When people say easy wear with regard to SilencetheSea I’m always so intrigued. It is SO SO SO impactful and strange and real sea water/sea creature. This review makes it seem like a breeze but for me it’s by far one of the weirdest scents bottled in the history of perfumery. Like being on the boat when the full fishing nets are reeled in.
I remember seeing these, actually hearing Steven, but never sampled them. MiN of NY maybe . Wow Steven, I have gotten great deals from MiN . Anyways , mmmmm , Jovoy I believe it was. I have the sample set which I purchased after a semi-positive review from Claire V who is very difficult to impress. The quality is surprisingly good for all four compositions. But but my biggest issue with two of the scents are the compositions themselves. Both Dead of Night and Melt my Heart felt banal and redundant to me. I'm not sure why I would pick this over other barnyard rose ouds and orris chocolate scents. Silence the Sea does come across as quite unique to my nose. Claire mentioned it smells like ambergris tincture. I see it as more of environmental smell (like the cold blue ocean) rather then a perfume. I liked Lose in Flowers alot. It smells like a more natural and expensive smelling version of Serge Lutens Des Profundis. I only wished it had more complexity in the drydown (at least on my skin). Their marketing is really strange. Based on their instagram, it seems like they are aiming at the high fashion crowd. But I wonder whose buying their stuff? It does seem to feel more like a vanity project to me.

Omg this is triggering something from my childhood. Maybe Silence the Sea reminds me of Hawaii? It’s addictive. Melt my Heart also instantly brought me back to my childhood. Smells perfumey. Like something I would have smelled on adults when I was a kid. Both are so addictive. Don’t remember the last time I got an emotional reaction instantly from a perfume like this.
I don't know....for me,dead of night is much more wearable than silence the sea.While silence the sea I could never wear,dead of night is pretty wearable.I don't find it that skanky,as mentioned in the video.

I have tried all these, even the fourth one you didn't speak about. You two are trying ridiculously to hype up these, they smell pretty horrid. The top\opening is a WOOOOSHHHING amazing blast of bliss, then the drydown on all four is embarrassingly bad smelling. It doesn't come full circle, more like full dud.

If oud is really "deep"in a fragrance, I call it barnyard oud. There's a few Bond #9's that really get there.
