I also find it very useful for finding flaws in technique. When you're in suwari waza, you can't move very well, so you'll often find yourself getting stuck. Those same sticking points are probably in your standing technique, but since you can move easier you don't notice them (your body just adjusts a little). Fixing those problems in suwari waza helps fix them while standing too.
Howdy, may I ask a question please 🤔; Is the point of learning on the knees for dexterity and movement, or so if you make a mistake, it is not as far to fall? Thanks in advance for your help👍👍. Oh yes, the video is excellent. I enjoyed y'all's professionalism and obvious skills!
From my Aikido studies (years ago), the history is that it was a technique used while bound. Your feet move together because in the original technique they were bound at the angles (and sometimes your wrists were bound to your ankles as well: you can't do techniques that way, but you can "walk" when bound this way, if you're using Suwari Waza -- so you could get away from someone if you needed to). The purpose of learning it in Aikido is ... that sitting posture (Seiza) is common in East Asia in general, but also in the martial arts. When you're in that position, you're vulnerable. So what do you do if you need to defend yourself from that sitting position? Suwari Waza allows you to move around almost as freely as if you were on your feet, therefore you can do any of your Aikido techniques if you're attacked while in Seiza (or any time you're starting from your knees). And, because your center of gravity is lower than a standing person's, some people even think it can be an advantage. For a tall person defending against a shorter person, where they have the low-center-of-gravity advantage, lowering your center of gravity that way (even mid technique) can also help some. But, it's been more than 30 years since I was actively practicing Aikido. So my memory on the topic might be faulty or fuzzy.
Can you please do it wearing something else i know it's the aikido uniform but i can't see any thing and idk how to do swari waza.. beside where would i use it?
When there anime character funeral 😂 and someone attack you jump like a hero and saves her 😂 like in gintama and naruto. Try using it while standing it will be very useful if the person had a beating weapon (bat or something) or jump head punch but it's very rare some use these moves Takemicchi used 😂 it Or If your height is short it will make it easier (little bit)
So, in this one basically if someone attack while we are sitting or standing (difficult) we have to first grab the hand with her right hand and push with the left hand on the elbow and grab the elbow also after she down and make your grip stronger of both of the hand. Oh I see!
Wrestlers know this movement very well! I would say Even more than baseball catchers. Lol More like "Catch" wrestlers if you ask me lol anyway thank you so much for sharing knowledge!
+Chau Vo Ho Bao / what do you mean pick up my answer in a class .. not really informative is it ? :) , plus there is no aikido classes where i am sadly :(
Good evening to allí you people; I have been taking a look to My audio files(the ones belonging to the local folder -not kept in any outside repository-) and I have observed ( thanks Rubifén and Concerta) that I have storage 53 audio files SENT!, such an incredible thing is the reason that puts me in the necessity to así you all: How come? 2:06 this is so perfect for real life situations where you're on your knees against an opponent or if you're against someone with a height advantage against you. atleast, that's what my imagination tells me.
I recommend to all future viewers that you not "view" this per se but instead you listen to it and use your imagination for the rest. Thumbs up if you get it.

perfect for bar fights then. >:)
Lol!
The lady on whom the technique is performed is very cute
Very nice video! However, I'd refrain from using the word "butt" while teaching.
What instead are they to use? "Rear"/"buttocks"? Why?
As you are not a teacher and are never "teaching" it doesn't matter what you would do or "refrain" from doing.
Do not start martial arts☠☠☠
I dont find this to be useful
You don't find it useful to move from the ground with your center? Okay.
