingenious jigs and helpers the bandsaw cradle is definitely one of your very best. Cheers mate.

Definitely need to make this and avoid some sketchy bandsaw cuts prepping blanks for the lathe

Of course it would work and I can see the benefit of making one to prep stock intended for the lathe.

I will try this build and give you a heads up on my opinion, but it seem to be a great little jig

Maybe add a slight chamfer on the back cutout edge, so as wood is sliding past the blade, if it rocks down a little, it will ramp it back up to outfeed side and not bump the edge

Couple of thoughts, first of all being Cut four squares. Don’t worry if they’re not perfect it’s academic. Now cut them in half diagonally from corner to corner and again don’t worry if it’s not 100% perfect. The only thing that truly matters is that you have a 45° cut. Next, instead of cutting two boards, the same length for the V cut one board the width of the gap for your bandsaw blade shorter than the other and then cut that board in half. Now using either crazy glue or hot glue position, one of the triangles on one of the ends of the boards with the glue so that board is laying flat on the 45 surface and leading edge is on your flat work surface. Next do the same at the other end, and finally for your longboard position it on the flat surface with the glue on your 45 pieces, and slide them in where they belong. If you haven’t already pre-drilled and countersunk, do so now and screw them together. If you want to get fancy, put a 45° router bit into a router table and you can chamfer off the adjoining edges to 45° and that way if you wish to you could glue the opposing surfaces together when you go to mount them on the board that will sit on the bandsaw table. A quick change to your design. I would use two boards the same size. Start by drilling, a hole in the center The same size as the gap on the one side if you’re V-shaped guide and then use any saw you want to cut straight from the edge to that circle. On the bottom of one Cut a dado, and on the top of the other put a guide strip to fit into that dado. On the bottom of that lower board, put a Nother guide block to fit into the bandsaw tables, miter gauge slot. Cut your two slots for your adjustment bolts to go through so you can slide it closer or further from the blade.

Can I just say that Even Vee would be a good name for a band?
