I wonder what would be the price tag for a full on tarmac sealed road up the road and how this would mitigate water seeping under foundations and whether there would be an economically viable model of building access roads up NZ skifields, like the notorious Mt Hutt access road. The limited season would not turn over enough profit for sure, but the overall cost for a road that is good and requires little maintenance while allowing for ice slip conditions and boulders etc. Interesting job as an civil engineer I reckon.
