Talagang magaganda ang mga lumang simbahan at malilinis at talagang materyales fuertes na di kayang tibagin ng matagal na panahon except sa kalamidad. Sana sir kung babalik ja sa Iloilo eh pakipasyalan mo rin ang oldest ng simbahan mga baptish kasi naitayo raw yun noong 1900 kung talagang maganda rin kahit hindi tayo na mga baptish. The church in Miagao is a Baroque architecture ( pronounced as "barok") . Beautiful church. Fern, it will be quite a treat if you show different architectural structures of different era, baroque, gothic, renaissance, neoclassical, art deco and modern. There are so many of these beautiful churches in the Philippines.

You missed Janiuay Iloilo Oldest Cemetery. Inaugurated in 1884, Janiuay cemetery was hailed as the most artistic cemetery in the Philippines. In fact, it was once featured in the National Geographic Magazine. But anyway there’s always a next time. Thank you so much for featuring the Old Glory of Iloilo.

Hindi po totoo yyng vanishing mansion. Hoax lang po yan perpetuated ng dating mayor. Gumawa lng ng kwento dahil ayaw ipaputol ng mga tao yung malaking puno sa harapan ng gate ng Guimbal HS. Naka usli po kasi sya at para magdahan dahan ang mga sasakyan pagdaan, nilagyan ng rebulto at gumawa ng kwento.. The real vanishing mansions, ship and pier is in Miagao... kaya may kwento about the golden ship na MV Miagao.
Paanong naging katabing town ng Tigbauan ang Alimodian? Although I have to agree maganda rin ang Alimodian pero if Im not mistaken... magkatabi ang bayan ng Leon at Alimodian.

We are very proud of our Unesco Heritage Church of Miagao. San Joaquin church, the town after Miagao has a very slightly resemblance to this one. But the Bridge that connects the two rowns was badly damaged by typhoon Paeng. Mahirap magpunta ngayon sa San Joaquin

Tigbauan is the hometown of my mother. Almost all the family names of the locals there starts with a letter T. Our church has a baroque facade. An old church then,infront of the plaza where I used to learn how to ride a bicycle. Now it's more developed. Beautiful and grand.
Tigbauan Church style is more from Mexico. Apat lang po ang Baroque style churches sa Pilipinas, San Agustin sa Maynila, Paoay Church, church in Sta. Maria Ilocus Sur and Miagao Church in Iloilo.

yes, Miag-ao church and Plaza ( grabe experience ko sa Plaza na yan noon 1986, nalasing ako dyan at muntik na mag lakad madaling araw pauwi ng Iloilo city ). Sir, sa next town San Joaquin) meron po sila Spanish era cemetery ( Campo Santo), napuntahan nyo po ba? sir, Dji pocket 2 camera ba gamit nyo ?
Because its a fortress church... may mga kanyon po dati na nakalagay sa bintana ng kampanaryo. May Salakayan Festival ang Miagao depicting the defense of the town from Muslim invaders, at sa simbahan ang kanilang defensive position. Since Miagao proper is located on a hill, pag nasa kampanaryo ka.. kitang kita mo ang buong karagatan.
Halos lahat Ng towns sa Iloilo province may plaza at Ang pinaka-unique, ibang-iba sa lahat ay ang barotac nuevo, pinakamalapad................ soccer field!
I love Tigbauan church's interior because of the mosaic paintings. The façade is alright but not a fan of the 2 belfries that were added in the 90's... In fact those new additions don't serve their purpose since the church's main belfry is where the bell being rang everytime.

Kung dumiretso ka sana sa next town of San Joaquin.. the facade is another amazing scene depicting the Battle of Tetuan. The vanishing mansion of Guimbal is a hoax... pautot lng yan ng dating mayor. Ginawa nya yan kasi ayaw ng mga tao na putulin yung malaking puno during road widening. Kaya gumawa na lng siya ng kwento. The real vanishing mansion is in Miagao papuntang UP Visayas. But people dare not make a joke out of it.

The San Joaquin church and San Joaquin Cemetery is old and beautiful. Just 30 south ahead from Miag-ao
The Cristo rey is beside the church. When I was a teenager, I used to play there. During fiestas there's a lot of peryahan surrounding the place.

Miagao church looks a fortress, massive walls!
Because its a fortress church... may mga kanyon po dati na nakalagay sa bintana ng kampanaryo. May Salakayan Festival ang Miagao depicting the defense of the town from Muslim invaders, at sa simbahan ang kanilang defensive position. Since Miagao proper is located on a hill, pag nasa kampanaryo ka.. kitang kita mo ang buong karagatan.

I love Tigbauan church's interior because of the mosaic paintings. The façade is alright but not a fan of the 2 belfries that were added in the 90's... In fact those new additions don't serve their purpose since the church's main belfry is where the bell being rang everytime.

Kung dumiretso ka sana sa next town of San Joaquin.. the facade is another amazing scene depicting the Battle of Tetuan. The vanishing mansion of Guimbal is a hoax... pautot lng yan ng dating mayor. Ginawa nya yan kasi ayaw ng mga tao na putulin yung malaking puno during road widening. Kaya gumawa na lng siya ng kwento. The real vanishing mansion is in Miagao papuntang UP Visayas. But people dare not make a joke out of it.
