I like your cabinet, it makes a clear nice distinction between organising tools to have at hand and storage. the knife looks cool, I have a piece of metal cut to start making my own, have had it laying around for a while, I don't yet have the right equipment to do it in a way it's really worth my time.
That's a great cabinet, I really like the slat and bit holders you've designed there. Much classier than sheets of pegboard, and probably much easier to remove a tool without dropping one of the pegboard tool hangers onto the floor behind a toolbox.
Really nice looking and practical cabinet. Your video inspired me to make a similar cabinet that I'm going to desing for my particular needs. Thanks and keep up the good work! Greetings from Poland.
Great video. I like the drill cabinet. That is pretty neat. I do something similar with the compound. But, I use a piece of leather from an old baseball mitt on the workbench. It works great for me. I keep the leather with the compound. I found I used less compound as some always remains useable in the leather.
lol.. question from Mr. Obvious.. -- "I noticed you were wearing glasses.. are you sponsored by Opticians??" Great project.. this is now moving far ahead on my list..
I just looked at the details on your website and you are fucking awesome creative, this is one of the coolest wood projects and so usable, that ive ever seen. You have a great gift and thanks so much for sharing. I agree no door, it's just beautiful and perfect just the way it is, for what it is. Do you want a student? A paying student? Your style is over the top in my opinion and id like my house full of it. Im serious about the student too although im 50 yrs old lol, Ive owned my own Home improvement co for over 22 yrs and I want to just do wood working now for awhile and you have the tricks I'd love to learn and pay!! thanks again for sharing.
wow., very nice. I'm not even sure how i stumbled upon this, because i would never be able to do this, but very impressive. Is the blade stainless steel?
Paper has a grail like wood does. Try cutting it with your knife at 90 degrees from what you did at the end of your video. Super nice job on the cabinet.
🛠 Personally, for me, I’d do the door, because of the fucking dust that gets all over the cabinet contents. I know that you have a door on your router bit cabinet and your wood storage cabinet. It’s only a personal preference. Thanks for sharing this build. You are a master at efficiently utilizing all the space available!
The irony of testing a sharp edge with paper is that paper can really dull a blade :-(. I like the cabinet, but my shop has limited wall space, any chance of showing a method for attaching it to the actual drill press?
It's not much of a blade if paper seriously dulls it. This cabinet is made to be wall mounted to be at a convenient height. I don't like having anything under the drill press, with all of the swarf raining down on it.
Building a smaller version of this cabinet for my drill bits and other drill accessories. Tired of having everything strung all over the place and forgetting I own counter sinks and using an oversize bit for the job.
LOL, I have been preparing a knife stropping video and it's not up because, as soon as I turn the camera on, I can't slice paper for the life of me despite easy practice slices and restropping the knife just to be sure.
Thanks for letting it all hang out and showing yourself an ordinary slob like the rest of us. Now if I could find out why you can carry three channels, a website, and build eight things a week, while it takes me two years to build a bird house, I would be on my way.
Damp paper... yhea, had that problem ;P. Totally agree with you on everything. Take Time out on youtube if you need to build your site etc, youtube isn't forever. Emails, 'uck them after a pre determined timeout, if they are that important they will be sent again, they found the answer, they died, you are the new king of nigeria. The ocasional x's needing a gap filled sometimes turn up and are worth while lol.
Great job John. I've watched the knife making video, love it! Check out PPotty1 channel he makes a 'Damascus' knife forging over 100 layers of steel. Very talented guy. The end product is beautiful. It's over a few videos but worth the watch, Forging a Damascus penknife blade
That quick clamp was awesome, a good wall hanger. Looking forward to the knife video on Saturday! Thanks John!
Enjoyed the whole video but the ending with the sharp knife through paper... that's gold right there...
Really looking forward to the video tomorrow. That knife looks sweet!
Sweet cabinet and the knife looks awesome. I'll be looking out for it.
This design was just fantastic! Love the modular rabbit
Джон спасибо за Ваш канал! Вы генератор идей! Приятно смотреть за Вашими работами.

Absolutely my favorite show on wood working etc, keep it up John.
Man oh man john that drill bit cabinet is awesome. Seriously something I gotta build
Thanks Wayne, how's your head? :-)
Hahaha. You managed to see that epic failure before I deleted it did ya lol.
Wooden Tool Man
Both attempts - I still get nightmares.
It seemed like a good idea at the time. People either liked it or they didn't. I should have left it.

Very nice cabinet John will definetly be making something like this!!
Nice drill bit storage cabinet. It definitely has more bells and whistles than mine. Love the knife too.
That cabinet is great, well done.
Cool bit cabinet. Can't wait to see the knife too
John,.....beautiful, well organized and safe.....
Nice cabinet. I need something just like that in my shop. I love the design.
Thanks Steve!

Thanks for the info about the drill press cabinet. I'm excited about your knife making video. I agree, it's definitely the papers fault.
can't wait to see the knife video! :)
awesome drill press cabinet btw, didn't expect it to be that genius! :)
I'll be making the drill press cabinet I think, thanks for the inspiration.
Looking forward to the knife video. I have made a couple of knives, inspired by your earlier videos.
Not a sharpening fail at all - just an editing fail John! Thanks for keeping it real!

Thanks john, love the knife project
It would be cool to see you make a sledge or sled as a project
I don't get multi-tasking well too. I like your wooden projects, especially the impassible wooden clamp :-)
Looking forward to watching the knife video.
Thank you for sharing.
Nice clip mate keep them coming
Thanks John.
That anders guy you are talking about in 1:23. Is that Anderzel?
Dude, how did you get off your snowmobile and open the door like that?
The irony of testing a sharp edge with paper is that paper can really dull a blade :-(. I like the cabinet, but my shop has limited wall space, any chance of showing a method for attaching it to the actual drill press?

Hi John. I don't use pay pal but would like to buy your plans for the drill press cabinet. Is there any other way to pay you ?
Like it says on the plans sales page, you can use credit cards. The checkout is through PayPal, but you don't need an account.
Super super super bravo..! I still your idea..(sorry for my english if i make some mistake but i'm italian and i don't speak it)
Cool bit cabinet! Life se knife too!
lots of cool stuff dude.
awesome!!
definitely making one as well

I think a micarta hip clip/sheath for the knife would be killer.
Aucune vidéo sur la fabrication ?
Just awesome!!!
I don't like to go clothes shopping - I feel with you ;)
Great video. If I could give multiple thumbs up, I would.
how to make the quick clamp?
AMAZING!!!!
inside the wooden bar a metal rod is required
The intro was great. You could have done needlepoint after and I would still have given a thumbs up.
Thanks Rick!
Damp paper... yhea, had that problem ;P.

BTW whats your alt, I thought I had it subed?
COOL!
I would never shave with a knife that's been pulled to be sharpened- that leaves burrs. Check out how straight edge are properly sharpened.
Check out stropping.
John Heisz
Stropping keeps a honed edge. Stropping to get a perfect V-edge is tedious and unnecessary.
Adam R
Great, another expert.
No tienes en español ?
Finished knife Damascus knife finished.
Nice one!
Ten thumbs up!!! 👍 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
genial
My paper is a little damp:)
Excuses, excuses, lol but we still like you ;}
