Hey! Thanks for posting this. I have been watching a boat load of videos for the scout. I love the look of this bike and wondered how I would fit. I am 6"3 240 pounds. When I saw you hovering over the bike it made me realize I will have to find something else.... why is it so difficult to find a sweet ride for us "tall" people.
I’m 6’1 about 245-250lbs muscular build and I’m having doubts about this bike now. Don’t want it to look like a kids bike but I love the power this thing puts down. Any alternatives?
Tad over 6'3" and 36" waist, I feel pretty gigantic on the bike but still workable so my love for the bike outweighs the awkward looks. I run Indian 10" hangers, Saddlemen LS solo seat, and stock pegs. I'm pretty comfortable on the bike several months into owning but what I wouldn't give to stretch this bike out a couple inches in every direction. I'd still recommend tall riders at least try it out, especially with hangers to see if its something they can live with.
I'm 6'3" and honestly feel quite comfortable on the bike, albeit probably look a bit silly because I'm "dwarfing" the bike lol. The only thing I really think will help comfort is extended foot controls, just like you got, to be able to extend the legs out a bit further forward but I've been concerned about turning/scraping like you explained.
It doesn't happen as often as I think it comes across in the video, but it was definitely disconcerting the first few times. I think less severe extensions, like two inches or so, would help just as much without scraping.
I’m just a shade under 6’3.” I got the comfort seat which sits up a little higher and 8” dean speed bars. Positions me perfectly comfortable without the ape hanger look
I've actually looked into getting the 8" Dean Speed bars, but I figured I'd have to get new brake lines and that kinda turned me off the idea. Did you do the install yourself?
@@SquarewhiteTV I did not do the install. I dropped them off at the dealership before the bike was even delivered. I wasn’t driving off the lot with those stock bars lol but no you don’t need new cables for install. At least not for the Low Ball bars I got.
I'm 6"3, too and would like to take this opportunity to thank you for this informative video, because the Scout is out of the race for me. Despite the pegs, the seat, etc., it still looks too much like a gorilla on a coconut, especially since I'm even bulkier. Thank you again and always have a safe trip.
I put these free spirit forward controls on the bike. Major game changer. I am 6ft 2". Thanks for the post and the information. Went on a 1 hour ride and was the best ride ever since owning the bike. Love the "scout"
Well ... So much for that lol😂, I'm 6'7 and roughly 400 pounds, wide shoulders and size 16 double wide boots, that all being said.... My boots are definitely going to drag and I would look ridiculous on that thing. Thanks for making this video man, good information
I’m leaning towards the Indian 1920 solo seat. I’m 6’ but with long legs. I thought about the extended reach controls but I’ll start with the seat. I enjoy your content and the look of your Bobber. I feel the essence of a bobber is minimalistic and raw. Love my Metzeler white walls and Radical Radius exhaust!
Got a completely stock scout ABS (not the bobber) but my idea for the bike is just a (big looking) bobber I love it however I’m looking at the extension being. 6’4 I wanted to do the solo seat too but didn’t even think of one that puts you farther back. I want to take all the chrome covers and get black ones. But for the size of the bike. I love it. Thanks for the rant
For someone with a longer reach, the bobber might be more comfortable. Especially with the longer reach on the pegs. At 5'10", I feel like I'm being folded in half when I sit on the bobber. I can't stand the comfort but it's the best looking of the Scout line-up.
My cousin is 6'4. He machined his own extended reach foot pegs to give himself a 5 inch extension and to keep the position of the pegs to the bike nearly stock so they don't stick out. They sit 2 inches higher on the frame as well so he doesn't have the issue with scraping much. He had to get a custom length brake line, but he made his own extension rod for the shifter. He does underwater welding for a living on naval ships and other ships. He is pretty savvy when it comes to welding and fabrication. He looks like a giant next to his bobber compared to my nearly 5'8 frame 😂. He has a chief bobber dark horse on order right now, fits him a bit better. He's keeping the bobber though cause he loves it.
I wish I was even half that handy, damn! I like his do it yourself attitude, that's dope. I haven't had a chance to check out the new Chief models yet, but they do look like they'd fit us tall folks a lot better lol
@@SquarewhiteTV My cousin loved the seating position relation to the foot controls compared to the bobber. He said that he may or may not extend the foot controls an inch or two depending on how he feels when he physically gets his and can go for a long ride on it. Any bike is going to look somewhat small under his 6'4 210lbs frame. The Chief looks more like a natural sized bike under him than his bobber for sure. You tall guys make the bobber look like a grom haha.
I am 6.1 and i was cheking it out a 125cc "bobber" it looks really nice, but then my wife made a photo of me sitting, man i feel stupid, like this bike is much smaller then me, thanks for this video, it made me feel better about it.
I’m right at 6’0 and weigh just below 190 Ibs, do you guys think I’ll be considered too tall or big for the bike? I’m new to bikes and I’m trying to look for my first bike!
I'm 5'7" (5'8" on a good day 😜), and for me the stock settings had me reaching and sitting in a C position, reaching for the handlebars and killing my back. Switched the bars for the stock Scout ones, and it fixed the issue. So, even us short guys have to make adjustments. Given your experience, stock Bobber may be perfect for folks 5'9"-5'10"?
I'm 5'9", and I have shorter legs/longer arms. I think I'm about as comfortable as you could naturally be on the Scout Bobber. I have a little bend in my back but nowhere near a C, a slight hunch as if you were at a table and rested your chin on your hand. My legs aren't that cramped at all. The only issue I have with comfort after riding 1+ hours is the seat.

Bro the struggle is real especially as a beginner. Make a decision yet?
I just left a dealership today because of how low it was lol
Am 6”3 325 but I fell in love with Indian and looking

I didn’t realise the bike was that tiny, thank you for the perspective

I was gonna say the white wall is slick. I’m definitely gonna look for some when I black out the chrome bits on the metallic maroon

I'm only 5'11" and my 80mm Free Spirits are one of my top 3 favorite non performance mods!
Im 6-2, 250. my new Scout bobber feels great. Butt pain is my only complaint. the Comfort seat is much better.

That sounds about right to me. How much would you estimate the standard Scout bars reach back towards you?
@@SquarewhiteTV Haven't measured, but the reach looks like 6"
