This morning I released my first-ever "piano" song. I've released some piano versions of songs before, but "I Wanted To Leave" is the first song that was written for the piano. I have a history of being in beautiful places and having a nagging feeling to leave. Even when I’m with people I love, these places start to feel cold and less like home the more I’m there. I think life is full of these juxtaposed environments where we pressure ourselves to stay or go. I wrote this song in Paris, such a beautiful city rich in culture and history. And when I started feeling the urge to leave, this melody emerged. I'm looking forward to releasing a few more of these in the coming months so I hope you enjoy.
It's weird. To me, the melody isn't sad or happy. It's weird. It evokes a strong feeling but I cannot categorize it, it's like it made me feel a peaceful void. It's weird and soothing at the same time. Thank you for creating this. I love it.
My humble opinion: Music is a language and in this song what you are hearing is NEW BEGINNINGS; a turning of the tide, if you will. Old things passing a way and wrongs being set right. And in this case, it is bitter before it is sweet. It's how resolve feels. This balance could account for the "peaceful void" that you feel. At 2:06 , however I feel this to be out of place, creating an asymmetry with the interlude. The writer/composer may have felt that the song was boring without it. As is, this offset element adds a "settling for something" type feel which could symbolize healing that still remains. Also, although I don't prefer the abruptness of how the song ends, it leaves a firm, take it or leave it situation. I could also see the song being resolved more optimisticly, with a little more finesse..
This is SUCH a perfect way to describe this songs feeling. It's neither sad nor happy. Just...right there in the middle with a melody of both these emotions. You're happy the war is over, but now comes the years of grief, relief, sadness, happiness, memories etc
This song feels like autumn. Like dancing in the leaves as the world around you let its shining colors blend together. Like rediscovering your childhood town in muted tones. Like going over all your most ancient memories, the fresh scent of mormings, the crackling of the fire, the sounds of laughter and joy echoing in your head. It feels like coming home. Coming home after a long day and finding silence. Not a bad silence, just the quiet of the living sometimes. The quiet you make when you reflect of life. You go to make yourself a hot drink and you sit on your porch. You sit there for a while and your let the world wash over you. You feel clean, smooth and clear. You feel like hardened cristal. And you find yourself not wanting to leave that moment out of time. You belong here.
It feels a little more hopeful. Like this was her running into the woods - but instead of going into the water - she sees the beauty of the world she lives in and just takes it all in and falls in love with her life again
To me, this sounds like loneliness, both equally gentle and desolate, reflective and wistful. Its relaxing and serene with just a touch of melancholy and yet its beautiful
it’s like the response to “where’s my love?” cause he/she wanted to leave hence “i wanted to leave” has no lyrics cause he/she never actually said anything just left with no explanation and left the other one wondering where they had gone to
Once again, you’ve managed to create a language that souls speak. My son, who is autistic, falls asleep to your music all the time. I can’t wait to introduce him to this new one. Thank you.
my 2 year old brother was recently diagnosed with autism and he loves to watch me play piano and sometimes plays it with me :) i played this piece for him and he fell asleep to it
Coming back to here after listening to Lana's "Paris, Texas." Oh I have always loved this wondrous melody. And added with Lana's melodious voice, it sent me straight to heaven.
I live in a country where it never snows. I've never felt the snow. But this song makes me feel like it's snowing inside my chest. I just can't stop listening to it.
This sounds dumb but sometimes I forget completely that there are people who have never had the opportunity to feel the snow and idk that makes me sad. Something so simple like getting to experience all the joys about every season seems so small and yet there are people that have never chased a snowflake with their tongue or made a snowman/snow Angel or anything snow related at all. That makes me sad because I complain about the snow all of the time but sometimes forget these things. I hope you get to feel the snow someday man. It is a cool experience🙂
Snow is bad. It's fun to experience, sometimes. But snow and ice can cause many traffic accidents and freeze people to death if they're not careful. If it gets too deep people can be buried alive, and it also causes lots of roads to crack open. Just having a window in your room will drop the temp by 15 degrees. There's really only one advantage to snow, and that is if you lose power, at least you can just throw some snow in your freezer. The nights are really bright though, and you get to see where your dog is peeing on the neighbor's yard, which is bad.
This was exactly my feeling when my ex broke up with me. I was going through a very painful episode that lasted almost a year. I’m so glad that I’m happier now.
I can’t believe how Lana brought me here to know this masterpiece… the melody is beautifully written and lana’s edition makes it different with the vocals❤
Why does this perfectly personify the tune of my soul? I can almost feel my mind vibrating to the tone of this melody, like water rippling with the touch of falling leaves
POV during the song- You've spent most of your life hating who you were. You never felt like you were enough inside or out. One day you decided you were sick of never feeling enough. You pushed yourself to the limit every day, exercising, eating healthy, taking care of yourself for once. And after a while it became habit to love and take care of yourself. And so you lived on. Happy and healthy. Better than before. Transformed.

