What I don't understand is your example of a salary of 18k meaning you contribute £69.6 per month (9:25) That adds up to £835.2 per year. But then you go on to give an example with a 25k salary and show that the annual pension you've paid in is only £510.20 (17:32). Surely it should be more? Does this include what your employer also contribute? I don't see that amount listed separately on my annual breakdown.

You misunderstood- example 1: £18,000 per year salary you contribute 5.8% of your salary (£1,044) but with 20% tax relief it actually works out at 4.6% of salary (£1,044 x 0.8 = £835.20) and accrues £367.34 pension (£18,000/49 = £367.34)
Example 2: £25,000 per year salary you contribute 6.5% of your salary (£1,625) but with 20% tax relief it actually works out at 5.2% of salary (£1,625 x 0.8 = £1,300) and accrues £510.20 pension (£25,000/49 = £510.20)

I'm trying to contact them from the email on the letterhead but it's invalid. The website is useless and I've already been holding on the phone for 26 minutes. All because they're giving me the wrong advice as HMRC have made clear. Joke.
