I have an Norse Ask and my wife has an Idun. Both boats are built to a high standard and we've experienced zero quality issues.
In terms of tracking & cross winds the Ask is sensitive to fine tune balancing with the skeg, exactly what I'd ecpect in a playful boat.
I was originally dubious at the centre mounted hatch behind the cockpit but after use it quickly became my preference. I can access the entire compartment and the central position means I can use 2 hands behind my back to easily put the lid back on.
I would describe the Bylgja/Idun as being big/small, and the Ask/Embla being big/medium. At 6'1 I can easily fit in, and have tested, the Embla, but not the Idun where the cockpit is definitly smaller.
All the boats are great fun with greenland paddles.

What type of kayak or even packraft would you recommend to just paddle in a quiet river or a lake for two people and a small dog.

Hey just an idea but everytime I look for a video about kayak for guys 250 and above all I see are sit on tops. I think it would be cool if you did a video on sit insides that would be ideal for beginner fat guys that want to cover alot of ground and do camping expeditions?

Awesome looking craft. Looks great on the water.
Shout out to Rylan. Great dude. Showed me some cadillacs in the warehouse when i first visited. I have my eye on a Delta in the future. Definitely buying from Western Kayak and Canoe there.

Just looked at some Norse Kayaks. They had several of them at our local outfitters/kayak store. They looked fantastic! Very comfortable and of excellent quality.
Unfortunately, every single one had gel coat cracks at the ends of the skeg box.
After doing some research, I found that this is an issue with these boats. According to Norse Kayaks, it has to do with the way they package the boats for shipping.
Seems fishy to me. I was super disappointed…really wanted to get this boat. Now it’ll likely be a Zegul Reval.

Dan, thanks for doing what you do. Love your videos and coverage of different kinds of kayaks. You've opened my mind to something other than the typical fishing kayaks that are so prevalent here in Texas.

I have owned a Norse Bylgja for 2,5 years. It is very similar to the tested one. It is also built in Sri Lanka. I used to absolutely love but now it has started to have quite a few spider cracks in the gel coat, which I think is not acceptable, especially for a kayak that is only two years old. I would not recommend it to anyone. My dealer has made a complaint to the Danish importer so we are awaiting the response.
Thanks for a nice and inspiring channel.
    Best from Denmark,
    Thomas

Just a small update. Absolute no response importer nor from Norse themselves! Furthermore I have heard that they more or less all get spider cracks on the areal in front of the seat where you step into it. Do not waste time on money on this.

Thats a sweet kayak! A friend had it out in some surf and found it really awesome. I'd love to try it out myself.

Hi. Looks like a very nice kayak . Would you say its a "fast" kayak with good glide? Or more of a playful kayak ?

Did that have a skeg? Or was I seeing a drag pad or maybe a structural support under there?