Somehow SYML just has the ability to make songs that feel like home and bring a sense of comfort. The songs are rain pitter pattering on leaves, making the mountains misty and the air damp. I feel alive when I listen.
This music makes me think of my life, looking back to how much I’ve grown, thinking back to memories, difficult situations I’ve gone through that have made me stronger and the person I am today.. it’s truly beautiful.
This is therapy, this is what our souls crave for,the hug we long for,the smile we exhibit, the tears of joy,the fulfillment we desire. God bless you for making this melody!
This song reminds me something that I never lived, but it sounds familiar and obvious at the same time. An imaginary nostalgia that hits the present and make it past. Genius.
It makes me feel like having a slow-dance in the rain all by myself, crying and feel peaceful at the same time. I can't describe enough how beautiful this song is. Thank you for make this.
I don't know how to say it better. This song is that warm feeling when that one person looks at you in a way that changes your whole life. The warm, kind happiness what you feel when you finally accept the person who you really are.

Everything this man makes... is amazing, incredible, heartfelt, warming, special, elegant, and there’s so much more u can say about his music. I’m so glad people are discovering him and seeing who he is and his amazing voice. Beautiful
Essa música me trás conforto, como se eu tivesse encontrado um repouso. Um lar onde posso vir quando estiver desanimado. Então descanso até estar pronta para recomeçar, de novo...
This song is so soothing. Every time i’m crying or on the edge of a breakdown i listen to it. And i feel better. No matter how hard it is. No matter how messed up the situation is, this song appeases my soul. It gives me hope, courage to hold on. Thank you, for giving me something to live for
I love all the comments describing this song as nor happy or sad, just a weird autumn vibe, I can still kind of feel it, this song got me through some tough shit, and i cant get through the whole song now without crying, it just hurts now, but it's still oddly warm, like a pumpkin spice frappuccino 🥲👍
To me, this song sounds like exploring an attic on a rainy day in the summer. The smells of dust, old books, and petrichor mixing as the rain beats a tattoo on the roof and you try and piece together the stories of the lives that belonged to all these old, long- forgotten things.
This beautiful melody took me back when I was a kid. When I was carefree and happy and unknowing of life. Just dancing, painting and sailing paper boats in puddles during rain. Music is a therapy. 💛💛
i love that everyone in the comments has their own interpretation of what the song sounds like to them. it's so beautiful to see how everyone's minds work differently
This song is perfect when you want to go sit or lay down outside in the rain and look at the view...it's quite relaxing! I always do that during my free time when it's rainning
To me, this song is melancholy, it’s bittersweet. It’s like when you finally move on from a really difficult heartbreak but realise with sadness that you’ve forgotten their face. It’s realising that you’re finally free but feeling a pinch of sadness at leaving behind your past self and all the memories.
this song should also be available in pharmacies. i am ashamed to say that i discovered you guys about two months ago, but better late than never. this is by far your best song ever. its like a medicine. every time i get home from work, i light a big J and i listen to this song with my eyes closed. AND I FEEL MUCH BETTER ONCE ITS FINISHED. THANK YOU.
Your music really is a special place to me, it feels like coming back to something that tells me it's ok & it's gonna be alright. When I hear this, I feel safe for a moment. Thank you for making my life a little lighter 🌸
It reminds me of a kind of wistfulness, the one you feel on foggy mornings, the act of looking out a window but contemplating instead of actually observing, when you see a kid doing something you forgot how to do when you grew up, slightly lonely and faintly feeling like something is missing. I get late autumn, early winter vibes from this. Or a very muggy and rainy spring. It’s such a beautiful song and I’m gonna try learning it on the piano
Hey you, I want you to give yourself credit for how far you've come. How many hard times have you gone through. You are a strong a** soul. I understand how mentally tired you are, but it all is part of the process. You have become so strong. You are not the only one that struggles, we all do mate and it's okey, because it's natural. We believe in you❤️. Don't forget to take care of yourself. Grab a bottle of water and go outside💧. Have a nice day, bye 👋.
@@javieramtr2116 some insiders said this song was going to be sampled for paris texas !! so when i heard that info, i had to come here and take a listen

