He seems to be a hybrid of Palmer and Gallagher. In the sense that he seemed creative (but not to the level of Palmer) and physical/hardworker (not to the level of Gallagher). If he can regularly play at the level he had when he played against us, then for 30M is a good signing, (def better than Drinkwater XD)

Yes I agree we have a lot of midfielders, but I don’t think any are left footers. More Importantly, we’ve not had any goal scoring midfielders since Frank (and I include Kova, Kante, RLC, Jorginho). Of all our current midfielders, their TOTAL goals last season don’t match what KDH did on his own, even if it was in the Championship. And regarding Championship players, would you have signed Mason Mount after his Derby season, or Reece after Wigan?

The real reason why Chelsea signed KDH was because we missed out on Olise the plan was the play Palmer as our left sided #8 Olise on the RW but our sporting directors & maresca had talks about that position & KDH was mentioned by Maresca & the board liked the player & he suits the system & played with the manager & his age fits the bill also

That's not usually how it works out, though. The coach will favor some players and prefer them at 98% over some others at 100%, which means some players end up sitting in the stands game after game after game. And you don't want to constantly be changing your midfielders constantly anyway. It would mean none of them end up building chemistry with each other.
Guys come on, England as a whole has improve a lot in the type of football they play. It pushes players at every level of the pyramid in England, there are teams like Leicester, Leeds, and Southampton that had really good players but were playing bad football it is why they got relegated. It is why we talk about players like KDH, Summerville, Gnonto, Archie gray, Meslier, Vardy at his prime. KDH is a good player under the right coach he will play well

This is the first time a Chelsea fan can actually enjoy good, beautiful, entertaining football. I am happy for them. No more boring, simple, fossil, prehistoric, kick and rush, direct, park the bus, long ball anti football. Their fans won’t be in fear anymore, they don’t have to praying not to hire managers like Southgate, Lampard, Dyche, Mourinho, Pulis, Gerrard, Conte, SteveBruce, Neville, Hodgson, Benitez, Rooney, Allardyce or Moyes.
Did KDH play as a standard midfielder for Leicester last season? Or did he play more or less the same role for Leicester that Cole Palmer was playing for us at the end, except bending to the left instead of to the right? And if we're going to be effectively giving Palmer's number 10 slot to KDH then what's going to happen to Palmer's production? Is he going to be stuck as the outside right? Is that a good trade, losing all of Palmer's production for a guy who did half as well in more minutes in the Championship? Keep in mind that a big part of why our right side was so dominant was having sometimes the full trio of Palmer, Madueke, and Gusto overloading the defense in that area, with both Gusto and Madueke threatening on the outside and both Palmer and Madueke threatening on the inside. For all his flaws, that Pochetino Special did actually work very well. But that's not going to be possible with Maresca's tactics, is it? He wants his number 8 midfielders to bomb forward, and he wants his fullbacks (both of them) to stay defensive. No more Gusto or James bombing forward, keeping the width. And if KDH is taking the more attacking number 8 slot, the one that effecitvely plays like a 10, then there's not going to be much company on the right, is there? That won't exactly make the most of what Palmer can do, will it? Meanwhile, we'll have a number 10 who mostly wants to run into an area where we just don't have a lot of strong players to help. Cucu at fullback is mostly pants offensively, even if he does come forward, which he probably will not do that much. Mudryk and Sterling have the occasional good game but unfortunately also their too regular not-so-good games. Or are we going to use Nkunku as the nominal outside left and have him rotate to the inside while KDH stays wide? I don't see any free lunches here. The only way things would seem to work out is if KDH is actually going to play the outside left position, solving the issue we're having with Mudryk and Sterling being interchangably underwhelming. Otherwise it just doesn't seem to fit with what I think we collectively reckon that we might expect from Maresca. Try setting it up on a piece of paper, and keep in mind that Maresca appears to be rather adamant about his 3-2 defensive back end while attacking, so there's probably only going to be 5 attackers. And it isn't too unlikely that those 5 will be an outside left, a number 10, a number 8, an outside right, and a center forward. It is possible, of course, that the number 8 here will essentially be an inside right forward, and that Maresca will keep two central midfielders back, use the last central midfielder for the number 10 on the left, and have the right fullback bomb forward for outside right. It is possible but that's a long run for the right fullback, and I seem to remember that Maresca doesn't like these long positional changes, which is why he'd rather keep the fullbacks back and use number 8's that are closer to that area. And let's remember that if we do change to a different coach that isn't this married to a single approach, a single way to play, then we might not need a midfielder who really only shines when he can bomb forward, roam all over the place, and doesn't have too many defensive responsibilities. Happened to Dele Alli at Spurs. Happened to Isco and James R at Real. Happened to Lingaard at Man Utd. Even happened to Özil.
