Kawai ES-120..what a beauty, I love the minimalist design and the piano sound is wonderful! I was looking for a beginner piano and I think I found it! 👌🥰

Just picked this up a few days ago. Absolutely love it. Great action, sound, and sleek look. Extremely happy with this purchase. My last digital piano was the Yamaha dgx 650, also great, big, and full of buttons. Rather have the Kawai.

      Hi @bunkerfmpodcast.
I want to buy DP and Yamaha P225 and Kawai ES120 on my list.
What do you think about it after 1 year of use?
      Thank you

Hy Tony( I'm a Tony too...) I think that Kawai with this new ES 120 has made an evident upgrade both in the stylishing but at first in the grand pianos voices with these Shigeru Ek, than the previous ES 110. Even if, this last has been a great success in the market 'cause in its range of price and features has been a valid digital piano. For Kawai has been a great success, certainly!!! And this new ES120, about my opinion, has all the rights to become a great success in selling in the next months, too!! But Kawai could have insert more acoustic piano voices and others rather than 100 rythms that, about my opinion, are unnecessary in this kind of instrument. And a good USB flash memory in, always useful like in the Roland Fp30x. However ES 120 has without any doubt one of the best digital pianos actually in the market!!!!! Kawai engineers have made a beautiful job, really! 👏👏👏👏👌👌👌👌👍👍👍

What about in a next video a comparison between this ES120 and Roland fp30x?? It should be very useful for we buyers and very interesting to understand the differences. I think it will be a great battle of purchasing between these two astonishing and beautiful pianos!!!!

I love the dsp compression on the Roland’s and the high end cut through of the Yamahas, but both have erked me for reasons I can’t quite put my finger on, (pun intended). This Kawai seems to have unquestioned perfect piano sounds, faultless to my ears. I’ll buy it :)😊

currently love my ES110. I love how fast, light, responsive, and quick the action is. i just wish the action was QUIETER. so now seeing that the ES120 action is quieter, it's tempting to upgrade. but one thing worries me. Does the added cushioning and other action changes to make it quieter also change the way the action FEELs to play? how would you compare it to how it feels to play the ES110? Especially in terms of super fast passages, rapid repeated notes with finger exchanges, and trills/ornaments (big for baroque music)? The main reason i chose the ES110 was because it had a much more quick/light/responsive action compared to other offerings in the same price range from Roland/Yamaha/Casio when i tried them in showrooms. so if i ever upgraded i would really want the same feeling action.
    Thank you in advance

Wow, I must say this is the most beautiful piano sound quality I've heard so far of the ES120. In most other videos and in the store I tried it, I found the sound to be too sharp for my taste and not really as authentic as I would have thought (I actually preferred the Yamaha P125 for its warmth and true to life pianosound, even though it was a bit less clear and broad in its soundscape if you will). Did you use any special settings? Like turn the voice to 'mellow' and/or turn down the brilliance level? (Or maybe something to do with the internal speaker EQ?) It would be great if you could 'enlighten' me, so I can give it another run at the piano dealer's. (Since otherwise there's a lot to like about this piano, especially the matte texture of the keys...) Thanks!

@Ed Thanks for your reply. Yes, that's actually the case. I now own this piano and indeed, with the internal speaker EQ turned off it sounds much better.

Hi how does px 160 casio compare to es 120? We have the cn29 at home but we need another one that will be portable ti play at school. Till now the cassio px 160 was ok for playing in the class but since we had the cn29 at home my son don't like to play the cassio at school at all. We wonder if the es120 can be more satisfying to play in school than the old cassio px 160

I bought es120 in December and I have connected 2 studio monitor on line out but the volume is very very quiet.the monitors are working good with all the other sources i have. I wish to know if someone have this problem too or is a problem of mine. For let you understand, with max volume is like to hear the internal speaker at 30% and if you have this piano you know how much is quiet also to max volume.. Thank you

    It's a tough choice between the es120 es520 or Roland fp60x.

    • @dulistanheman
      @dulistanheman Рік тому +3

If you're looking for portability, go with either Kawai you like, because Roland fp60x is pretty heavy. The Big brother one, the fp90x is even more heavier. Both fp60x and fp90x are for stationary in term of weight.
The Pros of fp60x over Kawai es520 is the Polyphony, 256 vs 192.
Action wise, go with Roland in this Price range.
For gigging around without breaking your back, go with Kawai.

Sadly the quality of the ES120 is patchy, with rough sides to the white keys. Bonners reply, to quote their email, "I understand that it may not be to your liking, but it is a characteristic of these particular Kawai digital pianos." And then they retain the return courier fee - £59.
Over many decades, I've never known any piano that's I've owned or played to ever have rough keys that irritate thumbs or fingers, even old pub pianos or cheap synthesisers..
If that's the quality that Bonners believes is acceptable then they have gone seriously downhill since I started buying pianos and equipment from them 20 years ago. I wouldn't recommend Bonners now unless you can try in store the very instrument you're taking home. And if that's indicative of Kawai's and their resellers' accepted quality, I'd look at other manufacturers. Sorry Tony, lost custom.