I don't know what it is about this song that changes and can feel like a whole new melody to me when I listen to it at different times. It can be a happy tranquil moment or a feeling of deep sadness. It somehow resonates no matter the mood I'm in.
I listen to this song whenever I achieve my dreams. It feels unreal sometimes. But the joy of dreaming feels better than the actual achievement. Sometimes I can’t realize that I have reached what I once dreamed of all night long.
I don't know if this is just my own little feeling, or if others have felt the same, but this song brings back nostalgia, it brings back something that I didn't even know I could remember. It brings back memories of me when I was happier, when all my dreams seemed to be possible no matter what the obstacle was. While listening to this I cry and think "if only I could be who I was then".
My friends and I listened to this while playing the last session of our dnd campaign and it was a particularly heartbreaking moment for all our characters filled with loss and this just encapsulated all our pain. Even the title was so fitting when one of our party members made the decision to leave us. So thank you so much for this absolute tear jerking masterpiece, I'm sitting here listening to this while crying
This songs makes you remember everything u came across in your life....the good memories....the bad memories....the people you miss, the ones you loved....people who walked into your life and those who left.....the unfulfilled desires.....it makes u remember all at once.....❤
This sounds just the way you described feeling. It doesn’t really feel bittersweet; it makes me feel wistful for both places at the same time....that wanting to leave and wanting to stay feeling. I love that you put out different versions of songs. I’m not familiar with other artists who do that the way you do. But I REALLY enjoy this piano version on its own.
I understand this, I often get this feeling. It's almost a sadness, but not quite. My question is; why is it? What causes it? Is it that I begin to feel that I don't really belong there so it's time to go? It's not MY home. This can actually be a location, say Paris, but it can also be with a group of friends; enjoying, wanting to stay, but feeling it's time to go or I have to go (I don't actually have to, but that's what comes to mind).....like I don't belong, it's not where I'm supposed to be. I think life is a search for belonging. Does that help or make sense?
Louis Alvarez that makes perfect sense. It’s not just a physical location but a location in my mind and a feeling of belonging. Eventually, I long for the familiar faces, the known environment.
This song reminds me of beautiful and old abandoned places that once were stunning and dominated by nature the feeling that those places were once full of emotions to be more exactly this song reminds me of places that I visited or childhood home it’s really hard to describe this feeling
I would not have thought that a song without a single word could say more than a human can discribe with words in a lifetime , yet here we are ( it's so beautiful i am litterally crying)

So beautiful and soothing ♥♥
It's weird. To me, the melody isn't sad or happy. It's weird. It evokes a strong feeling but I cannot categorize it, it's like it made me feel a peaceful void. It's weird and soothing at the same time.
Thank you for creating this. I love it.
I definitely feel a similar way. I wonder if it can be called anemoia, or a nostalgia for something which can’t be expressed.
@palace ahahahaha you're perfect
Melancholy :)
It brings the emptiness from heartache in my opinion. If this is a response or different perspective to where's my love I think it's very deep💞
This song makes me feel like the ending of a war, a happines that all the chaos has ended but at the same time, pain and grieve for all the lost lives

Knew they wouldn't understand

When you know, you know

When you know, you know
That it's time to leave

[Bridge]
When everyone's star is bright
Brighter than you are
It's time to go
And you're the only one left
Dancin' while they're on the floor
Time to go
[Verse 3]
I flew back home
It seems everything's the same (Venice, California)
Except that you weren't home
“Hello,” I call to no one (But)
Outro]
When you're home, you're home (Venice, California)
When you're home, you're home (Venice, California)
You're home, when you're alone
When you're right, you're right
When you're right, you're right

O garip his var yine sende
Her şeye rağmen mutlu olmak
Me encanta ^^

Everything this man makes... is amazing, incredible, heartfelt, warming, special, elegant, and there’s so much more u can say about his music. I’m so glad people are discovering him and seeing who he is and his amazing voice. Beautiful
This feels like a melancholic nostalgia.
This is so incredibly beautiful, those 200 seconds passed by in an instant...
Lana brought you guys to the top and I'm glad for that. Always loved fear of the water
Every song is beautiful and pure I'm glad they're my little secret
I love that magic atmosphere this song has. And “Paris, Texas” gave this song the beautiful and sad voice and lyrics Lana put on this one.
can’t wait for Lana to sing over this piano on her upcoming album Ocean Boulevard

