I purchased new a 1987 Chevy S-10 long bed 4 speed manual that was red and white two tone. It was my first new vehicle that I purchased all on my own when I was 21. That truck was special. Thirty seven years later and looking at this truck makes me happy. Good job.
Finally! Someone who fixes up one of these squarebodies without lowering it to a ridiculous amount and slapping on thin tacky tired. You don't know how infuriating that is to see SO many people do that! I'm a stock guy, I prefer original as much as possible.
I fell in love with those trucks when they first came out. To this day I still want one like that. Good find man. Keep it for life. ✅️🥇🥇💯💯💯💯💯⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍👍👍👍👍
My first vehicle (2010) was a 1987 S10. Reg cab short bed 2.8L 5 speed 4x4. Ohio special with floorboard, rocker and fender arch delete. The bed was held on by one bolt and the tailights lol. I loved that truck and I will buy a nice one like this one someday.
A friend of mine had that exact same truck (84 model, I believe; maybe 83). Same color, bed, and trans. We moved a piano in that stupid thing once. Three of us were in the back holding the piano in -- it was tied down but not real well. Driving down the road, my friend was playing it and we were singing! People rolled down their windows at stop lights and cheered!
Good looking truck my mother had one the exact same color except for she had the stock Chevrolet rims on hers v6 I think those are the best trucks made in those years👏🏽👏🏽👍🏾
That is absolutely amazing! I mean the leaves in the truck bed didn't rot the steel at all. It wasn't even rusty! But then again, neither were the rotors on the front brakes. And the door cards color wasn't faded at all😮 With no cracks and no real surface dirt that I could see... A little soap and water and they almost look new.. Exactly how long was this truck sitting in the woods? Over the weekend?😊 It did come out sharp looking tho!
Ole truck ain't in bad shape good clean and wax job with only 4 thousand miles truck ain't even broke in yet and it looks way better with them factory rims
My stepdad had a 93 with the 2.8 ? I think 🤔 5speed it was totalled twice and rebuilt again no expense spared the 3rd time repainted blue looked and drove like a brand new truck, it belonged to several family members got many many miles
I got 422,000 miles original engine 2000 5.3 vortex ,original timing chain Chevy Silverado. Replaced engine with a lower mileage engine even though the original engine was still running. I was afraid of it shitting the bed and leaving me stuck somewhere. I replaced it with a 2005 5.3 and had my specialist replace the timing chain . It had 110,000 original miles. Bought it for $800.00. The reason it lasted so long is regular oil and filter changes, Every 3000 miles, and run detergent gas. Change oil religiously since new. Transmission went at 377,000 miles. My fault, skipped a transmission service for a couple of years,… that neglect cost me $2300. Every year folks, that the formula. Bought the truck for $21,000 n 2001. 24 years of reliable service, looking for 24 more. Pretty cheap for a great truck.
I should have added that in the video. I didn’t even think about it but the original owner had it parked in his garage in the alley behind his house. It was a very tight alley on a hill and a pain to get it out so he didn’t take it out much. He just drove his other vehicle. He then got sick and wasn’t able to drive or take care of his home. The garage got so bad that it needed torn down and the truck just got parked outside and he never drove it again. He was very sad to see the state it was in and even more sad to sell it. I’ve tried contacting him to show him but no luck yet
That's what's called an "end of life" vehicle. Pee pop bought it and got to run a few errands in it before his doctor and asshole kids told him he was finished driving. I'm just speculating, but that's how it usually goes.
@@adambell6941you’re almost right on! The owner had a couple other vehicles he drove and this one sat in his garage. Then he unfortunately got sick, and his home and garage became so bad to where the garage had to be torn down. Hence why this was outside

That is awesome! I’m glad to hear, thank you!!
They were special trucks in 17 years I only had to change the clutch. And the common things! I loved my S-10 blue on the bottom the rest white!
Them Red and White's were rare.
Like your UA-cam videos on that Chevy s10@@TheA1-Auto
Absolutely amazing transformation! You made that truck look brand new! Great job! Keep up the great work!
Than you I appreciate that!!

Love the fact he put the stock rims back on 👍
I agree! Gotta keep this one original

Fabulous work.

Awesome 👌🏼 👏 👍 😍 job looks like a new truck .
Thank you so much!
What a find! Don’t need VGG to resurrect that one. The breather cover flipped is classic 😄.
lol yep good eye!
Awesome job! Id love to have an old S10 to do an LS Swap. It would be a firecracker
Thank you! Same though! That’s my goal eventually

Awesome video. Enjoyed the content a lot. Do you ever do this live or narrated? Thanks for posting
Thank you!! I actually just started. I would like to do a lot more. I’ll be looking for more cars so keep an eye out for more videos

That is awesome. That kind of mileage is crazy! It really is amazing how long something can last if it’s taken care of properly.
Did the ol man do the air cleaner lid flip on it? Nice looking truck for sure!
lol yes he did good eye!
Very cool! Would love to know backstory on how it ended up parked at 4k miles

So what did y’all restore all I seen y’all do is give it a good cleaning
wtf why would someone leave a low mileage truck liked that

nice work 👍now for an LS swap !
Gotta keep this one stock unfortunately!
What was the story on this truck crazy to think no one did anything with it for all these years and just let it sit
Barret Jackson called ☎️
That’s a possibility!
👍✨
Excellent job everything except not putting bigger wheels and tires something nice not pimped out
Should’ve tinted the glass while it was out
I honestly like this truck better without it it
Is this truck for sale ?
Is it for sale?
Better go ahead and replace the door handles, buy 3 sets
Uma pena não ter esse no Brasil
Price just went up 1000 $
Is it for sale
Everything is for sale for the right price!
How much?
Раньше делали веши!
I bet they didn't make a lot of long bed S-10's.
I’m not totally sure but I think they’re more common then you would think
@@TheA1-Auto I just never seen one around here back then. Why did they park it? That low of miles is strange.
tops
I own a 93 like for 12 years , i dont drive it cause it dont wana pass smog emissions 😢
Why would someone put all that goofy chrome on a brand new truck?
Who knows. May have been the style then, I wanted to take it off but didn’t want to risk peeling the paint
It's a 80's truck it was cool back then or it belonged to a trucker with the semi horn on the roof
@@MichaelWilliams-vb6wrmost Truckers I know like full size trucks!
Owner must have went crazy in the JC Whitley’s catalog. Chrome strips, bed rails, cab lights, fender trim and bumperettes !
Would have liked to seen that stick on chrome removed. The first owner must have gone in to auto zone and said, “Gimmie one of everything.”
Woukd be better with out the stupid music !
