I can enjoy the lore and story of the game without knowing what the fuck an incantation is" Not really since incantations are a main mechanic of the game opposite to sorceries and if you don't know want an incantation is and the differences between you won't know how to use them or make a build around them. 100% play however you want but understanding the mechanics and the differences between the different mechanics is incredibly important to every aspect of the game.

Door is not glitched. It's a feature. You can also hit enemies through walls, in this case a door.
