State Senator Says She Will Terminate Non-Viable Pregnancy

- Arizona State Senator Eva Burch spoke to her colleagues on the floor of the senate about her longtime fertility struggles, a previous miscarriage, and what she says are the intrusive and unnecessary steps she has to go through to end her pregnancy. She called on her colleagues to pass laws based on expert medical advice, not politics. Inside Edition Digital’s Mara Montalbano has more.

i turned 17 about a week ago & i completely understand how life-changing abortions can be. i wouldn’t be alive if my mom hadn’t gotten one, and she wouldn’t have been alive either. she had an ectopic pregnancy and was going to die, along with the baby, if she didn’t get the abortion procedure after she miscarried. abortion is healthcare & saves lives
Remember Vote democrat! Or have republicans control everything
Do some people even know what non-viable means?
I get the impression they probably think that means it wasn't raised in a vial.
It means the baby isn't going to live outside the womb, or is either already dead/miscarried via not breathing/no heartbeat
@@user-th9fv5hn1z AVERAGE NUMBER OF ABORTION SURVIVORS EACH YEAR: 1,734. This baby has a chance to survive and deserves advocacy for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Just heartbreaking we as women have to go through this with these laws! Losing the baby is already traumatic enough 😢

I heard the whole speech and I recommend everyone hear it. Despite being a private and personal matter, this brave woman stands up and shows these uncaring lawmakers the face of those women who have to make this tough, tough decision. No one decides to have an abortion lightly.
I listened to her full address to to he fellow Arizona legislators, and her message and language were very moving and insightful and inspired by social justice and compassion. ❤
Yes, base the laws on licensed experts and not holier than thou politicians .
I would never have an abortion but then again, I'm not a woman. It should be a woman's decision whether to terminate her pregnancy, not what a bunch of middle aged male legislators decide is best for her.
What does the legislators being male have to do with this?

I wonder what the abortion laws and abortion rate would look like if men could give birth
@@anacc3257
🤨🤨🤨
So if your baby was already dead in the womb and giving birth to it would kill you as well; you’d rather both of you die? Then you’d be committing suicide, which is also against Christianity.
Yea let’s let some old men determine what’s best for women’s health 🙄
I know a woman who had to carry around her dead baby in her body for months because Dr's refused to abort. Traumatizing
My great grandmother went crazy when she was forced to carry her twin fetuses, when they died and were rotting inside of her! She lived, but had blood poisoning and almost died! She was never the same! VOTE BLUE!!
And they wonder why more and more women forego the risks and choose to remain barren.
The cruelty of anti-abortion laws is the point.
Poor lady.
it's not any of our business anyway! what the hell
Republicans think it's their business.
Bless this woman's bravery.
You're right; she shouldn't have to do this but she's standing up for other women.
It’s not about whether or not it’s our business. She’s made it our business by telling us. It’s a message she’s trying to send. And I hope lawmakers hear it

What does the doctor do with unborn child.
What does your orange king tell you?
Sends it to the monks so it can learn air-bending
I know it hurts sometimes but not everybody can have kids🤔
I'm sure it hurts all the kids in foster care, & the adoption system, to see people waste tons of time & money, & risk the woman's health, to try to have babies, when they're already here, & needing a home
I hope the woman in the above video, will now consider adoption, & she can make making that process easier, cheaper, & more accessible, another cause she champions
@@lauranolastnamegiven3385 How will or why would someone adopt a dead baby? Non-viable means it will not survive until birth. Abortion or not, that is a dead baby and possibly a dead mother too.
Not all abortion is like this one. I don’t think we can put this one and “Oops I got pregnant” all in one category.
I agree but these people don’t understand
Abortion should remain legal, regardless of the circumstance. You don’t have the right to judge anyone.
@@foreverskye4683 I think it’s an interesting discussion for sure. Up to how many weeks pregnant do you think one should be able to abort pregnancy? Where do you draw the line?
What is ‘non-viable?
it means that the baby will die either in the womb or shortly after birth. typically it’s because the fetus is deformed or has a condition preventing it from surviving
Look it up. Educate yourself and read about it. (I mean that in the most respectful tone possible, not trying to come after you).
Baby is dead. This isn't an abortion. It's called a D&C, dilation and curettage. Catholic hospitals do these. Sometimes, the woman's body will not get rid of a dead baby (as in no heartbeat) . This is when medically, practitioners have to intervene. This also happens with "retained placenta" which is after a baby has successfully been delivered and the body won't do what it should naturally do and expel the placenta. Women can and usually will get sepsis and die in either case if medical intervention isn't done. It's not an abortion though.

Has the baby died? That wouldn't be an abortion. But to kill an unborn child because you refuse to use any kind of birth control or you're mad at the father is murder.
A fetus is not formed until 10 weeks of pregnancy, so it is not an “unborn child” at first. Secondly, you do know that birth control can fail right, and why would a woman inform about the abortion if she’s mad about the father, she just wouldn’t tell him.
Yes but a fetus cannot survive at 6, 7, 8, etc weeks.
Non viable...look it up
@@fluteloops22”Heartbeat” doesn’t kick in until there is a fully formed heart, which does not exist at the 6 week mark.

What a sick individual to say you don't have to justify an abortion. The murder of your unborn child, the most vulnerable human being in existence, is something that is never justified.
She doesn't have to justify why, it's actually no one's business but she decided to share anyways.
@@jennifer.b.l OK, so if someone decides to murder their mother, that's just their business, correct? No need for police or an investigation. Just a family affair. Is that right?
If it's not even going to live yes it is, do you want her to birth a rotting corpse???
@@ohhi9195 Was the baby still alive? Then its murder if you end the child's life. It's pretty simple really.

i have no right to tell anyone what they can do, but im telling you right now you can not tell me your going to kill my child casue you dont want to deal with stress and pain. the father (good men) go through the heartache also
When you deal with the same stress and pain you can make those decisions 👍
Do you not know what non viable means?
@CrazyPeople62789 I was not talking about this exact case. But there have been many cases where doctors have been totally wrong and the baby makes it and is fine. Why do you get to play God
@@kitchkitch-my7uowe play god all of the time.
@@kitchkitch-my7uoWe already play God when doctors perform surgeries to save lives that otherwise would of been lost. We already play God by trying to cure cancer and lethal diseases instead of 'letting nature take it's course'.
Have doctors been wrong about defective fetuses? Sure but I've heard stories of women that were forced to carry dead fetuses because the state wouldn't let them abort. The doctors said the fetus won't make it and they were right. Those women were so traumatized by the ordeal they sterilized themselves because they didn't want to risk going through it again.
If a woman wants to wing it and hope for the best regarding a dangerous or non viable pregnancy: let her. But if she decides she can't go through with it then no one should be allowed to stop her.
I mean what about cloning?
