When Chris is talking about dividing the molecular weights of air and nitrogen dioxide, he says 46 divided by 29 = 2.6. It doesn’t equal 2.6, it equals 1.58.....anybody know how he got that number?
Throw some water mist, pour out buckets of baking soda and you’ve neutralised the NO2 into nitric acid followed by base neutralisation into sodium nitrate. If you pour enough baking soda you can just sweep it up and use it as tree stump remover! Bang bang done. Sounds easier then it really is but totally possible. That NO2 is gonna go all over the place because I’m sure it the tanker it’s in liquid form so it’s gonna generate massive amounts of NO2 gas. Still better than Hydrogen Sulphide gas spill. (Scary stuff ☠️)
I need a help. A wastage beaker exploded in our lab. And beside it, there was an akua regia glass bottle which exploded too. It was a 3 liter glass bottle with the akua regia waste at half volume. We then wipe the waste spill with tissue and poured a lot of water. This spill happened outside of the fume hood. And to make it worst, the wet tissue and all those spill we put it in a large plastic box with normal cap and leave it under the table in the lab. I just knew that akua regia gives off NO2. What should i do? I am too afraid to call the hazmart team at that time because i thought my doctor will be fuming at me.
Nobody helped Zaino. So Zaino is still breathing the Aqua Regia fumes and must be miserable by now. It's a shame that we can't live in a world where you can ask a technical, life or death question on a vaguely related training video archived on UA-cam and get prompt help. For *shame.* Normally that's exactly how you would get help with something like this, not by "calling professionals" using a "" phone"". Now somewhere in a probably weird part of the world, a doctor is fuming mad, a lab is fuming gas, and zaino is caught in the middle. I hope that your doctor can find some peace in these trying times, and that you can find your spell check button, and everyone in your lab can regrow their acid-burned extremities lost in The Great Acid Explosion Wipe-up Of 2019.
