    Now that's something I've never seen before and I know it has nothing to do with the water-cooling but the music and the colour grading added to the whole effect. I absolutely loved this video, from both a creative and technical standpoint. Keep it up your work is awesome

    I come back to this every so often. I saw it back in 2013 and this video ended up leading me down a path of building computers and leaning about IT. I passed my CompTIA a+ exam last week, Im pretty sure this had something to do with it.

      @@metap0Pe Thanks man, It almost doesn't feel real that this is almost 10 years old. The build you inspired me to make was an Air540, 2x 780tis in sli, 4930k and 32gb of ddr3.

      Same, problem is I don't want it for myself :( and if I did build it and try to sell in my non-gamer low population country, yeah it would be for sale for a LOOOOOOOOOONG time, currently I build 1000€ PC and I'm like, did I really need this??? No, How do I get rid of it, sell it? doubt anyone would buy it. GREAT, smart life choices.

  • @ToriEmilia

    Well built and designed. So much thought was put into it. Only thing I noticed was at the end 1 of the reservoir had a huge amount of air in it. All the others were filled nicely so it just stood out to me.
    Hope you had a second person to help you rotate that baby around to get it out and make it a 10/10 instead of 9.9/10.
    Keep up the great work and I hope you take my comment as a way to improve and get even better. Loved it and the video.

    Can I ask you Hans Peder, what's the experience like getting sent a Caselabs case?

    • @metap0Pe
      @metap0Pe  11 років тому

      You have nothing to worry about. They come packed as good as it can be done, and it would take a natural disaster for anything to happen for the parts. Generally every time I have gotten a CaseLabs case (4 times) the shipping has been super, and nothing has been damaged. I highly recommend them.

      Companys have been selling liquid cooled systems for years. The 1st 1's I worked with were Cray's. Many years ago. I have been building systems for Gamers for years. Check out COOLMASTER. They put out an excellent line of closed, leak proof coolers. Think about the case you are going to put these items into. COOLMASTER once again has a good line of cases. What ever your wallet will stand there is no end! Every thing you would need to know, almost, may be found right here on youtube. If done properly, you may be able to overclock abit, or a bunch. When they leave my shop they are already set up to run at Normal Speed. Check out the Aquarium Cooled systems. Neat to have a Mineral Oiled Cooled system! Whatever your wallet can stand is possible. Good Shopping! Best of Luck!!! Redd...

    Hahaha, all that and a lg dvd writer ruins it.

    • @maddercat
      @maddercat 8 років тому

      No, probably not. I'm building a beowulf cluster that will cost 1/10th of what this does and be a super computer in terms of computations for some things. It's not about what it costs, it's about what it does for the money. I watercooled a w3690, overclocked it to 4.5ghz that is the second place for that processor on geekbench for about $60. So hahaha.
      You can get cheap chinese watercooling parts that functionally do the same thing and don't necessarily look so pretty, but get the job done. That's all I care about. I can't fanthom why anyone would put a dvd writer in such a rig though when it's clearly all about form over function in his case.

    • @Biskawow
      @Biskawow 8 років тому +1

      I don't think you are at the right place if it is about the costs for you. This sort of thing makes little sense when you consider bang for the buck or practicality, but it makes all the sense when you consider the sexiness.

    Seams completely stupid to have air in-taking in the top, common knowledge that heat rises, why fight physics

      hans peder sahl Hmmm strange never heard of this language, dont understant it :) nice response though as it confirms typical "engineer status" to me, knows everything but not everything, a danger i see all too often and why I do a better job

      @Artificiallntell 10 років тому

      Tobias Partridge what makes you think the fans are pulling air in and not exhausting it out? Mine exhausts from the top and back...side and front and under pull air in.

    • @siraplop6447
      @siraplop6447 10 років тому +1

      Artificiallntell The first few seconds of the video and when he snaps the "top" cover in place at 4:20, the fans all have there hubs and blades facing out, all PC fans if following this design rotate anticlockwise when looked at from the hubside of fan, and the motor/frame side is facing down, so you have a water cooling system that is pumping heat to the top of the case to be "exhausted" but oh wait, it gets pushed back in the case as there is also a push pull arrangement of the fans too - double wammy of bad implementation. look at a oil/electric heater and a water radiator for house heating, they are designed for air currents to pull fresh air in the bottom and exhaust out the top, so are fan forced ones, intake bottom, exhaust top.So I am aggreing with u, just look a bit closer in the video

    I don't think coloring is good for watercooling

    • @mikkeljurs1176
      @mikkeljurs1176 10 років тому

      It can gunk up your loop, yes, besides that watercooling is an ongoing project with maintenance frequently where you either flush the loop and refill it. :-)

      yeah sure colored water can be bad for you system.. so can dust ;) it's all about maintenance.

    • @Garretthierisser
      @Garretthierisser 10 років тому

      ***** right, i opened a watercooled heat sink after 6 month because the water lost its red color (wrong additive) and flocculated really much, nearly blocked the system. In future i only will ad some radiator anti freeze liquid for cars, nothing more.

    That's one hell of a loop you've built! I hope to build a water-cooled gaming PC soon, but I don't plan on making a loop as intricate as that! My hat goes off to you!
    Also, I'm digging that remix of the Torvus Bog Catacombs theme from Metroid Prime 2! :D
