This short video highlights Nahiem Ajmal aka Abu Layth's lax attitude towards key tenets of faith whilst answering peoples questions on Islam. In the opening clip, after denying the well known belief of the descent of Sayyiduna Isa (Peace be upon Him), and the coming of Imam Mahdi, Abu Layth decides to make an insulting joke about Santa Claus coming down instead.
In the second clip taken from a recent discussion between Shaykh Asrar Rashid and Abu Layth, Shaykh Asrar tries to explain to Abu Layth why he needs to change his ways whilst discussing serious matters and adopt the way of Imam Malik (Allah be pleased with him).

Either deal with the nitty-gritty (which is his ideas/worldview/methodology [which I disagree with by and large]) from a position of knowledge, or concern yourself with other, better things. Of course the hadith has authenticity, he's a mufti for God's sake he doesn't deny that. But the hadith are not God's word they're the best chains we have to the original narrators. The Hadith mentions the coming of Imam Mahdi and the Messiah. The Messiah is called Isa Ibn Maryam who was also called Imam Mahdi. They are titles given to the same person.
From the Quran verse 3:144 and 5:75 it is clear that Jesus AS has passed away. Thus Isa Ibn Maryam is not the Jesus AS of Bani Israel but a different person who will come in the attributes of Jesus AS. He will resemble Jesus AS in spirit.

All he needs is a few rich followers who are enamored by his charisma who will pump money into spreading his beliefs, taking more unsuspecting lay-people under his followership.
Several years or decades later when he has gathered considerable followers, the rightly guided Ulama of Ahlus Sunnah will assign a label (suggestions for label: Naheimi) to this new group.
That's how Wahabism was born, deobandism was born, taher ul qadri's sect was born.
Most sects are born this way.

Al-Bukhaari (2222) and Muslim (155) narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “By the One in Whose hand is my soul, soon the son of Maryam will descend among you [according to another report: the Hour will not begin until the son of Maryam descends among you] as a just judge. He will break the cross, kill the pigs and abolish the jizyah, and money will become abundant until no one will accept it.”
“Soon” means it will inevitably happen quickly.
“will descend among you” means among this ummah.
“A just judge” means that he will come down and rule according to this sharee’ah (divine law), and that this sharee’ah will remain and not be abrogated, rather ‘Eesa will be one of the rulers of this ummah.
“He will break the cross and kill the pigs” means he will declare as false the religion of the Christians by breaking the cross in a real sense and proving false the Christians’ claims and veneration of the cross.
“and he will abolish the jizyah”:
al-Nawawi said:
The correct view concerning this is that he will not accept it, and he will not accept anything from the kaafirs disbelievers but Islam. If any of them offer the jizyah that will not make him stop fighting them. Rather he will not accept anything but Islam or death. This is the view of Imam Abu Sulaymaan al-Khattaabi and other scholars (may Allaah have mercy on them).
End quote.
“Money will become abundant” - the reason for this abundance will be the descent of blessings and the spread of goodness because of justice and the absence of oppression or wrongdoing. At that time the earth will bring forth its treasures, and desire to keep money will decrease because they will know that that Hour is at hand.
Then he will die and the Muslims will offer the funeral prayer for him and bury him.
Ahmad (9349) narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “I am the closest of people to ‘Eesa ibn Maryam because there was no Prophet between him and me…” Then he mentioned his descent at the end of time. Then he said: “And he will remain for as long as Allaah wills he should remain, then he will die and the Muslims will offer the funeral prayer for him and bury him.” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in al-Silsilah al-Saheehah (2182).

Sadly, Imam Ajmal seems to think that blasphemy is innocuous, provided such blasphemy aligns with one's "personality".
More sadly still, I imagine many young Muslims incljne toward Imam Ajmal's teaching and personality style, because he is charismatic and sharply dressed and speaks in a manner congruent with the teenage mentality.

Get some knowledge first
We learn our deen from The Quran and Sunnah. Islam is The true religion with undeniable proof and evidence. We Muslims believe in Jesus but not as God and we don’t believe God has a son. Jesus peace be upon him is a prophet and Messenger Of Allah (God) and he is the messiah and he will return. He wasn’t killed as Allah saved him before they could get to him. There is also scientific and historical miracles mentioned in the Quran such as the formation of the human embryo as well as the creation of honey in bees. There are Islamic prophecies that came true and will come true and I recommend everyone to try and learn about them. I myself know of people who were ill and suffering with issues (including black magic) and got cured miraculously when the Quran was recited over them. I invite everyone to learn about Islam.
All i saw in the full video was asrar dodging the debate and asking him over and over about santa clause, at which point i lost abit of respect for asrar and decided to see what abu layth has to say in his own words, you will be surprised that alot of things he says do actually make sense but YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO HIM!!!!!!
