Good video, I love my bambino plus and have owed one for years. 2 items I leaned recently is the manual shot option and how to get how water from the machine by pressing the milk thoam level and single cup button which blew my mind.
Your process looks very similar to mine. I will note that I didn't see a huge difference between heating the portafilter VS not. To keep things simple, I run one full single preinfused shot through after puck preparation and eliminate that step entirely. I also place a small paper filter at the bottom of the portafilter. Personally, I don't think you can ever tamp too hard (will prevent channeling). These have really helped my ability to nail light roasts (your ratios are spot on).
Hi man, nice video! I have the same setup and very similar routine. What I changed recently is to grind directly into porta filter with dosing funnel. Saves a step to move the beans from container. Currently I am not preheating the porta filter, just the machine but I will start doing this, thanks for the tip. For nicer video shots I would recommend getting bottomless portafilter, I have the 54mm from normcore.
Great videos part 1 and part 2. There is nothing like a good cup of coffee. And the smell is pure nirvana. Now that I have the espresso machine, I would like to purchase all the tools you use ie grinder, dosing ring, scale etc, to make that perfect cup. Would jt be possible to have a list of the brand names/model info of the products that you use in your video?
@@HomeBaristaCorner thanks for your sharing. May I ask why people said need let air in around 25 secs in order to have enough milk texture for latte art? I am struggling since my latte art too watery and cannot form

Hi i have a Kingrinder K6 and it says in the manual not to clean the internals with water and just use a blower and brush for cleaning, if i do RDT with the K6 will the moist damage my grinder?
@@romelm3320 I have a Timemore hand grinder for pour-over coffee for almost 2 years now, using RDT, no issue. One or two mist of water is enough, not too much is fine. RDT is acceptable solution in the coffee community if your grinder has static issue.

I think you should be timing your shot when you hear the pump actually starting and not when you push the button. There is a delay of a few seconds on this model between the button pushing and the pump actually starting for preinfusion. Your first shot was probably closer to 34 seconds as a result. Food for thought.
Im also confused about this because i watched another video where they say that you have to start to count the seconds from when the coffee starts dripping out.
@@dancho9733 did an experiment with Bambino Plus already. If I didn't purge the grouphead before pulling my shot, the water will dispense after 2-3secs. If I purge, water will dispense in a second. Other machine behaves differently, really depends on your machine. So basically the start is from when it starts to dispense water from the grouphead, not from first drip because saturating the puck is part of brewing time.
@@HomeBaristaCornerjust to clarify start timer when I believe extraction starts. I also have bambino and just learned there is a second or two pre infusion. Should I include that in the time or press the brew button wait until I think pre-infusion is done then start timer ? Or right when I press the brew
If you cannot touch the jug for 3 seconds then you cannot put it in your mouth for 3 seconds. It's too hot. Also the milk loses flavor when too hot. And that's for 55. At 65 it's scalding. Who determined these standard temperatures and why?
@@heberildo Prosumer machine you can do a 3 secs method. Home machine like in the video is different, heating is slow. Commercial, prosumer and home machine varies. It's not always the same.
@@heberildo if you have tried a commercial machine, a prosumer machine and a home machine, you will know the difference between the three. 3 secs is not applicable to all machines. La Marzocco can heat up the milk less than 20secs while home machine 1minute or more.
@@HomeBaristaCornerI meant the milk is too hot at 55. It burns your tongue and the milk loses its sweetness. Why is that the standard? I bought a Bambino plus and scalds the milk even at the lowest setting. Disappointing.
