I MISS these so much.. Why MR Stopped making them I have no Idea.. Id buy one today if I could find one or its equivalent! I lost my tos MR Limited comm. Tric. And TOS Phaser when 2013 Moore tornado came thru got my storage but not my life thank Goodness! Ty for sharing! Peace Best, ~Nic
Matt Jefferies designed this original series phaser. He knocked it out of the park in design. Nothing comes close . Such detail. 2nd generation crap look like dust busters.
Aw, man I miss mine. Definitely the most gorgeous Trek "replica" produced so far, but so over the top I never considered it a replica of any prop but more of an idealized full size model with the makes of fine jewelry. With the weighty feel of a real firearm plus I think many friend or foe could've sustained a concision or smashed toe without firing a single round. And provided 23rd century Velcro could hold the thing to ones belt, their trousers would be falling down. Well, Kirk... I just geek overloaded .. OMG
Gorgeous replica!! It just seems like the real thing!! The Wand Co. Phaser is also top notch, but Master Replicas Phaser has that Prop Dept. look & feel, as though it could be an original. Either one would make a TOS fan's world light up
Good overview. I used the original design for several of my videos as well with some video effects. The number scale for the different settings is a little confusing since it didn't seem to correspond directly to stun, kill, etc.
@Jashuh1 The P2 emitter already broke on mine, which is why I won't rotate the nozzle anymore (the LED came unglued from the end of the emitter). Luckily, the P2 body comes apart easily and it is a pretty simple fix.
Didn't see that P2 emitter nozzle extending and retracting as it should by turning the bezel ring. Mine extends much farther out and nearly all the way inside the bezel.
Blackbird It works as it should but that feature is prone to break very easily. I’ve already had to open it up to make repairs once. It’s not something I want to have to do again! :-)
This is the only P2 that has the "Stun" sound. Which in itself is a shame. Coolest effect ever, and they even got the beam color right! BTW, You CAN NOT get them on ebay.
These were well designed and thought out, but when built something went wrong. Most of them have failed for various reasons, the emitter adjustment wasn't correctly assembled and have a tendency to lock-up and therefore twisting the wiring inside to failure without the owner even knowing it's happening. This video shows that the emitter is not working correctly, the tip should have come out much farther than it did, it hardly moved at all if at all. The power handle also has troubles with the
That impression at the front of the rear fins always bothered me. They just didn't make the impression at the correct angle to follow the fins. It was the first thing I noticed. MR's promo photos didn't have that flaw... but all the productions models do.
Not a problem. I have the phaser remote and the bluetooth communicator. Both feel quite hefty since they use metal parts where needed. The phaser itself easily weighs close to a pound, of not more. And unlike this one, you can find it just about any where for about $149 each. I was lucky and bought my phaser remote on ebay for only $129. :)
There’s a sign Leonard Nemoy phaser on eBay listed now for $12,000! Jeez I bought one back in the day , still have it unopened in box ! I think it cost a few hundred back then.
Master Replicas went out of business years ago. If you're looking for a decent replica check out the Wand Company's phaser and communicator. You can get them at thinkgeek.com
The shape and height of the hand phaser is not accurate compared to the Wand Company hand phaser. I printed long ago brochures of the MR Phaser replica which showed the PROPER shape, size and fit hand phaser in to the pistol mount but somehow the Chinese factory made an error in the molding process. Master Replicas should have demanded the Chinese company to redo the hand phaser to match how it was seen in the brochure before continuing to mass produce the prop. The pistol part of the MR phaser (although not laser scanned of the one surviving hero prop (actually the worst of the four hero props built) is IMHO much more accurate than the Wand Company Phaser replica. Luckily I can snap the Wand Company hand phaser in to the MR pistol mount. But for $399 to $499 (with Shatner or Nimoy signature plate) MR should have made absolutely sure that the hand phaser matched how it was pictured in their sales brochure. As good as the most recent replicas are, IMHO they are not perfect to the hero props made for the show in 1966.

If I was to buy a Star Trek TOS phaser, I think this would be it.
A beautiful phaser. Thanks for sharing.
That was stunning

i WANT one so bad! i am a big fan of star trek!
They are nice. So nice you almost never want to touch it out of fear of breaking it! :-)

Dammit, this makes me wish mine wasn't a crap one hahah. Awesome!!!
How would you go about increasing the sound ?

Can you make the phase pistol of Enterprise series?
Yeah but how do the batteries go and what do they use in them?

Did you make it?
I want a phaser...but I will need mine to actually work.
If this one actually worked we'd all be demolecullarized.
Does the p2 take batteries as well?
gordon It does. Don’t recall which type, buts it’s one of those weird ones that looks like a squished down AA battery.
Where can I get one?
best buy
You can get one from think geek.
Where can you order these? The site isn't active.
The company went out of business but you can buy a more reasonably-priced one form thinkgeek. The Wand Company Classic Phaser remote.
Thanks for the update! I've read mixed reviews of the remote.

Yes, the Wand Company's Phaser is excellent.....I have one.
Well it wouldn't be so bad if the handle connectors weren't shot.