Thank you, for giving me something to live for
especially when the whole world is in such a state of chaos and uncertainty, your music is truly a blessing ❤️
Facts🙏
I love all the comments describing this song as nor happy or sad, just a weird autumn vibe, I can still kind of feel it, this song got me through some tough shit, and i cant get through the whole song now without crying, it just hurts now, but it's still oddly warm, like a pumpkin spice frappuccino 🥲👍
Bitter but sweet
When they ask about my favorite i can't say SYML, because you're my little secret😌
To me, this song sounds like exploring an attic on a rainy day in the summer. The smells of dust, old books, and petrichor mixing as the rain beats a tattoo on the roof and you try and piece together the stories of the lives that belonged to all these old, long- forgotten things.
I saw SYML's notif. I CLICKED.
This beautiful melody took me back when I was a kid. When I was carefree and happy and unknowing of life. Just dancing, painting and sailing paper boats in puddles during rain.
Music is a therapy. 💛💛
just want to say that im gratefull to be alive, and a few days later will be 2023.
This song is clearly the answer to “Where’s my love?” No words, just a title, and still absolutely heartbreaking.
This song makes me feel introspection, like I can see myself and the world around me and appreciate it.
Listening to this song makes me dream like I am travelling all by myself , to heal, and trying to fall in love with myself again
i love that everyone in the comments has their own interpretation of what the song sounds like to them. it's so beautiful to see how everyone's minds work differently
This song is perfect when you want to go sit or lay down outside in the rain and look at the view...it's quite relaxing! I always do that during my free time when it's rainning
This song gives me those "chilly windy Saturday nights under the blankets" vibe. So serene and beautiful
Ahhhh, this brings me peace and pain together. ❤️
beautifully said
Every time when I'm listening to music I think that the music is one of the best creations of people...
It makes me feel emotions I can’t explain. Like transcending through another world. Lovely.
To me, this song is melancholy, it’s bittersweet. It’s like when you finally move on from a really difficult heartbreak but realise with sadness that you’ve forgotten their face. It’s realising that you’re finally free but feeling a pinch of sadness at leaving behind your past self and all the memories.
I am so lucky that i found this channel
this song should also be available in pharmacies. i am ashamed to say that i discovered you guys about two months ago, but better late than never. this is by far your best song ever. its like a medicine. every time i get home from work, i light a big J and i listen to this song with my eyes closed. AND I FEEL MUCH BETTER ONCE ITS FINISHED. THANK YOU.
It's so beautiful and calming...
Lana fits so perfectly in this audio!!! I love it
Your music really is a special place to me, it feels like coming back to something that tells me it's ok & it's gonna be alright. When I hear this, I feel safe for a moment. Thank you for making my life a little lighter 🌸
Paris, Texas :)
I wouldn't mind listening this for ages.. my ears are like okay please again the same.
Relaxing but profound at the same time...
Hey you,
I want you to give yourself credit for how far you've come. Have a nice day, bye 👋.
paris texas !!!
how did you know it?
Yeees hoow did you knew it before it released?😮
@@javieramtr2116 some insiders said this song was going to be sampled for paris texas !! so when i heard that info, i had to come here and take a listen
[Verse 1]
I went to Paris (Texas)
With a suitcase in my hand
I had to leave
Knew they wouldn't understand
[Chorus]
When you know, you know
When you know, you know
It's time, it's time to go
When you know, you know
Then the more you know
It's time to go
[Verse 2]
I took a train to Spain
Just a notebook in my hand
Then I went to see some friends of mine
Down in Florence, Alabama
[Chorus]
When you know, you know
When you know, you know
It's time, it's time to go
When you know, you know
That it's time to leave
Like the summer breeze
Impressive 👏👏 👏 I’m happy Lana sang this, love that song ❤.
I don't know what it is about this song that changes and can feel like a whole new melody to me when I listen to it at different times. It can be a happy tranquil moment or a feeling of deep sadness. It somehow resonates no matter the mood I'm in.
Lana del rey samples this song called "Paris, Texas (feat. SYML)" you should check it out
I listen to this song whenever I achieve my dreams. It feels unreal sometimes. But the joy of dreaming feels better than the actual achievement. Sometimes I can’t realize that I have reached what I once dreamed of all night long.
Please make more. The story that was conveyed through this song is so beautifully powerful it overwhelmed me.
This sound is a 100% melancholy, is beautiful
It's a mix of isolation and hope, sad to go, but happy to be gone on a new, better adventure.
This song reminds me of beautiful and old abandoned places that once were stunning and dominated by nature the feeling that those places were once full of emotions to be more exactly this song reminds me of places that I visited or childhood home it’s really hard to describe this feeling
I’m going to share this now again, such a floral value to the most wicked beginnings.
You really help people through your music, respect.🙏 We’re all grateful. Keep going!
feels like drifting off into space, just feels heavenly
This just proves that you've never needed words to reach me. 🖤🖤🖤 Thank you..
Forgetting everything and litening to piano when it rains is the best..so peaceful yet strange..
Found my new background song when I pretend to be the main character
hahaha
You are the main character
this right here
What are ya’lls similar beautiful songs!? 🥺🤍
I thought I was the only one who did this. 😅😅😅😅
I would not have thought that a song without a single word could say more than a human can discribe with words in a lifetime , yet here we are ( it's so beautiful i am litterally crying)
