Yep one of my most pet peaves is SSAA rule of “load and fire single rounds only” has nothing to do with safety so I agree with you there mate....great vid once again....👍
according to the Howa rep I spoke to, the Howa .308 Win is tested in Japan using Hornady 155 gr ammo shooting a 3-shot group. I had to readjust the torque on my MDT chassis from 65 in-lbs to 55 in-lbs and I can shoot factory Federal SMK 168 gr HPBT at 0.70 MOA. validate the accuracy with the Hornady 155 gr and see what you get if you are still having accuracy issues
had the same magazine issue with the ploy mag in my mdt oryx 308, mag drop under recoil, took the mag and rifle into my local gun shop, and he swapped the ploy mag for a metal mag 200 rounds later and no more problems
Cool video:) thanks for something different👊🏻 that Mossberg, to me, feels like it could be the weihrauch hw30s of the centerfires:) manoeuvrable and accurate
Great to see you back . Looks like you lost some weight in the last few months. Sometimes you have to wonder if the powers that be that make the rules at shooting ranges have any experience . Take Care
My Savage 110 chambered in .223 does that it's a 5 round metal magazine and I'll put 2 rounds down and by the 3rd I have to push the rear over the magazine back up so it will collect and chamber the next round.. I'm use to it now but moral of the story Uncle is don't get use to it get it fixed haha.
Try a much heavier round, 168gr or a175gr. If howa uses anything similar to savage the 1-8 twist loves the heavy rounds. That should squeeze the groups down to 1/2 m.o.a.
You shoot just like I was taught too. Both eyes open and on target. Never know when something else could come into your field of view. USAF taught me the same when I went to shooting school. Wish everyone would/could shoot this way. Cool video. You spent some cash on these rounds compared to you air guns.😂💪💯👍 Thank you.
I feel you should be getting better accuracy out of that HOWA, all things considered... I wonder where most of the issues stem from? A bit of a lemon barrel perhaps?
I think it itll be okay, I wasnt doing my part that day that's for sure. Will try some match ammo instead of hunting ammo after the run in and get a better idea from there. I had way to much mumbo on the action screws too. Lots of things to change before the barrel I think.
@@meatheadmarksman2013 I kind of forgot you were using milsurp ammo. It's actually not surprising then. Any money your groups halve when you use match ammo. A light 308w like that is a punish off the bench - I had a 20" Tikka myself before I had it rebarreled, and recoil fatigue is a way bigger deal than most probably give it credit. It's why high power metallic silhouette have shifted away from the 308 in favor of the 7mm-08 and 6.5cm.
@@jimhoffman5103 yeah i went 308 because i wanted ammo availability and milsurp options but really should have gone 6.5... defo a better option in this day and age
@@meatheadmarksman2013 meh there’s not as much in it as the inter-webs makes out. For example the two best aggregate F-class scores at the NSWRA Queens came from F-std (308w) not F-Open (any cal) That’s total over 8 matches out to 800m! So yeah, the 308w can be mastered - you just have to work fractionally harder. I shoot Service Rifle with a splash of TR, where 308w is the bread-and-butter. Indeed a very capable cartridge.
@@hasselhoffo dont get me wrong, I love 308! I love how well known it is, I love how available it is and I love the beefy sound it makes on steel at range. It's a super versatile cartridge, maybe a little dated but a 30 cal will always have a home in my safe
Most of my problems are user error if were being honest with ourselves lol my camera man has a tikka t3 and it is silky smooth. Very nice gun, nicer then the howa I think
I have had and still have several tikka rifles. From factory to custom built similar to what you are trying to do. I have a CTR and the magazine you are using there fit perfectly once you give it a quick rub of sandpaper

My Helix is on its way...... can not wait!!!!
Surefire muzzle brake . Also look at the Surefire 7.62mm suppressor TRAINER , you’ll love it and NSW legal.
I have tried the "tighten till spins freely, back off 1/4 turn, then apply red loctite" method.
Chips n gravey...spot on
2 eyes open your sniper level just went to OVERLORD 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 She is a beautiful rifle Uncle
gotta be situationally aware! just in case my paper targets shoot back lol

The front screw torque problem can be removed by shortening the front screw. It is possibly protruding into the action.

we should never underestimate the stupidity of the general public lol they probably do have a good reason for it but its beyond me

Mine is a 1:10. Was shooting 165gr SGK's

🇦🇺😎👍Double nice 🏁
🇦🇺😎👍Nice 🏁
I have exact same setup except for the scope and my metal MDT mag does the same - it’s very annoying.
Hi.
What barrel size in HOWA 1500?
That's a 20 inch heavy fluted varmint barrel

Is your MVP chambered in 308 or 223?
223. It's actually a proper 5.56 nato but yeah 223
Great video
shame you carnt run a suppressor on her
only shot 22 rim
"her"?
You need to get your rings further apart ..... Reduce the chance of the scope getting knocked off zero !
Then I'm not the only person who doesn't trust and has problems with the Wheeler FAT torque wrench.
Does your over torque everything too?
@@meatheadmarksman2013. It does.
I sold my 6.5 284 for a Helix Scope.
I’m only half way threw this video. But your problems are already stacking up 🤯
Just buy a tikka.

Pfft I handed the tikka back after 20 rounds.
👏👌👍☕💪😉

How dare you sir!! ( get a Lithgow )
Howa = old landcruiser ute, leaf springs, very slow but it works.
Lithgow = nice new hilux, better in basically every way lol
Blues or maroons
lol dont hang on to mag when shooting problem solved
